Whenever people ask me who my favorite comedians are, I mention Chad Daniels every time. As comics, sometimes we get wrapped up with the work side of things, that we forget to have fun. We remind each other that a lot of cool things happen in comedy if you just stop and take it in for a second. Chad and I talk about how meaningful it is when a headliner brings you around as their opener, we share a few (hilarious) horror stories from the road and the late, great Mitch Hedberg.

Preston and Steve have been on morning radio in Philly since the 90s and have been #1 in ratings for fifteen years straight, but not many people know that in the 1980s, Steve was a stand-up comic before he got into radio. Starting comedy on Long Island, he came up with Eddie Murphy and Rosie O’Donnell, and in this episode, we talk about some old (really old!) comedy influences, the different types of comedy, when college gigs used to be fun and his transition into radio. He’s had quite the career, and he was more than happy to share it all!

Dan Cummins is the hardest working comic I know. He’s also the comic I’ve worked with the most. We met in Cleveland four years ago, hit it off, and we’ve toured all over the country together and I learned a ton working with him. With eight albums, FOUR HUNDRED MILLION Pandora streams and – wait for it – THREE podcasts of his own, I’m glad he found time to chat. In this episode, we discuss his early days in comedy, dabbling as a guitar act, working the road, memorable shows we’ve had together and encores.

A regular performer in comedy clubs, casinos and theaters all over the country, Pat has been a choice opener for Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura and Dan Cummins. We don’t cross paths much, but when we do, Michael Somerville and I will always catch up – and DRINK! (I think I’m still hungover from our Vegas weekend back in February). From his first time on stage at Notre Dame to multiple Letterman appearances, we discuss how his friends talked him into becoming a comedian and hanging out in Vegas, baby!

Are Josh Gondelman and I the same person??
