[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_05] Hey everybody, it's me, Kathleen Madigan. Welcome to Madigan's Pubcast. You grab yourself a drink, pull up a bar stool, and let's talk about what's been going on. Termites, welcome! Welcome! Fire! Stevie! Fire! We have Stevie. Stevie updates. Um, so, um, whoops. Episode 284, which I got wrong on my video. Apologize. Apologize this is a day late. Lots of travel mishaps. Put me way behind schedule.

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_05] Mm-hmm. And they don't even report it. The Boston Airport, which is great. The Northeast was. The Northeast was complete. 2,000 flights are canceled. It's not even on the news. You know, I tell my brother, yeah, mine didn't, mine got delayed, and then it was a FAA thing. Nobody wants to report about it. I don't get it. There was no weather. Every flight to New York was, thank God I wasn't going to New York. All those were canceled. And you know, we just act like this is a new norm. It's terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_05] So, so, that's why I'm late. Everything just got completely pushed back. Welcome. Yeah. And then, and then, well, I won't get into it, but my little friend, Rommel, is fixing cracks in the driveway, and Rommel is very good at what he does, but he's, he's a lot. Yeah. Yeah, he's a lot. I met him. Wow.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_05] He's a lot. Does a good job, but boy, does he like to talk and show me videos of his baby, which is the cutest baby I've ever seen in my life. I'd like to steal her, but you know, just a lot going on of nonsense. Anyway, what are we drinking? We're drinking Baxter Staycationland. It's a brilliant lager. A brilliant lager. It's a brilliant lager. Oh, I like it. But I had a lot of Allie Ash White up in the Northeast. Delicious, delicious. Yeah, I know. I forget about it until I get up there and then I see it and I get all fired up again.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_05] Portland, lots of great beers. This is from Bethesda, Maryland termites, Germites, Beth and Marla came to the Portland show. Nice. The Portland show was so fun. The theater's great. It is the stairway of death, though. I should have taken a video of it backstage. You have one in your phone. I saw it. Do I? The backstage is great, but the stairs, I've never seen anything like it. I think with the old people, they must never go up there. They probably just keep them in a bus outside in the alley and put them on stage and you can't.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_05] No. But there's no, well, there'd be a bathroom on the bus, but I did it three times, four times in heels. That's right. Stephen Rogers was the opener. A lot of people were asking who that was, in case you didn't remember his name. What are we eating? Before I keep rambling on. Well, I've already pre-tasted these because I happen to be starving. These are Cabot Creamery Fiery Cheddar Cheese Popcorn from Vermont Termites. Lisa and Gary, they came to the Portland show as well.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_09] Uh-huh.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, so good.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_09] Fiery cheese?

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_05] I know, it sounds like it could be too much. It's not.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_09] Fiery cheese sounds fantastic.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_05] Wait, I love it. Well done. How much did they charge for this bag? $19. Gassup, there was $4.15.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_03] Oh my God.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_05] I know. What? I know. I don't know when people are going to revolt. But, what are we trying here? Oh, Cape Cod, because I went to Cape Cod. It's soft. We'll be talking about that. We'll be talking about Fabulous Amy. Sweet and Spicy Jalapeno. Sounds like it could be weird. They did not pack this bag at all.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_03] No. No.

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_05] Everybody's getting ripped off.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_03] Everybody is.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_05] Mmm. Nice? Five stars. Nice. I wouldn't think of it. I don't really like sweet. Who gave you those? Truman.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_03] Nice.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_03] Where's Truman from?

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_05] Truman, I think, is from Oregon or Washington.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah, it's in the notes.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_05] One of those north, one of those northwest.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03] He's from somewhere up there.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_05] Somewhere up there that I don't consider America. Wow. It doesn't look like America. It's a horrible thing to say. No, I like it up. Seattle loves you. I love it up there, but it seems like I'm in Canada. Yeah. It's the trees. They throw me off, because you don't see them.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_03] We have different trees than those in Canada.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_05] Right, but it's getting Canada-y. It doesn't feel like trees that I'm familiar with. Okay. That's all. Cool. I can roll with that. Very good. Where did, let me see. Oh, wait, Oregon. Truman's from Oregon. I should know that, because he came to the Portland show. Yeah, and he's the boyfriend of my niece. What's her name? Sienna.

[00:04:51] Nice.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_05] Yes. We have one more thing to try here.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03] Al? Truman looks like Tom Selleck, everybody said, in the team email.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_05] Really?

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_03] I'm over Tom Selleck. Really?

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_05] Because he's, I don't know, he's just slight. Yeah. Tom Selleck was kind of beefy.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_03] I think it's the face. He's got a good smile.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah, and his mustache.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah. Five-star mustache.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. He has a nose ring. Throws me off sometimes.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_05] But he likes it.

[00:05:20] That's okay.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_05] My mom's always like, do you know he let me touch his nose ring? Mom, why would you do that? Why would you ask somebody, can I touch your nose? That's fucking weird. No. That is fucking weird. And I'm sure Truman's like, I don't know, what am I supposed to do? You know? Sure, go ahead. Sure, Grandma. Yeah, Grandma.

[00:05:37] Wow.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_05] Did Truman let you touch his nose? I didn't ask, Mom. Mom, this is a pineapple ghost pepper bourbon sauce.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_08] Okay.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_05] And it's from Cape Cod. Some guy sells it, Al. And you have to go see Al to get it. Well, you can get it online. My friend Lorene ordered it, too. Put it in the schnotes. Amy swears by it. The whole little town swears by it. Is it fabulous? It's as fabulous as Amy is. Of course it is. We're going to be talking to Amy about being fabulous. I could be more fabulous. I mean, I should have a little more fabulous in me. I don't.

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_06] No.

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_05] Amy should have a little more calm down in her.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_06] I need more fabulous in me.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_05] I'm just not fabulous. Amy's fabulous. Naturally, she's just fabulous. Everything's perfect.

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_03] You wear day drinker t-shirts.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_05] I have my wonderful favorite Niagara Falls shirt on.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_03] It's wonderful, yeah.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_05] That's really good. I get it. It's very good. It's not as hot as I thought it would be. I thought it'd be hotter, but maybe I didn't. Maybe we got to shake it. Oh. No. No. It's like a jelly. No.

[00:06:43] Okay.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_05] It's great. We'll talk to her about it. Yeah. Yeah. She can tell me all about it. Fabulous Al.

[00:06:49] Fabulous.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_05] Um, and so, the Portland show was great. Mm-hmm. I got to go golf with my friend Peter Costas. Yes, that's Peter Costas, the CBS announcer man. Uh-huh. Um, he was getting old and still smacks the shit out of a ball. And his wife, Sandy, is a great golfer. And I went to Falmouth. Or Fal- I never know how they say it. Yeah, Falmouth. His little- his golf course, very, very nice, very fancy. Fun. Um, and, um, and then I just drank at the Portland Lobster Company. Got lobster rolls. Mm-hmm.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_05] It's- it was so not hot. Like, it's 100 here today.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_03] Mm-hmm.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_05] And it's gonna be 101 on Saturday. It's just-

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah, I'm not leaving the house-

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_05] Well, the whole South, I know. And the Midwest, too. Everything's just crazy on fire. But up there, it was so nice. Then I'm like, now I get it. Mm-hmm. This is why people want a summer in Maine. Right. This is why people want a summer in Cape Cod.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_03] Canada.

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ontario. Um, um-

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_03] The polar bears are freaking out, but we're good.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Mm-hmm. The weather was just delightful.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_03] Delightful.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Wow. And I stayed in downtown Portland. It was wonderful. You can walk around. I love downtown Portland. I know there's sketchy areas. It's kind of like the other Portland, both Portlands.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_06] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_05] But, um, the little touristy area, it reminded me of Ireland. Because it stays light for so long at night. And you can hear seagulls all night. And you can hear just, like, voices in alleys. Like, people coming out of the bars and stuff. You don't really hear any traffic. I thought you meant ghosts. No. Voices in alleys. These are very alive. They are alive. Nice. Um, so Truman gave me those. And then, um, that's that. It's upcoming shows. Let's get to it.

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_05] Um, Atlantic City. August 21 and 22. Next weekend. Yep. Mm-hmm. Uh, September 11th and 12th, San Antonio and Austin.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_03] We just released a bunch of tickets in San Antonio.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, okay. Good. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Um, uh, I wonder if my little friend Ron will be home. I'll have to check. September 12th is Austin. 18th and 19th, Tarrytown, Hershey. Uh, 2526, Madison, Prior Lake, Minnesota. October 10th, the Ryman. Nashville. Very fun. Holiday weekend here.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_03] Well. I know. In America. What holiday? Columbus Day, right? It's Columbus Day. Which we've already. Slash Indigenous People's Day. I don't remember what they call it. Oh. I don't either.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_05] I'm probably wrong on that. But. I don't know. As long as I'm off, I don't care. Everybody's off on Monday. You can call it whatever you want. Come on down. Or up. October 16th, Hampton Beach. New Hampshire. I think I was in New Hampshire briefly. I never know on the East Coast. I mean, just this past weekend. I think I went. I don't know. You have to go. Where did you fly into? Boston. Then you have to go through some of New Hampshire. To get to Maine. To get to Maine. Yeah. But it's only like two miles. It's trickery up there. Yeah. You can't.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. I don't know why they got so stingy on those states up there. I'm going to get you a pop-up book map. Do you know who you are? I found the New Hampshire people to be very aggressive. I got flipped off. What? Driving-wise. I got flipped off by a lady who was probably 104. And she was going like 95 miles an hour. And it's, you know, their lives.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_07] What did you do?

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_05] Nothing. I just wasn't going fast enough for her. I don't know. She just went around. I'm like, whoa, Grandma. Okay. Settle down. Live free or die. That's live free or die. I know. I'm like, she's going to die today. I'm driving that fast. Then October 17th is Foxwoods. And then October 22nd is Myetta, Kansas. The Prairie Band Casino. I've never been there. I can't wait to go see what's going on there. It's near Topeka. It is near Topeka.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_05] And I don't even think, I've been to Topeka, but I don't remember if there was a club there. There might have been a Slapsticks Comedy Club back in the day. They had like four.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_03] I've never been to Topeka.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_05] You know. Yeah. Yeah, it's fine. It's Kansas. It's Kansas.

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03] As we've established, everybody in Missouri hates Kansas and nobody knows why.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_05] Well, I don't hate Kansas. I was taught to hate Kansas and I didn't know why. And I'd be like, why do we all hate Kansas? And my dad goes, I don't know. We just do. Okay. Great discussion. Copy that. No. I think there was a Slapstick, Sarah, Comedy Club. I know there was one in Kansas City, Wichita, and probably Topeka. Yeah. Okay. That's just for old time's sake, if anybody remembers that. All you Kansas termites, am I right? Is that right? Let's move on to a couple things before we call Holly Bobby. Holly Bobby.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, the Seattle story about Jimothy. We're going to get into that. That's something from a termite. Okay. So let's just go into some Queen news before we call Holly Bobby. Okay. There's a lot going on. Stevie and Lindsey. Oh, are they getting back together? Are we- Do you believe that?

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_03] He's the one that released it.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_05] Well, he did file for divorce in 2021 during COVID.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_04] But then-

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03] Wait, you think together together? They're getting back together together?

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04] Well, he says they talk all the time.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_03] Like romantically, they're getting back together? I know. Come on.

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_04] I don't know when these people are 80, what counts.

[00:12:02] Wow.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_04] What counts when you're dating at 80?

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_05] A phone call might count as a relationship or a date. I don't know. But they did a documentary. They've been working on a documentary.

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_03] Geriatric dating.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_05] Then he- Well, I think he's 76. And she's 78. Whatever. I just round up. They- He said, we're talking all the time now. Next year should be a very interesting year. Because they have a documentary tied to the 50th anniversary of the band's 1977 Rumors album.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_09] Crazy.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_05] So they're sitting there watching films going down memory lane. And I don't know if he and his wife got back together or not. But if he's sitting there in the house by himself, she's by herself.

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_03] She has to reciprocate. She said she hated him.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_05] Not anymore. No? No. No. No, no, no. I think they got all sentimental watching the videos. That's my guess. He's going to-

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_03] You're totally full of shit.

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_05] We're just talking about- Quite a few things will reveal themselves this coming year. Wow. He dodged a question about a possible tour. The most important thing is that the group surviving members, him, have reconciled and can work together again. But you're missing Christine. Big deal. Big deal. Big deal. Big deal. Yeah. But I think they did go on- Well, they went on tour without her for 10 years when she lost her mind and decided she was going to be a gardener in the countryside of London and walk around in a wax check.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_08] It's so funny.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_05] Can you imagine you're in some tiny pub in bumfuck England and Christine McVie walks in as a regular and you're like, whoa, whoa, that's the Fleetwood Mac lady. Covered in dirt. Yeah, she's got two dogs. Her wax jacket's soaked.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_03] Have you seen my rose garden? What?

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_05] I'm renovating a 12th century castle. It's much more difficult than I anticipated. They quoted three years. I think it's going to take 30. We'll be filling up the moat on Friday. This is how Lindsay talks, though. He's so weird. I think the process of making that has been a very circular healing process for all of us because the way we had left things in 2019, maybe as far as I was concerned, not in a very good place for all the wrong reasons.

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_05] You got fired. You got fired. Because Stevie had had it. Stevie said, he's rolling his eyes when I'm talking. It's on film. He's a petulant child. Well, she does talk too much. I love Stevie, but some of the stories could be chipped down just quite a bit. I'm sure he's sick of it, but that's part of the package. Stevie's going to talk. Nobody cares. Everybody's fine with it. Stevie's going to talk. I want to tell you a story from 1962. I was in the hate Ashbury. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_05] I'm sure if you have to do that night after night after night, if you're him, you could lose your mind. I think Christine thought it was funny. John doesn't pay any attention, and then Mick doesn't care either.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_03] Guess what? If Christine's not there, then Mick gets an extra 14 minutes in his drum solo.

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_05] Well, that's 14 more beers. I'm going to have that because I leave during the drum solo of Mick. It's too long. So I don't know. You know, is this the thing? I'm on Team Stevie. I think, yes, I do think she's probably a very strange little diva. But he, no. No? No. He's just too into the art of it, and he's too into, I don't know. He's serious. He's a serious person. At least she tells stories, but they're funny.

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_05] Well, her version of funny. She's not a serious person.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_03] She's not a funny person. I know you love her, but.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_05] Well, sometimes I think she's funny just when she drove her Barbie dream doll across the stage and was talking to it. That was ridiculous. That was funny to me.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_03] That took so long.

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_05] To get it.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, my God.

[00:15:53] Oh, wow.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_03] She must be. It's like she didn't know that there was an audience in Madison Square Garden.

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_05] I know. We are in Madison Square Garden. Wake up. Chop, chop, pay attention. She's got the remote control. Here comes my Barbie. Oh, my God. I'm sure the band is like, holy fuck, are we going to do this every night? Right. Speaking of bands, too, little Rod Stewart. These old guys are dropping like flies. He had to have a heart procedure. He's canceled all of his gigs. Oh. I know. But people were showing clips. It's getting weird.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_05] But my friend Dax for Cheap Trick, they work with him a lot. They like him.

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_08] Yeah.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_05] They said he's fun. You know, so you hate to see him go down in flames, but you guys are, I think he's 81. He was. He'll be fine.

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03] But the touring. He followed you in Niagara Falls. He was the next show.

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, yeah.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_03] He said there were five wardrobe trucks. Five.

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_05] Well, he loves it. He loves it. He loves to dress up. And those Brits can get away with it.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_03] Sometimes you forget pants.

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_05] That's because I'm not a fabulous person. He's fabulous. Him and Amy could go spend a million dollars in a day in one store.

[00:17:05] Totally.

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_04] Other Queen news. Oh.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_05] Are we on team Martha Stewart or team Megan Markle? I think you all know what team. I'm on team Martha. I haven't heard about this. Well, Martha said she was at a dinner party.

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_09] Okay.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_05] And that Megan was there somewhere in California. Okay. And Martha said she didn't speak to her very much at all, just a few words. But she did hear Megan talking about her trip to the palace and visit with the king. Now, she's not supposed to be saying any of that.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_06] Oh, right.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_05] So Martha's kind of bombing her right there, right? And what's her face clap back with? You don't ever. If Martha says it, let it go. Don't fight with Martha.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_03] No.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_05] Well, she clapped back with, she must be confused, which is code for old. Right. It was it. David Foster's. Oh, no. Well, they were up there for some big gala and David Foster just blew past him on the thing. I think he's over it and done. And then she roped him back in. But don't. All right. Here's what Martha said. This is what exactly what she said.

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_05] I had dinner with Megan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. She had just gotten back from the palace. I didn't really talk to her more than to say a couple of words, but I know she was talking about it.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_08] Oh, yeah.

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_05] She's not supposed to be. It was all supposed to be secret. So Martha's letting the cat out of that bag. And then Megan said her account was completely untrue. Megan didn't talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time. This is where this is where Martha really slams her.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_09] OK.

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_05] She said, if you're an actress, speaking of Megan, it's hard to then transition to a princess. Then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show, it doesn't sort of follow. So go from there.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04] She doesn't like Martha.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_05] Actually, one of my friends produced her show all those years. And he said, Martha is what she is. But she's very professional. And she's very serious about business. As long as you do your job, she's fine. Cool. Like, she's not crazy. She's not mean. She's just strict.

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_03] That's why she's a bazillionaire.

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. She runs a tight ship. Put it that way.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_03] Cool.

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_05] But I think she's sincere. I believe Martha. I'd never do 99% of the shit she does. I would not go arrange flowers. I don't care. I don't care enough. But Megan, you can't just be that.

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_08] No.

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_05] You have to really be that. Right. And I think Megan's just doing it for, what else are you going to do? Yeah. Unless you're going to go try to get back on suits that a show I never even saw. I know. So, I'm voting. I say, this is also think, okay, so Megan and Harry, they, sometimes when you're called an executive producer of something, all it means is you gave money. It could be $5,000. Really?

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_04] Yeah. No. It's a title. It's a title.

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_05] You get that title if you donate. Now, how much? It depends. You could be an executive producer of a Broadway show if you dump half a million bucks in it. Oh, my God. Yeah. Wow. But some of these, like, this is a documentary about Girl Scouts and the cookies and all that shit. So, they could have just given a minimal amount for them, 20 grand or something, and boom, you're an executive producer. But they're going to be the ones doing the publicity for this. It was such a bomb at the box office.

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_05] It was beaten by a movie that is a compilation of cat videos.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_04] Oh, my God. I mean, these two cannot even donate money to a movie that, apparently, it's terrible.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_05] And it's a good topic, the history of the Girl Scouts. I might watch that. Yeah. But now that I've read all the reviews, I mean, no, but I also don't want to support her. But it made $327,000, falling short of the weekend's top 10 releases. Each screening earned under $1,000.

[00:21:19] Oh, my God.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_05] There's more money made at a comedy club every night.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_03] There's more money made by the Girl Scouts than cookies on a Saturday.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_05] There's more money made at my late bar at lunchtime. The fuck, $1,000.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_03] That hit plane.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_05] A compilation film of cat videos submitted by fans from around the world. Cat Video Fest 2026 did make the top 10. Cat Video Fest. I would totally watch that, despite being released. It earned $800,000. That's crazy. Yeah. So there you go, Megan. It's not going well for those two. The grift keeps grifting, but it's going to end poorly. Wow. All right. Let's call Holly Bobby, and then I'll get into some updates. Okay.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_05] I told him I'd call him around now. I haven't heard back from him, though. I hope he's...

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_03] What's he doing today? I don't know. Is he ready with Fabulous Hollywood?

[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_05] Yes. He has something he wants to talk about.

[00:22:09] Oh, that's good.

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know what it is. I mean, he told me, but I don't really understand. Let's see.

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_03] Holly Bobby. Boom.

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_05] He's under Bob Universal. Universal Television.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_03] It's Universal Bob. Wow. Universal Bob.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_05] Is he not answering?

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_09] Bobby.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_05] Hello? Sorry, guys.

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, he hung up. Hang on. Let's try to call him again.

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_05] He might be driving.

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, here he is.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. That's my phone, right? Hi, Bobby.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_03] Hi, Bobby.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_05] Hi. Hi. Are we on the podcast?

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_03] We're on the podcast. Guten tag. Guten tag. We're only 24 hours late.

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02] I'm at Hulu right now in a meeting. Can I call you when I leave the meeting?

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_04] Sure. Call anytime.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, you're at Hulu? Tell them that I don't like their app on my TV. It's not organized right.

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02] Okay. I'll let them know, but we're talking about the shards, and I want to call you back about the shards, okay? Are the termites listening right now? Yes. Yes. Okay. All right. Let me finish this meeting, and I'll call you back.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_05] Tell Hulu if they want to buy my next special. It's for sale. It's for sale.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_02] Okay. Okay. All right. It's really good. Bye. Bye, Bobby.

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_04] I love that he took the call.

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_03] I know. I'm in a meeting with Hulu. Excuse me. I have to take this.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_04] I don't. Their app is slow on my TV.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_05] Maybe other people's it's not slow, but it's slow, and I don't like the way it's organized. No. No.

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_06] No.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_05] So we'll have to have a... I'm going to make Bob get on that.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_06] Okay. Update!

[00:24:02] Nice. Yeah.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_05] So FIFA.

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_06] Oh, God.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05] The soccer, the World Cup people. This guy's trying to sell it. They've pretty much stopped him. Gianni Infantino.

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_03] I love that he just decided he was going to do that.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_05] I know. Well, and he... But now they want to throw him out. Plus, there's a thing with the mistress they had to pay off. He's just not good for the sport.

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_09] What are you talking about?

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah, he had a mistress and they had to pay her all this money to shut the fuck up. I don't really... I didn't get into it. I didn't really care.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_03] About how corrupt they are? We need to get into this. This is salacious.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_05] Well, I'll do it for next week because I just really didn't care so much. I care about him trying to sell FIFA. FIFA and he's BFFs with Trumpy and Trump says they're going to really lose out if they get rid of Gianni.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_03] I forgot about that.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_05] But also, what do they care? They don't care. I mean, they don't care what... I don't think they care what Trump says. I think if they want to get rid of him, they're going to get rid of him.

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_03] They probably don't care what Trumpy says right now because we're finished with the World Cup in the US.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_05] Right. There's no attention on it. But I think now would be the good time to throw him out. And I absolutely would throw him out. He's facing an all-out revolt from global soccer leaders after a disastrous scheme to sell off a chunk. He was going to sell 20 or 25%.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_06] It's crazy.

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_05] And Josh Kushner was going to buy it. Well, clearly he's been told no and Josh just went and bought the Lakers. That took three days. I'll show you. Well, what a loyal soccer fan you are. I love soccer. The minute you... I love soccer. No, I love basketball. I love basketball. He said he's fantastic. Having just presided over the most successful World Cup by four times ever presented. If he's gone, it will never be as successful or profitable again. No, it's its own thing.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_05] It makes its money because of the history of it. It's not about who's really in charge.

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_06] No.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_05] So, so far they haven't kicked him out, but I think it's coming.

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_06] Really?

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_05] That's just an update. Update.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_06] Love it. Update.

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_05] It's kind of cool. It's been nearly a year since Las Vegas went off to see The Wizard. And since then, over 450 million in tickets have been sold to more than 3.6 guests who have taken the journey to Oz on the Las Vegas Strip. So great. It's so great. We are two of those tickets. I know. Yeah. I'm proud to be part of the 3.6 million.

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_03] Maybe they'll renew it.

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_05] They will. They got nothing else. That movie about the planet.

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, remember we read they were extending it to like the normal. They are. Yeah.

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_05] They should have it every day there. Instead of that Postcards from Earth, the saddest movie I've ever seen. God, they just tell us the world's ending and there's too much plastic. And then they try to sell me a plastic cup on my way out. I'm like, did you not see the movie? Yeah, it had a battery in the bottom to make it blink. Sphere. Sphere. Update. Did you guys watch The Five Star Weekend? I really did enjoy it. I loved it.

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_05] The lady, Jennifer Gardner, is sort of a version of my sister-in-law, Amy. Very fabulous. If she has a party, like you get a gift when you leave. Stuff that I would never, ever, ever think of. No, I'd be like, pick up your beer cans on the way out. Thanks. Bye. Could you throw all that shit in the trash? Okay. Well, Five Star Weekend has been renewed for season two after becoming Peacock's most watched scripted series ever. But I love Chloe Sevigny. She was in it.

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_05] A lot of good people. So I'm very excited about that.

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_06] Nice. Update.

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_05] Data center update.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_06] Uh-oh.

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_05] No, it's good.

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_06] Good?

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_05] Because I really care about the animals. The Nashville Zoo data center. What comes next after Metro Council's vote for eminence? So the Metro Council took the land that the guy, whoever, wanted to make a data center. It's way too close to the zoo. It's way too noisy. Those animals will never sleep. It's too bright. It's just shitty.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_08] Right.

[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_05] And so for once, the mayor here did something. I don't know what Freddie does 90% of the day. I know. But they've claimed eminent domain. Oh, great. So it's still going to be this giant fight. It's very complicated. I will not bore you guys with it. The move. Metro's Council voted to authorize the use of eminent domain to purchase a land owned by DC Blocks, blocking the company's plan to build a data center. So that's step one.

[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_05] It will cost the taxpayers $37 million, well above the $23 million that they paid for the property, and a legal fight with the company could drag on for months. That's fine.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_09] Yeah.

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_05] Do it. Right. Why are you going to do this to the animals? Like, they're the least, you know, protected. Like, they're innocent. Like, up all night with that.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_03] It's loud.

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Very loud.

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_03] I'm going to break them out.

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_05] We're moving on. Tell me, would you drink this? A 162-year-old bottle of Guinness has been discovered by divers in a shipwreck. Oh, I wouldn't. I wouldn't. As much as I love Guinness. But scientists hope DNA inside the beer could help recreate the original 1864 recipe.

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, that's pretty cool. Wait, do we not have the original recipe right now?

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. I wondered that, too. I've been to the Guinness Museum in Dublin, too. I should know this shit. I guess I didn't pay attention on the tour.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_03] Between Guinness. Mm-hmm.

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. But also, I love Guinness now. I mean, well, I guess I'd like to taste what it started as. I wonder if... But I probably wouldn't like it as much as what I like.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_03] I wonder if the way they brew it now makes it taste different. Forget the recipe. You know what I mean?

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_05] Probably. I would think for sure. I'd like to taste the old one, but I'd probably still want the current one.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_03] Because you're good at science. You're a scientist when it comes to beer. You're a beer scientist.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_05] No. I do think it's cool, though. They found the bottle. And the guy's so happy. The little diver guy where they show it. He looked cute. 162 years ago, somebody was having a Guinness on a boat. Good for them.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_03] We need to get a brewmaster to help us with these things.

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_05] Well, I know one in Pittsburgh. You do? Well, I know him through Bill Crawford.

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_05] He's Iron City Light.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_03] Let's ask him if it changes the taste.

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_05] Could you recreate it from DNA?

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_03] Right.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. Holy shit, they found it. This is crazy. Sunken Nazi ships and woolly mammoth bones surface as Danube's river goes to record lows.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04] It's a total ship show. Get it?

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_05] Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Scores of sunken World War II ships, rusty old Nazi battleships among them, have suddenly surfaced in Europe's Danube River as its water level plunges to new lows. Like, that's not good. No. But it's cool to find this stuff. The underwater treasures also include woolly mammoth bones. They've emerged while a summer drought and heat wave scorches Eastern Europe. At least 20 of the dazzling warships, some still equipped with weapons from Nazi Germany's Black Sea fleet, can be sticking out of the river. Wow.

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_05] I would go get it.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_05] Maybe it's too expensive. One ship with a weather-worn hull and broken mast where a Nazi flag once flew has enthralled passerbys near the Serbian port of Prahovo. No idea.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_03] No.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_05] No.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_03] Put it in the schnouts.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05] No. The German commanders deliberately sank up to 200 ships in September of 1944 in the Danube Gorge as they came under Soviet fire. Some were pulled from the river by communist Yugoslav authorities, but most have remained there due to explosives that they hauled. So that's why they left them.

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_03] Gotcha.

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_05] It could blow up.

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_03] Right. Yeah. Hmm. Wow.

[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_05] Big ships can't even get through there anymore. It's so shallow. So that, the river, which is Europe's second longest river.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_03] Oh.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_05] Flows through 10 countries. Cool. There's also woolly mammoth bones on the riverbed in Bulgaria. That's pretty cool. Go get them. Just as a side note. Rounded jaw and tusks fragments. Yeah. What else is down there? Just as a side note. Fabulous. Funny. News. We're moving on to news. Oh, wait.

[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_03] You want to call?

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. You want to call Amy? Let's call. So, I made a video with my sister-in-law last weekend. They live in Cape Cod. Her and my brother, Joe. And Amy.

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_03] Everybody loves Amy.

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_05] Amy's fabulous.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04] So, I made the video, the podcast video with Amy. Mm-hmm. And everybody went crazy about her hat. Yeah.

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_05] Like, these are the tiny things that make Amy fabulous. You could say, Amy, meet us out at the farm at noon. And she shows up, like, in the perfect farm outfit.

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_08] But it's, like, still attractive. Right.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_05] It's not like, I've got on, like, one of my dad's flannel shirts and my mom's mud boots. I look homeless. Yeah. Or crazy. Amy, but she's got on the perfect flannel from Frank and Eileen. And the perfect farm pants. And look, they have pockets. It's just, it's a knack. I don't have it. I never will. But I can learn little things. So, anyway, in the video, we have these hats on.

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_08] Mm-hmm.

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_05] Everybody compliments her hat. Nobody says anything about my hat. But here's the thing. My hat was her hat. I borrowed that from her. Oh. And I said, I think it's just that you're tan. Oh. She just looks better.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_03] She looks more of a beach person?

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, she looks like she completely belongs in Cape Cod. I look like I belong in the Ozarks on a dock with a Zubco reel trying to catch a shitty catfish.

[00:33:41] That's it.

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_05] Yes.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_03] I want to drink with Amy. It was fun.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_05] Well, we're going to ask her about these hats because everybody.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_03] Does she really have a garden? I saw your video about the.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_05] Yes, she has a fabulous garden. It's fabulous.

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_03] All of that brunch came from a garden? Yes.

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_05] Wow. Yes. And she still has a job.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_03] Amazeballs. Yes. Okay.

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04] Yeah. Just when you think something more fabulous can't appear, it does.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_03] Okay. Well, what is she under in your phone?

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_05] Amy. Amy? Oh. Okay. Well, let's call Amy. There's probably a few. What are we going to call this segment? Fabulous living by Amy. She's going to teach people that aren't fabulous how to be fabulous.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_03] How to be more fabulous.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_05] We're going to start with the hats. Okay. Where do you buy these hats? How much do they cost?

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_03] Let's call Amy.

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_05] I'm sure nothing's cheap. Let's see. But you know what? She always tells my brother, you have no idea how lucky you are, how much money you save. I only get my hair cut twice a year. Really? So that's a savings.

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_03] Fabulous. I know. She's not a big salon person. Okay. Here we go. See how this works.

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_05] Hey, cat. Hi, Amy. Welcome to the podcast. Hi, Amy. Welcome to the podcast.

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_00] Thanks. I'm from sunny Cape Cod. Yeah.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04] What's the temperature?

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_00] Oh, gosh. It's like perfect. 75 degrees. Of course it is. And perfectly sunny. I have all the windows open, doors. It's gorgeous.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_00] A little bit of humidity, but not much.

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_03] You know what it is?

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_05] It's fabulous.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_03] It's fabulous.

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_00] It's fabulous.

[00:35:24] It's fabulous.

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_05] So it's not fabulous here in Nashville. It's 100. Oh, yeah.

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_00] I can't. No. Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope. This is why New Englanders don't leave New England. Right.

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_05] Ever.

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_00] We don't leave. Ever. Nope.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_05] I wouldn't either. Now I'm sad I'm not there. We miss you. So we put the video up and everybody complimented your hat in the video, but not my hat. And the irony is my hat is your hat. Which is hilarious. Well, it's just really, I think you're tanner and look better. You look more like Cape Cod. I look more like the Ozarks. Let's just admit that. And I'm ghost.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_00] Well, it takes a couple of days to kind of loosen up up here. So, you know, you were in and out. You didn't have enough time.

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_04] To be fabulous?

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_00] No.

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_04] It takes a little longer to be fabulous.

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_03] Fabulous takes 72 hours.

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_05] Cape Cod is a vibe.

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. Completely. Completely. Completely. Yeah.

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_05] Well, you wouldn't understand Cape Cod if you don't have somebody who lives there to show you. It's not obvious. Like you go to the lake in the Ozarks and go to a lake house. It's obvious. There's the lake. There's a boat. Jump in the water. You know what I mean? But Cape Cod, everything's kind of hidden.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_00] And you need someone who knows the nooks and crannies. Because we don't let the terrorist know where all the fun things are. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We let them in for about two and a half months. But we really don't tell them where to go. We give them a sign that says beach that way. And then the really cool beaches and all the really fun stuff, we don't advertise that part.

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_04] Oh, you're hoarding. Yeah. Well, I would too. We hoard. I keep it a secret.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_00] We hoard the good stuff.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04] So tell people about these hats.

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_00] Yes. Okay. And I have a lot of nonsense about hats. I've been wearing them my whole life. My grandma, I had a very eccentric grandma who had me wearing one when I was a little girl. And I've been wearing them forever. There's so many different hats, Kat. And you love hats. I mean, I've seen you wear golf hats, baseball hats. Well, I have my...

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_05] I have a very fabulous hat, but it gets smashed in the luggage. So I usually take my smashed one.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00] Well, I have a solution for that. Wonderful. And I'm kind of like what I want to talk about today is, A, the different types of hats, what kind of style you might want to wear if you have a tiny head or you have a big head, and then where to find these great hats. Yeah, where do we find them?

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_05] How much are they?

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_00] Well, here's the thing. They range in price. So if you want like a beautiful Eric Javits hat, which he's the infamous squishy hat maker.

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_05] I've never heard of him. Squishy hat. Okay. What's his name again?

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_00] So Eric Javits, and he invented the squishy hat in 1985 was his claim to fame.

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_07] Wow.

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_00] He was getting out of design school. And I think like, I don't know, he'd only been out for like a week. And a buddy of his was headed to Studio 54, and he designed this hat for him. Of course he was. And then it became the squishy hat. And now if you touch an Eric Javits hat, it's going to cost you about $350. Oh, my God.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_05] But it'll last a lifetime, right?

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. It will last a lifetime. You do have to be careful with the bands. As I will tell you, it has happened to me because I do have one that I wear on the beach, and I accidentally touched the rim with some sun cream, and it is kind of bleached it out a little bit. But I still love it, and I still get compliments when I wear it. Actually, I think it's the one you had on. The one that's a little untidy.

[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_05] Nobody said anything about my hat.

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_00] Right? That's okay. We're going to get you one. We'll get an Eric Javits hat for you.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_05] All right.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_00] Well, the hat that I had on, funny enough, is a Scala hat, which is actually an Italian brand, but they've been in the United States since 1988. They wanted to bring the Italian millinery traditions into America back in the 80s and combine the two, which I find really funny because, remember, in the 80s, people were bathing with baby oil and butter and putting sun in their hair. So I don't know why they thought Americans were really into sun production.

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_00] What's that word you said? Millinery? Yeah, millinery. That's the proper term for hat makers. Yeah. Oh, I never heard that. Like the woolen mills. I know, right? I know really a stupid amount of information about this topic. And then the other one, remember how you were saying that all your hats get really smashed when you travel?

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_07] Mm-hmm.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_00] There is a company called the San Diego Hat Company, and I really, really, really like them. They were founded in 1993 by a gal who went to Bali and found this cotton crochet bucket hat. And she brought it back to the States. I think they're just right outside of San Diego. And a really great hat company. And so what's her job, kind of what she took it upon herself is to find the perfect hat that you could roll up. Oh, yeah. Top it in a suitcase. Yes.

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_00] And then it unrolls and it's perfect. And she did it? Yeah. And if you, so if you travel, as you know, you travel all the time and I travel quite a bit as well. I always have a San Diego hat in my bag because it folds up, rolls up and it rolls out. And I look fabulous as I'm walking out of the plane. Nice.

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_03] No matter what your hair looks like.

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_00] No.

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_05] You are the lady that would walk off the plane with the perfect outfit on. I do.

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. I do. I do. I have a perfect hat for my perfect outfit when I land wherever I go.

[00:40:49] No. Super important.

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04] Is this called the landing outfit?

[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_00] It's the landing outfit. Well, it's more the landing hat. And then I build around my, I build my outfit around my hat. Oh. Because you have bed head. You're on a plane for all those hours and you look terrible. And then you pop a hat on and everyone's like, oh my gosh, look at that fabulous lady walking down. Well, you know, it's the hat. That's the best.

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_04] It does change your, I don't know, it changes how you feel.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_05] Well, and think of like Anthony Hopkins when he wore the hat in Hannibal Lecter. He's just different.

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_05] You know, he's cooler at the end when he comes back with the hat, the glasses and says, I'm meeting a friend for dinner.

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. Talk to anyone, any costume designer. And a hat is a wardrobe game changer. I mean, really. All right. And everybody looks good in a hat.

[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_05] So we're going to put the link to your hat in the show notes. Yep. And, um, this note that I'm going to go look up the rest of these hats. Cause I need, I need a San Diego hat. I need one that can be crunched up in a carry on.

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_00] Those are three great hat makers. How much do those cost? So an Eric Javits, that's going to set you back about 350 bucks. But it's actually. Sometimes they're on sale, but not a lot, but they are a hundred percent sun protection. You've got a UPF of plus 50 on every one of his hats.

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_07] Cool.

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_00] Which is really great for summer. Um, you know, cause you don't want wrinkles and all the other stuff that comes with that. Can't skin cancer, blah, blah. No. Um, San Diego hats really range. I mean, you can find a decent one on sale for 80 bucks. Cool. Okay. But what if I'm probably going to set you back about 200?

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_05] What if I'm going online to do this? Do I need to know my head size?

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_00] Yes. So what you want to do is take a measuring tape of like a soft measuring tape. Don't go, don't go outside to your garage and try and find one of those metal ones. Okay. That's exactly what I've been doing 45 minutes from now. Slice your eyes out. Exactly. Right. And then, yeah, yeah. So you want to get one of those. And you know, you can go to like a fabric store and they have them on the counters. You can just measure your head real quick. Measure, you know, measure your feet, whatever.

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_03] Your friends at Hobby Lobby, Kat.

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. And then you'll have a better idea. But it, you know, for you, you have a tiny head. You have a tiny head. So if you have a tiny head, you can get away with really anything. Floppy hat, pescadora, fedora, cowboy hat, bucket. You're going to look great in anything. But you may need, and this is, this is really important. If you do have a tiny head, sometimes you can find that foam adhesive tape, like at any hardware store and kind of put it around the inside of the brim.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_00] And then that way the hat actually sits up on your head instead of, you know.

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_03] Amy, I think we're going to do a video. I think you're going to have the help of the video on adhesive tape and a hat from a hardware store. Where'd you go today, Kathleen?

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_05] Well, I snuck into a fabric store. I measured my head. And then I went to the hardware store.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_00] That was the A's hardware. I got some foam. I stole some foam.

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_05] I talked to an old man out of giving it to me.

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_00] And now I have this amazing hat. But people with larger heads, though, you could still wear hats. You're still going to look beautiful. But you need to make sure that it has a really wide or medium-sized brim and a deeper crown. So that that way you kind of look proportional to the hat.

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_05] That's what we're trying to do, paddles. Make your head look proportional.

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_03] Amy, I have a very large head. So I may have to call you and figure this out. That's like an extra, extra large. I don't think a tape measure will make it around my head.

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_00] Borrow the extra large one from the Hobby Lobby lady. May I have? Yeah, exactly. Can I have two of them, please? So my two tips that I want you to walk away with is if and when you do find the style of hat that you love, you always buy two. So once you wear it around and you know, oh my gosh, I love this hat, I love it, buy another one. Because ultimately that hat will end up fading or tearing or getting wet and reshaping and you'll be really sad.

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_00] And there's nothing worse than looking amazing in an old faithful that you can't find anymore. So you've got to think about maybe purchasing too if you love one. It's an investment in your fabulousness. Exactly. Well, it's like anything. You know, if you like a pair of jeans and they rip, you know, you're kind of really bummed out. Right. Okay. And then my other fast fact is keep your hats organized. And I, of course, am very organized. My hair on the floor. So you want to organize them by how you wear them and when.

[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_00] So for example, you can get a little basket of all your golf hats and they're right there by the back door right before you walk out for golf.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_07] Oh.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_00] And then or take your good ones and pop those in a basket kind of up and away. So those would be the ones you wear when you travel or if you're going out for dinner. Cool. So they don't get mixed up with all the sweaty ones that your bucket hats that you're walking in.

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_03] Okay. No sweaty bucket hats here. No.

[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_00] No sweaty bucket hats. No. That's right. All right. It is a game changer. Enjoy wearing your hats, girls. All right.

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_04] Think of something else for fabulous for us. Yep. We'll call you later. Okay.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_06] Thanks, Amy.

[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_03] Stay fabulous. Stay fabulous. Nice to meet you. Bye.

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_05] I'm going to ask some old man that works there. Do you have any foam for the inside of my San Diego hat? My $300 hat? No, but her hats are great. I mean, I make fun of Amy lovingly. We all joke about Amy. Yeah. But she really is fabulous. She looks fabulous getting off of a plane. She looks fabulous getting out of a cab. Like, I never have my shit together that much.

[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_03] That candle she's hanging downstairs. I could do better.

[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_05] I'm going to steal. The candle's great.

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_03] Like, where do you find this shit?

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know.

[00:46:40] I don't know.

[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_03] We'll get it for the schnotes.

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_05] No. I found a lobster rope. Oh, no. Yeah. Lobster rope doormat.

[00:46:52] [SPEAKER_03] Made out of a lobster rope.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. It's in Portland. And I lugged one down for her. That's nice. Yeah. Well, I was driving so I could take it. Seems large. Like, I don't know. Occasionally, I find something that I'm like, that's different and cool. She does it every day. Moving on to news. Nice. To a Holly Bobby calls us back.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_03] Boom. Well done, Amy.

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. The Buffalo Bills just got a new stadium. Oh, I saw this. I know, but this is what the stadium's saying. Bills Mafia won't be doing backflips when they sit down in some of their seats at their brand new, highly expensive, high-mark stadium. After a massive $2.2 billion price tag, $850 million, which was taxpayer money, some of the seats are obstructed views. And people are like, fuck you. Like, you can't even see half of the, there's a picture of one. You can't even see it. Now, the bills say those aren't for sale.

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_03] I don't, there was a lot of people with, here are my seat numbers. Here's my view. I mean, there's a lot of people with that.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_05] Well, if you're going to buy a PLS, the PSL. PSL. PSL. I would think you'd go down there or at least see the map, the visual, the map.

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_03] I think they had to buy these so far in advance.

[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_05] They didn't know what was going to happen.

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_03] You know how, like, they're doing it at the Titans Stadium right now, where, you know.

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_05] The Titans are $75,000.

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_03] For a PSL. PSL for one seat. You should explain what that means for people who aren't sports people.

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. Well, it's called a, it means personal seat license. All you're doing is buying that license to have the right to buy a ticket. So that hasn't even bought you your ticket yet.

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_06] Right.

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_05] And the Titans, seemingly forgetting they're the Titans, they want $75,000 for one PSL. Okay. And like, I have a friend and he does have a lot of money. And he goes, yeah, but you get free access to the Lexus Lounge and free booze. I'm like, do you really think you can drink $75,000 worth of vodka? It's a lot of vodka. I mean, that's a lot. And you want a parking spot. You shouldn't be driving. What's one or the other? You're either going to get,

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_05] you know, drink all your vodkas. But yes, 75 grand. I don't know how much the bills were. I don't know. I don't know if those seats were for sale. But I, yeah. A lot of cleanup to do though. Maybe it's just not, you know, maybe they're not selling those.

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_03] But the company that designed it, didn't they do like, was it SoFi? Was it?

[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_05] No, not SoFi, but they did do another famous one. Something like that. Yeah.

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_03] So it's not like they just built a stadium without any.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_05] No. And there's going to be maybe, you know, you would expect, I don't know, 20 seats to be fucked up just because eventually how are we going to build a perfect circle? But I would have thought by 2026, we'd have figured that out. Right. I mean, they built the Coliseum in Rome a thousand years ago or whatever. There were no obstructed seats. No.

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_03] No. No.

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_05] Boom. Moving on. Moving on. Now I can just picture

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_03] you with a foam hat.

[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_05] Oh. I don't know, I do not know why I think this is so funny. Brad Pitt says he's drinking again after seven years of sobriety. I've never heard anybody announce publicly I'm back off the wagon. Here we go. Yeah. He said he's drinking again in moderation.

[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_03] There's usually an incident. He's off the wagon

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_05] something, what the hell, seven years. The topic after, came up after Pitt offered the interview a glass of wine prompting him to wonder whether the wine was only for guests. He said, no, I got sober for seven years and then I got back off the wagon. He said with a little laugh before holding up a finger to emphasize the next part in a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times and went, yep, nope, not for me, not in big quantities. I've just never heard anybody go, hey, I'm drinking again.

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_05] But I mean, maybe he thinks he'll get seen or photographed or maybe he's trying to get ahead of it. I don't know. But I didn't even realize he was on the way. Like, who cares? I don't even care. I don't even understand why these are announcements.

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_03] Usually there's an incident and then they go, you know. Right, you have to explain yourself. Speaking of my Stevie book. Maybe he's anticipating an incident.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. I heard he was kind of a wild drunk. One of his daughters

[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_03] had a comment but I never read it. well, Brian and Angie,

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_05] I mean, they're both so, who do you believe?

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_03] I know. Yeah.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_05] Speaking of new things, Barbie, this is my Stevie Barbie. Barbie is honoring with

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_09] share. Barbie's right there.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_05] Do not shade on share. Whoa, Stevie's falling off. Barbie is honoring Whitney Houston with a Barbie signature collector doll. Boom. Featuring the outfit she wore in her I Want to Dance with Somebody video. Of course. Yeah. This is more old people fighting. Okay. I just can't. I can't get my head around. Carly Simon takes aim

[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_05] at a strange ex-James Taylor in a brutally honest track after an 18-year album hiatus. Okay. Maybe I Never Loved You. What? Guys, what, can you Google how old Carly Simon? Carly Simon? I say 81. I don't know why I think that.

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, 83. Yeah, June 25th.

[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_05] How old is James Taylor? I would say 80.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_03] 80?

[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_05] Let's see. He's out on the road too.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah. You know his tour manager. Do I? Yep. They got married in 1972.

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_05] Okay, how many years ago is that?

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_03] A lot of years.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_05] A lot.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, he's a Pisces. Yeah, he's 78. She's a cougar.

[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_05] Carly, meow. She has a biting new song on her first album. I mean, what the fuck? Talk about, you must have loved him

[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_04] because you still have enough energy to be mad. You're just throwing shit over the wall and he's like, what? 80s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. I don't know,

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_05] 50 years ago? And you're writing songs? These old people crack me up. Here's another thing I have to say about you. What? Hey, you know what? I had some more thoughts on you leaving.

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_04] So stupid.

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_05] Oh my God. It's her 24th studio album. Here's the lyrics. Maybe I never loved you, but anyway, I thought I did. I married you, we had a kid. That counts for something. This song takes an emotional turn when she questions her feelings for an ex whom she never identifies by name. Maybe I never loved you, yes, and maybe I did, and maybe you never loved me, although God knows you said you did. Oh. Can you imagine?

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_05] No. 83 years old.

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_09] It's crazy.

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_05] You're still sitting thinking about the 70s going, fucker, that motherfucker. I hate it. You said she continues on singing on the track, and maybe it's wrong to wonder how everything kind became forbidden. Simon answered questions, answer again whether or not her and her ex love her, but she has a desire to move forward.

[00:54:20] Oh God.

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_05] The year of Sylvain Singer was married to Taylor from 72 to 83. They shared two kids, Sally and Ben. Sally? Yes.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_03] All the names in the world, and it's a Sally.

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah, and Sally's only 52. That's sort of a throwback name. Yeah. Okay. I don't know. You just don't hear many young people named Sally. It's sort of like my mom's age, really. She hasn't talked to him in more than a decade, but she said she still loves him. I still want to heal him. I still want to make him all right, and I love him so much.

[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_03] That's not your job.

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_05] She doesn't know why Taylor refused to speak to her, but she learned a lot about herself writing a memoir.

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_03] Oh.

[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_05] Okay, this is too much time. I believe she's a Nantucket person.

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_03] I believe she might be a narcissist.

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. I don't think she is, because she, I saw a documentary, and she was the least favorite of her parents. They just said that? They made it obvious.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_03] Oh.

[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_05] The other sisters were, quote, prettier, and they were opera singers.

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, that's fancy. There's a lot going on. They were fabulous. Yeah.

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Here's a, here's a, okay. This is a, I have two psycho stories. This is a good story, though. This should be a, this should be a feel good. Okay. So, we did the story about the octopus going in and freeing the lobsters. Yeah. A lot of people said that was AI.

[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_03] Was it?

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah.

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_03] But it's okay. It was a wonderful story.

[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. Well, the movie that Ron loves, he said it's a great.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_03] Your face looks so sad right now. Oh, did I fall for that? That's okay.

[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. Maybe it was. I don't know. Yep. California has banned octopus farming, becoming the second U.S. state to outlaw the practice for one of the ocean's most intelligent animals. After you see that octopus movie, My Teacher, the Octopus, that Ron told me was the greatest love story that had ever been filmed. Crazy person. Well, it is a great love story, but it's also extremely strange. Yeah. But it does make you see how smart octopuses are. They're great. Yeah. Really, really smart. And, um,

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_03] what's the plural for octopuses?

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_05] Octopi. Octopi? I'm guessing.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_03] Octopi.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know.

[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_03] If not,

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_05] It's also the first state to ban the sale of farmed octopus. The Opposed Cruelty to Octopuses Act took effect in the start of 2025, following Washington's first in the nation ban. Scientists argue they're far too intelligent and complex to be confined in a barren tank. That's great. Yeah. Why do we, why are we doing that? So if somebody has calamari,

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_03] that's a shit. No, I think it's about like, well, it's probably sushi a lot here, but, Oh, yeah. Well, there's a lot of octopus in sushi.

[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_05] What? Really?

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_05] I don't eat it.

[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_03] I don't know. I like it. It's kind of chewy, but, um, you know, well,

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_05] calamari is chewy. And one other animal thing, as long as I'm on an animal to kick.

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_03] Um,

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_05] yes. The pyramids of, of Giza are one of the world's most iconic landmarks, attracting millions of visitors every year. In a major step towards improving animal welfare, Egypt has banned camel and horse rises at the horse rides at the pyramids of Giza, aiming to protect the animals from mistreatment and promote more responsible tourism.

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_09] Nice. Nice.

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_05] They don't need those saddles, all that shit on there. Just so you get to do it on AI, put yourself on a camel if you want a picture.

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_09] You can.

[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_05] Here's some good news. I think this is going to cause a lot of confusion.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_04] Um, okay. You can now officially walk or bike for free from Detroit to Canada. Yay! Over the what? The Gordie Howe International Bridge. Wonderful hockey player.

[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_03] Wonderful hockey player. If you don't follow hockey. wonderful human being. Was he? Yep. I don't really know much about it. Very philanthropic. Oh, that's nice. Where was he from? He loved the Detroit Red Wings. He's Canadian. Hang on. Um, I don't know where he's from.

[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_05] Probably Ontario Gordie. The toll-free multi-use path on the Gordie Howe International Bridge is officially.

[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_03] Oh my God. Open. He's from floral Saskatchewan. Oh, he's a super extra awesome human. Cause Saskatchewan is super awesomely extra boring. And they will all.

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_05] Is it flat like Kansas?

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_03] Just with the Kansas hate again.

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_05] It is not Kansas hate. Yes, it is. No, no, no, I've had a wonderful time in Wichita and Topeka over the years.

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_03] Um, I was just taught that it is Missouri people. It's all the world's mustard crop. French's mustard. All the seeds. I love French's mustard. All the seeds are from Saskatchewan. Oh, well, yeah, he's from there. Oh my God. He's, he's not a Pisces. He's Pisces adjacent. Oh,

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_05] yeah. Well, here's how it works. Um, the multi, the toll free, it's toll free, multi-use path is officially open. As of this morning, this was on August 5th, creating a new way for Detroiters and visitors to cross between Detroit river, between, uh, cross the river between Detroit and Windsor. Detroit is now one of the largest U.S. cities directly connected to Canada. Um, by a bridge you can cross on foot or a bike.

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_05] The bridge also joins a rare group of only about a dozen USA, Canada bridge crossings with established pedestrian access. So this is cool in the summer. It'd be totally fun. It's a 1.4, uh, five miles across the bridge and it's separated. The path is separated from vehicle. I would hope so. Yeah. From vehicle traffic. Um, the full trip between the U S and Canadian border inspection booths cover approximately 1.8 miles. That's a nice walk. Yeah.

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_05] A couple of miles with officials estimating around 45 minutes to cross on foot or 20 minutes, uh, by bike, not including the border processing. See, this is where it's going to get.

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Um,

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_03] there's not a lot to, to check on your person.

[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_05] Um, you know, yeah. Well, here's what you need to know. If you're going to try it, you gotta, the crossing's free. Okay. The Detroit entrance is located at West Jefferson street. You have to have one of the following, a passport, a passport card or a Michigan driver's license, uh, or enhanced state ID. So Michigan people could just go with your driver's license.

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_09] Okay.

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. And then I guess you have to just turn right around and not go into Canada.

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_03] I don't know. I don't know. Okay. It didn't say, yeah, we didn't expand on that. That's okay. I don't, I don't,

[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_05] I don't think they'll let you in without into actual Canada. I think you go to the little thingy and turn your ass around. They're not going to let you wander around Windsor. No. Yeah. That's funny. Um, this is crazy. So this guy in St. Louis, this story went viral. I'm not saying that cause I'm from St. Louis, a golfer.

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_03] Are we doing sports news?

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, this just happens to be one sports story. Yeah. But it's more about being a cheater. Gotcha. It's not really. Yeah. Even if you don't understand golf, you'll, you can follow along with this. Zach Holland, a two handicap amateur golfer. That's a very, very good golfer. Okay. If you don't understand handicaps, you don't need to understand it. Just trust me. Zach is a very good golfer. He played collegiately at William Carey university. I don't know where that is. Um,

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_05] he had to resign from his membership at wing Haven country club after security footage footage showed him I'm faking a hole in one during the members only event. Oh,

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_03] it's Holly.

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_05] It's Holly. Take it.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_03] One second. This is your ringtone.

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_05] This is an adult.

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_03] It's happy. How do you answer your phone? Slide it. Hi, Bobby.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_02] Hi. Are you guys still on the podcast?

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_03] Yes.

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_02] Yes. Welcome.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_06] Welcome.

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_02] I'm in the car now. You called me during the middle of a meeting. I'm Hulu. I was like, I was like, I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back.

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_04] I was so impressed. You pick up and took my call. It's very nice.

[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_02] Well, I knew you were doing the podcast today.

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_05] What are you, what are you doing at Hulu? What was a meeting about? Can you tell us?

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02] Well, well, I can't tell you what we discussed really, but, um, you know, I go to like the companies and stuff like that, like the streamers and the studios and like, you know, your company, your publicist firm, you know, um, 2 PM sharp. Yes. And we just go and we have fun and we talk about who's got what coming out and who I want to book and who they want me to book. And we just talk about stuff like that. So it's fine. It's like a meet and greet. It's fun. But what segment did I interrupt calling so late? What were you talking about?

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, we're just doing news. I was talking about a guy who faked a hole in one in St. Louis and got kicked out of all these tournaments. It's hilarious. Eddie, Eddie's a good golfer. He should have just tried to actually get a hole. Well, we talked to my sister-in-law, Amy about being fabulous because in the video I posted of the, everybody complimented her hat. And here's the thing I had on a hat too. And nobody complimented that hat. And that also happens to be her hat. It wasn't even my, I'm like, wait a minute.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_05] Then it's not about the hat. It's just, Amy looks better. Amy looks like she's from Cape Cod.

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_03] Amy has a vibe.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_05] Amy has a fabulous vibe.

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_02] Amy is from Cape Cod. Yes. She has a home there.

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_05] She's fabulous. So did who does Hulu have anything exciting coming out?

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_02] Hulu has the series of the summer. I've been watching it. Have you guys, everyone's talking about it. Have you watched the shards?

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_05] No. What's it about?

[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_02] Okay. It's based on a Brett Easton Ellis novel. He wrote American psycho. Oh, he wrote less than zero. And I, I didn't like American psycho. I thought that was too weird. I thought it was gross.

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_05] And I thought it was, I thought it was, I thought it was a bit extreme, but I like Christian, whatever his name is. Bale.

[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_02] Christian Bale. Great.

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Yeah. So I did kind of believe, I think the American psycho too, it got too crazy at the end where he's using chainsaws in an apartment. Someone would hear that.

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_02] Of course. Yeah. I can hear it. When I lived in a condo in downtown LA, I can hear people walking across the floor.

[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_05] Let alone chainsaw. Yeah. You can hear it. Yeah. Anyway. So, okay. This guy wrote that. Okay.

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. And Ryan Murphy produced it. It's a limited series, but no, but here's the thing that's so funny. That's so interesting is okay. See if we can connect the dots here. Okay.

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_09] Okay.

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_02] Um, the two leads are a kid named Homer here. And the female lead is Kaya Gerber.

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04] I know. I saw their picture. That's Richard gears, kid. And Sydney Crawford's kid.

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_01] Yes. And they're on the cover of Vogue. And Richard gear and Sydney Crawford used to be married. Oh,

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04] the NEPO babies are just ruling the day. I'm so happy for these babies that they have work.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_05] Cause they have no money. Richard gear, you know, is totally completely.

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_02] But it's so, and I was watching the third episode at my mom's house last night and Kelly is staying at my mom's house. And she goes, it's his mom, the woman from Carrie Lowell. I think her name is from the old law and order. And I go, yeah, I go, but do you know who his dad is? And she goes, no, who I go, Richard gear. And she's like, Oh, this makes total sense.

[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_02] Now she recognized the mom in him from TV, not Richard gear. Oh, well,

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_05] is this show good aside from being NEPO, NEPO baby dominated.

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_02] It's set in 1981. Okay. And Homer is playing Brett, a version of Brett Easton Ellis, the author of the book.

[01:06:03] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_02] And it's about his time growing up in LA on the West side, trying to become a writer. And it's that 1981 and there's a serial killer. On the loose who's kidnapping and killing the kids from his high school. And it's like, and they're all privileged. They're smoking cigarettes and hamburger Hamlet. They're at tower records on sunset where the big blood was. Then tower records is not there.

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_02] They've been recreating hamburger Hamlet around LA. They've create recreated the tower records and they're just living their fabulous life. And then the creepy, um, the girl's dad is Wes Bentley, who you probably know from Yellowstone.

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_05] Wes, which part does he play?

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_02] Is that rip? No, that's cool. How's her. I only care about. Oh, Wes Bentley. I don't know who Wes Bentley is because I don't watch Yellowstone. Oh, but Wes Bentley was also in American. What's the movie?

[01:07:09] And then Benny.

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, American beauty. American beauty. Kathleen. Wes Bentley is Jamie.

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_05] He's Jamie. Oh, Jamie. Oh, okay. So would you recommend shards? Are you recommending it?

[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_02] Well, if you like to watch rich kids running around LA in 1981, lots of Coke and smoking cigarettes, it's a good show. Well, I've, you, you,

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_05] you hooked me on the serial killer that somebody is hunting them. I like that part.

[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. Yeah. And they're disappearing. and like one of the kids is like a drug dealer and he went missing. So everybody's bummed that their drug dealer went missing. Oh, well that would suck.

[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_04] Especially if it was like your weed guy. Yeah.

[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_02] No, he's a Coke guy. He's a Coke dealer. Oh, he's a Coke guy. Okay. Yeah.

[01:07:59] [SPEAKER_05] It was the eighties, I guess. More Coke.

[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah.

[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. So we'll put that on the docket to watch shards.

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_02] Okay, good. All right. And did you, did you tell the term? Are taping on a Thursday or recording on a Thursday? Did I,

[01:08:15] [SPEAKER_05] did I tell them that? No, I didn't, but I'm a day behind because of bad travel.

[01:08:20] Okay. All right.

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_05] I mean, I told them that this is a day late and I apologize for that, but I couldn't help it. All the flights in the East coast got canceled or delayed. It was really shitty. Yeah.

[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_02] Now I've heard that like our friends that live in Chicago during the summer and live in Palm Springs during the winter, they were saying they live in Ohio, rise glass condo building in Chicago. Because of tornado warning.

[01:08:47] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, I know it was yesterday, right? And the day before it was crazy. Indiana got hit and Chicago, downtown Chicago. Like, I don't think they got hit by a tornado, but it looked like one.

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. Yeah. Very scary stuff out there. Well, I'm glad you're home and made it safely.

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_05] Yes. Made it safely. All right, Holly Bobby, if you have any other scoop, you know, you know how to call. Did you, did you see the Megan Markle and Martha Stewart fight?

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_02] Yes. I've been following it.

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, which team are you on?

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_02] Um, is there any question? Team Martha queen? Martha.

[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_04] I can't, I can't believe Megan.

[01:09:31] [SPEAKER_05] I can't believe Megan clapped back at her.

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_04] Just shut up. You know what?

[01:09:40] [SPEAKER_05] And then to say she's confused, that's just calling you super old. Yeah.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04] It's so, it's so ticky tack. Yeah. Just don't hold, hold, hold, hold the house.

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_02] Don't do it. And Martha has pink hair now.

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_04] I saw it. It looks great. Wonderful.

[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_02] I think it looks really good. Yeah. She's, I mean, she's hot.

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_03] She's still hot. Martha's hot.

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. People go, I want to look that good when I'm old. Well, you don't look good now. You're not going to all of a sudden look like a model. Martha was a model.

[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. Well, you know, who's looking good.

[01:10:17] [SPEAKER_05] Who's that?

[01:10:19] [SPEAKER_01] It's Amy.

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, Amy always looks good. She has a hat that per for on purpose for when she D planes.

[01:10:28] [SPEAKER_02] Oh my God. I love it. Isn't that awesome? Yeah. Everybody wants to be Amy. Yeah.

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah.

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. Amy sits down the podcast.

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_05] Well, we called her today to ask her about the hats because, um, everybody wanted to know, I don't know where she got the hats. She just handed me a hat. Cause I said, should I forgot a hat to go on the beach walk. So, but I wear the hat. Nope. Nobody likes a hat. And it's her hat.

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_02] Let me know. Let me know when Amy is coming to Nashville and I'll book a ticket. Yay.

[01:10:59] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. She taught us. She today, she taught us how to measure our head for free. If we go into fabric score and take, and take their tape measure and wrap it around our head. Mm-hmm. I've never measured my head. No. Have you?

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_02] Um, I did. I didn't do it myself, I didn't do it for me when I was buying a hat at the angel store. Oh, I wanted to make sure. Yeah. Cause I don't like those, I don't like those plastic things where you can adjust. I wanted a fitted.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, you wanted a fitted angels hat.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. And she measured my hat.

[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_05] What's your hat size?

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_02] I think it's 17 and three quarters or something. What I remember.

[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_05] All right.

[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_02] But that was like a few years ago when the angels were winning.

[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_05] And that's before your head got larger.

[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_03] Yep. Yes. From drinking too much. I don't like those plastic things. Uh, otherwise.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_02] All right. All right. Goodbye. I'm headed to my next meeting. Where are you going?

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_05] Where are you going next? Oh, Netflix. Tell them I love Nuremberg. Well done.

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_02] All right. I will let them know. I will tell Ted Sarandos if I see him. Okay.

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Or as I say it, Sarandos.

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_02] Or Saranos. Yeah.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_06] Or Saranos. All right. Bobby. Drive safe. Have fun, Talk to you later, Gator. Okay. Bye.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_05] Shards.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_03] Shards. Like of glass.

[01:12:29] [SPEAKER_05] I watched a documentary. I didn't do what are we watching. I did watch a documentary. If you're, if you're a soccer fan about Diego Maradona and it's really, really something. It's very sad. Um, cause his life doesn't end well,

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_09] but yeah,

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_05] but in the beginning, it's just,

[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_09] he's very cute.

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_05] Fabulous. Yeah. He's a little guy too.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_05] He's a shoddy. He's a shoddy. Anyway, let's go back to this golf story.

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_03] Okay. Okay. So when you're in, let's start this over.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_05] Okay.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_05] Zach Holland, the two handicap amateur golfer who played collegiately at William Carey university. I don't know what that is. Resigned from his membership at wing Haven country club after security footage showed him faking a hole in one at the members only event. So at country clubs, just a quick backstory here. Okay. They have member member tournaments, meaning you cite, you, you join up with another member creative force. I mean, you're going to play in this tournament or they have member guests. You can have guests from other country clubs, blah, blah, blah. Okay.

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_05] This is a members only event. Um, during the, a Friday interview with the morning after show, uh, blah, blah is on the radio. He said he admitted to club officials that he faked a hole in one and said his wife and two young children faced online vitriol. Uh, there, you do something as dumb as I did. There are consequences for that. Okay. That's good. At least Zach knows this. So this is what he did.

[01:13:53] This is so crazy.

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. And then Brian told me another one that's even fucking crazier. Oh, I know what it was. Um, but anyway, Holonix, he explained that he placed his golf ball in the cup at the par three fourth hole before the start of the event. So he snuck out there.

[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_09] Are you kidding?

[01:14:11] [SPEAKER_05] Which includes a hole in one prize pot. And then he lied to his partner. So here's what he did. Um, he just said, there's no excuse for what happened. He told his, Oh, here's the, I could, I already read it,

[01:14:22] [SPEAKER_03] but let me get first out. Like, how do you know that? Like, why would you place that? There's going to be so many people playing through that. Are you the first out in the morning?

[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know. Nobody addressed that.

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_05] I, I don't know. Okay. After completing the first three holes with his group, Holland told his, he's a chubby guy. He told his playing partners. He needed to take a personal phone call, allegedly regarding his ill grandmother, father, and that he would tee off on the fourth hole ahead of them and meet them later on the green.

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. That's extremely strange.

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_03] It's a lot of detail too.

[01:14:59] [SPEAKER_05] All right. Yeah. And why? So you want to race ahead and tee off while we're still putting, I guess?

[01:15:05] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. Okay. Um, I, I've seen,

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_03] throw grandma under the bus. Well, right. Um, yeah,

[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_05] he eventually returned to the group and explained that he thinned his tee shot, but wasn't sure where it landed thinning. I mean, you didn't hit it correctly. You hit partially correctly. Okay. And it kind of skulls away and you don't know where it went. That's what he claimed.

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_06] Okay.

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_05] That's when his group found the ball in the cup and celebrated what they believed was a hole in one by Holland. Security footage reviewed, uh, by wing Haven staff showed him driving near the fourth green before his scheduled tee time.

[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_09] Okay.

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_05] Resulting in him confessing to faking a hole in one. I made a bad decision, blah, blah, blah. I made a terrible mistake. He's worried about his family. Uh, he had to resign from the country club.

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_09] I mean,

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_05] what a psycho. But then Brian told me little Dorf, he was golfing somewhere up on the East coast at a fancy ass place. And this guy, uh, he teed off and it was a par four. So that's a longer hole for you. People who don't golf, it doesn't matter. Usually holding ones are on par threes. It's a shorter hole, but this is a longer hole. He, they can't, they get up there. They don't see his ball. He then says, I found my ball in the rough.

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_05] It's off to the side of the green. Okay. But you know, fine. Chip it on. Blah, blah. Then they found his ball in the hole. No. Oh, so he actually got a hole in one, but he lied above. He dropped him. He went, Oh, I found it. But he dropped an extra one out of his pocket and saying, I don't know. So the whole thing was called off. He's kicked out. There's so much cheating this summer.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_03] Can you, can you do like a two second version of what it can take to get into these country clubs? Like they're throwing away a lot of.

[01:16:54] [SPEAKER_05] Well, I mean, depending on the club, the, the cheapest one is.

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_03] But I mean, also forget, forget the money, which is extensive. Like the process for joining a country club in a lot of these places.

[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_05] A lot of them, you have to get sponsors. You have to go play rounds with members. I mean, those are the super fancy ones. Like I know in LA, this whole process of all this insanity. Yeah. It's a big deal.

[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_09] It's crazy.

[01:17:20] [SPEAKER_05] So to get kicked out is a very big deal. Just idiotic. And wow. Psycho. Are you that you're like, I'm going to, and he celebrated and he jumps up and down. Then you act it out.

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah.

[01:17:33] [SPEAKER_05] Like you act surprised and you're leaping around. I'm like, Oh my God. Oh, this is what I wanted to talk to Bobby about. Dang it.

[01:17:41] [SPEAKER_03] Save it for next week.

[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_05] Okay. Yeah. I'm so excited.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_03] He's walking into Netflix.

[01:17:46] [SPEAKER_05] Oh,

[01:17:46] [SPEAKER_03] right. Shit.

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_05] Was he walking in right that minute?

[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_03] No. Or is he still driving? He's still driving. Call him back. Okay. Let me turn, let me turn your Samsung galaxy on again, which will take four hours. Oh, golly. Samsung galaxy is powering up. Who says that? It's powering up. Powering up. Wow. Wow.

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_05] I don't know how you live with this thing. Truman, Sienna's friend has a Google phone.

[01:18:20] [SPEAKER_06] Well,

[01:18:21] [SPEAKER_05] he was really weird. I mean, his phone is very strange, but yeah. And he likes that he's not part of the threads and stuff. And I kind of like the freedom.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_03] You know,

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_05] if I had an iPhone, everyone have much bigger, higher expectations of me. I just say, I didn't get it.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_03] I have limited expectations. I just say, I didn't get it. You exceed them every day. It's a freedom.

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_05] It's a, I might go back to a flip phone. Here's a little happy news. If you want to.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_05] Do you love Kentucky fried chicken?

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_03] Sometimes.

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_05] I love it. Okay. And if you love Colonel Sanders, his whole estate is for sale. A collection of personal and professional artifacts, including Sanders home rest and restaurant are up for auction.

[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_03] Wonderful. Uh-huh. Okay.

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_05] I'm going to tell you where. Slash you. Um, uh, KFC is red and white bucket stamp with the face of the chickens. Empire white suited founder are so familiar. It's hard to imagine the back in the 1930s. Harlan Sanders was selling fried poultry out of a gas station. That's where he started.

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_03] Oh,

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_05] yeah. Today, more than 30,000 KFC is located worldwide. Do not eat KFC over overseas.

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_03] No,

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_05] it's not the same. No,

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_03] it's like,

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_05] I was so hungry in London for something like American E. Uh, and I, Oh, not a good idea. No. Um, uh, it's in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_04] Shelby.

[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_05] Mm. They opened a truck. Claudia Sanders dinner house in 1968 in a building adjacent to their home in the historic mansion, Blackwood hall. They operated it until they sold the whole estate to, to their close family friends, the settle family in 1974 that the settle family has preserved the handwritten recipes, kitchen tools, personal effects, letters, business records, and photographs.

[01:20:07] [SPEAKER_06] Cool.

[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_05] Um, but now all of this is headed to auction from memorabilia to the family mansion and the fully operating restaurants. You can go by any of it. You want to just want to buy a little souvenir, go to the auction,

[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_03] do it.

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_05] You don't have to buy the house, just some memorabilia stuff. I don't really care enough, but maybe Kentucky people. That might be something fun. I'd probably be fun. A little auction to go to if you had nothing else going on. Um, uh, this is crazy. This speaking of golf. Okay. This is what I tell. It's usually my guy, dumb ass friends love them, but sometimes they will go hunting for a ball where I know there's a fucking rattlesnake or a cotton mouth or where,

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_05] depending where we are in the United States, something bad.

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_08] Yep. Is there,

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_05] but is there your golf ball at the most is worth $3. That's an expensive golf ball. Mine are probably worth. Hmm. well, a dozen, $2, a dozen is 25 bucks. So every time I see them rooting around, I'm like, is it worth it? Right. So, well, this guy wasn't golfing, but it's the same premise. Um, he, this guy in Idaho, he was bitten by a rattlesnake.

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_05] He needed 54 vials of anti-venom across two hospitals, draining the first hospital's entire supply. And you know what his bill was? $1.3 million. What?

[01:21:31] Yep.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_06] Why?

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_05] So every time I see little Dorf foraging for a ball in the middle of the woods in the summer in Tennessee, where anything could be out there, anything rattlesnakes, anything. I'm like, Dorf, is it worth it? It's $3.

[01:21:44] [SPEAKER_09] Right.

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_05] I will give you the shot. Don't even take a penalty. Just take, take a ball out of the cart. Maddie, you're missing the point. You're missing. No, I'm not.

[01:21:53] [SPEAKER_03] No,

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_05] this happens a lot. I mean, yeah. $1.3 million. That's crazy. This guy went to go check out the water line after a stretch of wet weather. And then he felt something sharp under his foot, looked down to see the snake. It struck twice on his lower leg, once shallowly and once into a vein. That's insane. That's where he got you. Within minutes, his tongue had gone numb, his lip nose had swollen, and he was struggling to breathe.

[01:22:21] [SPEAKER_03] Oh. Yeah. Mm-hmm. No.

[01:22:24] [SPEAKER_05] His wife drove him to the hospital, received the first dose, and then 18 vials went in over the first 24 hours.

[01:22:30] [SPEAKER_08] Mm.

[01:22:30] [SPEAKER_05] Yep. Three days later, his legs swelled and his condition deteriorated, resulting requiring plasma and platelet infusions alongside more antivenom. That's insane. I mean, this is just, be careful, people. It's not worth it. No. Especially golf. It's just a game. Yeah. It's me and you, dwarf. We're not even keeping score. No. So what do you, why are you so hell bent? I find that women, like my mom's golf league and stuff, well, not the golf league. They get a little rulesy weird. Rulesy.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_05] But women are more apt to just go, I don't care. Okay. Guys become determined to the point of stupidity. Yeah. Where they're reaching their hands in desert bushes. I mean, what the fuck are you, what the actual fuck are you thinking? Right. I don't think they are. I think they just become a possessed or obsessed with finding that ball. Yeah.

[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_05] One of the old guys I play with, I don't tell him, but I know what kind of ball he plays and I bought some. And then when he's out looking around for his ball, I go, Hey, I found it over here. And he believes it.

[01:23:30] Yeah.

[01:23:31] [SPEAKER_05] He just takes too long. Let's shorten this up. Let me help you. Yeah.

[01:23:35] Wow.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_05] All right. It's time for, um, we're not staying dumb in this household. No, no, we're not.

[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_03] Not today.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_05] If you're on a date, speaking Spanish.

[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, we're doing our Spanish. Okay.

[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_05] Uh, last week we learned, do you have health insurance? These are the first questions I ask on a date at this age. We're just reminding you what we learned last week. This week, how much money do you make? Because the older you get, you don't bullshit around anymore. Nope. There you go. Some other things we've learned. Does the bar serve food? El bar serve comida? I try to put an accent on it. Do you have alcohol? sounds good. Tienes alcohol? Where is the bar?

[01:24:17] [SPEAKER_05] Donde es la barra? Where is the beach? Donde es la playa? What time does the kitchen close? ¿Qué hora será la kitchen hora? What time is check-in? Hora. ¿Qué hora es el check? Okay. Yeah. So we're learning. You just got to do repetition. I love this hotel. Me encanta este hotel.

[01:24:40] Okay.

[01:24:40] [SPEAKER_05] How far is the airport? A calle distanza.

[01:24:43] No.

[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_03] I didn't say that right.

[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_05] I'm out of my grammar rules. I need some more.

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_03] What did we learn today? What's the story?

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_05] Today we learned how much money do you make. Cuanto dinero ganas.

[01:24:54] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah, but I mean like, it's kind of forward.

[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_05] On a first date. Not when you're old.

[01:25:00] [SPEAKER_03] Okay.

[01:25:00] [SPEAKER_05] You just got to get to the root of it. Thanks. What sign are you? But sign means, that would be confusing. Yeah. Yeah. That would be too hard. I'm out of grammar rules, except this one, and I don't even understand what it means. Oh, well, may versus might. May means possible. Might means less certain. I didn't know that.

[01:25:22] [SPEAKER_03] I never thought about it. I think you just-

[01:25:24] [SPEAKER_05] I may go to the store. To me, that means the same thing as I might go to the store, but it doesn't.

[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_03] You're less certain you're going to the store.

[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_05] If I say might.

[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_03] Yes.

[01:25:33] [SPEAKER_05] I'm more certain.

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_03] Got it.

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_05] We're going to learn- Here's a little something. That's funny. I got some good feel goods, too. It was a happy feel good week for animals. Yeah. This guy, in our Black History Month, since we're taking it out of a lot of schools, we're putting it right back in. Nice. Garrett Morgan, very handsome young man, from Kentucky. He was born in 1877. You can thank him for the traffic signal.

[01:25:59] [SPEAKER_03] Really?

[01:26:00] [SPEAKER_05] Yep. Awesome. Yep.

[01:26:01] [SPEAKER_03] Cool. Thank you.

[01:26:02] [SPEAKER_05] He's an inventor. He invented all kinds of shit, but he's the one that, he designed a manually operated traffic signal with moving arms featuring stop and go signs, which could be placed on a post at traffic intersections. The arms could be raised halfway to indicate caution moving forward. The traffic attention would crank the post to operate the signal, and all lanes could be stopped by showing stop if needed. He patented the traffic signal. He later sold his rights to General Electric for $40,000. Which is probably a lot. Probably a lot back in 18,

[01:26:32] [SPEAKER_05] probably. 12. No, he was born in 1877, so it was probably 1897. Gotcha. 1907. That's cool. Yeah. Yeah. This guy invited Garrett Morgan. His little headshot's very fancy, too. Good for him. Good job, Garrett. Feel good stories.

[01:26:52] Nice. Yeah.

[01:26:54] [SPEAKER_05] Kazakhstan.

[01:26:55] [SPEAKER_03] Kazakhstan.

[01:26:56] [SPEAKER_05] Kazakhstan. Sorry, that's a lot of letters for me to fuck up.

[01:27:01] [SPEAKER_03] Kazakhstan.

[01:27:03] [SPEAKER_05] It releases the first tiger into the wild in more than 70 years.

[01:27:07] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, nice.

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_06] Love it.

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_05] Um, it's a historic milestone in a decade-long effort to restore the predator to its former habitat and revive the wider ecosystem of the southern Lake Balkosh region. Cool. An adult, a female, a mer tiger named Umit, no, Ernit, Umit, Umit, meaning hope, was released in the nature reserve. Cool. Equipped with a satellite tracking collar. That's just so great. That's awesome. Put them back.

[01:27:37] [SPEAKER_05] And if it's in a nature reserve, nobody's going to get, you know, eaten or nothing. Nope. Here's another feel good. Mexico doing double duty. They have released all the dolphins and they freed 350 of them from an amusement park captivity in a historic win for animal protection. Nice. And they don't just set them free in the ocean. They have like a part of the ocean that they've like netted off so they get used to being a dolphin. Right. They've also, Mexico, look at Mexico going this week. They have forced bullfighting to choose between tradition and the bull's life.

[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_05] Lawmakers did not erase the event completely, but they stripped away weapons, banned injuries and death in order and ordered each bull be returned alive. That's awesome. So you can still bullfight, but you can't kill it and shit. Gotcha. It's great. Cool. Yeah. Um, do we need to do that for entertainment? I mean, come on. Right. Um, and Canada,

[01:28:28] [SPEAKER_03] we have AI,

[01:28:29] [SPEAKER_05] uh, approved its first whale sanctuary opening in 2026 across the coastal refuge, a hundred times larger than Marine land. It's designed to let captive whales trade concrete tanks for open ocean space.

[01:28:40] [SPEAKER_03] That's great.

[01:28:41] [SPEAKER_05] Isn't that wonderful? Yeah. It's up by Nova Scotia. Whales sound magical. Just like, yeah, they sound so cool. Scary a little bit.

[01:28:51] Yeah.

[01:28:51] [SPEAKER_05] And now there's those killer whales that are attacking boats on purpose. I've always wondered about that. And there's been a lot of videos.

[01:28:58] [SPEAKER_03] They can get violante.

[01:28:59] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. Very violante. And I always wondered like when you go on those whale watching things and you see one breach, what if it breached and then landed on your boat?

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah.

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_05] You would probably die.

[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_03] Probably.

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. You'd have to. Do I have any thank yous? Oh shit. I didn't. I think I do. Not many though. Just a few, but I lost my paper.

[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_03] That's a lot of paper. We do recycle. People ask about that. Yes. I recycle everything. There's a lot of printing. There is a lot of printing,

[01:29:29] [SPEAKER_05] but look at all the ink people I'm keeping in business. There's a good side of that. Let's have a quote by Prince. Moving on to Prince.

[01:29:38] [SPEAKER_06] Let's see.

[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_05] This is Prince on not singing anything he'll regret later. Okay. Mick Jagger said he hoped he wouldn't be singing satisfaction at age 30. He's still singing it. And it's true. And he's 83. He is. Pete Townsend wrote, I hope I die before I get old. Well, now he's old. And I do hope, I do hope he's happy to be around. I don't want to say anything that could be held against me later.

[01:30:06] [SPEAKER_07] Oh.

[01:30:06] [SPEAKER_05] Smart. Yes. Yes. Don't say those things. David Bowie. He's always weird. He's always good for a weird one. David Bowie. This is on him wearing a suit.

[01:30:18] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, boy.

[01:30:20] [SPEAKER_05] In his time, William S. Burroughs introduced me to the suit. He taught me that your fellow human beings treat you differently if you wear a suit. He who wears a suit comes to sense a different pleasant side of life. I can only recommend it to others. He's fabulous like Amy. Totally fabulous. Totally fabulous. Wear a suit no matter where you go. Let me make sure before I, I'll do the thank yous and then I'll do the same. Amy's outfits are fabulous. Portland.

[01:30:50] [SPEAKER_05] Oh, this is from the Von Trapp Hell's Lager. And those potato sticks are so good. That's from Bethesda, Maryland, Garmite's Beth and Marley again. Nice. UPS, a lot of cool cat toys. The Jaws bath bomb, hilarious. LA termite Kiki. Nashville Hot Cheddar Lane crackers from Fort Lauderdale termite Michael. And the Jackalope conservation pin, very cute. Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia termite Debbie. Cool. All right, here we go. The feast of St. Gall.

[01:31:20] [SPEAKER_05] G A L L. I have never heard of this. There's so many. I don't even know how these got past me.

[01:31:26] [SPEAKER_03] St. Gall.

[01:31:27] [SPEAKER_05] We had to do one every day in Catholic school.

[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_03] Crazy.

[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. This guy, he was a fierce Alpine hermit. Fun. 635. That's the year he was hanging around. He's the patron saint of birds and Switzerland. So random. There are several possible reasons for St. The saints traditional patronage of our feathered friends.

[01:31:54] [SPEAKER_05] Gall once performed an exorcism on a young girl and the dispossessed demon flew out of her mouth in the form of a blackbird. Wow. Gall and St. Columba lived for a while near Lake Zurich on a diet of waterfall. Furthermore, Gallo is Italian for rooster. By destroying their idols and wrecking the vats in which the sacred beer was brewed, this Irish missionary offended the Swiss people and their pagan deities. He did constant battle with the local water sprites.

[01:32:24] [SPEAKER_05] What the fuck's a water sprite? No idea. Called Nixes. Finally, he settled down in an Alpine cave, which he shared with a bear.

[01:32:38] [SPEAKER_04] What's a water sprite? Google, what's a water sprite? The end. The end.

[01:32:45] [SPEAKER_05] Go to your night-night.

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_03] What do you mean, what's a water sprite?

[01:32:49] [SPEAKER_05] Well, what is it? These things he was fighting with. What's he fighting with?

[01:32:52] [SPEAKER_03] Oh, it's just like a spirit that.

[01:32:56] [SPEAKER_05] You're making this up. Will you please Google it? You're just making shit up now.

[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_03] Like a spirit that is in charge of water. A bad one?

[01:33:03] [SPEAKER_05] Well,

[01:33:03] [SPEAKER_03] why was he doing constant battle with local water sprites? That is right. A water sprite, also called a water fairy, is a general term for an elemental spirit associated with water, according to the alchemist Paracelsus. Water sprites are said to be either able to breathe water or air and sometimes can fly. They sound fabulous. Well,

[01:33:26] [SPEAKER_05] he was battling them every day. It was a tough road to go.

[01:33:29] [SPEAKER_03] What does one look like? Oh my God, there's hundreds.

[01:33:31] [SPEAKER_05] What do they look like? Oh,

[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_03] these are cool. We're going to put it in the schnouts. Oh, and it's also now the name of a fern. An Indian fern is a water sprite. Huh. Yeah, we'll get into this. All right. Yeah. All right,

[01:33:47] [SPEAKER_05] termites. I'll see you guys on the road.

[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_03] What are you doing this weekend? Not this weekend. You're off, which is tomorrow.

[01:33:53] [SPEAKER_05] My cousin and his wife are coming.

[01:33:55] Oh, fine.

[01:33:56] [SPEAKER_05] We'll probably go day drinking because it's just too hot. It's too hot to golf. It's crazy. I'll take the boat out for a while, but a hundred is a little over my.

[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_03] It's significantly.

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_05] We're getting in the pool, but the pool's hot.

[01:34:12] [SPEAKER_03] It was supposed to be like cooler in August than July.

[01:34:17] [SPEAKER_05] Last August was cooler than July. And now it's backwards again. Traditionally, when I was a kid though, in the Midwest, August was always hotter than July.

[01:34:26] [SPEAKER_06] Really?

[01:34:26] [SPEAKER_05] Yeah. But then it kind of flipped,

[01:34:29] [SPEAKER_03] but now it's flipping back. Well, where I'm from in Canada, at the end of August, you could always see snow.

[01:34:36] Oh my God.

[01:34:37] [SPEAKER_03] Yeah. Get your, get your, get your fun in now. Boom.

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_05] Get your fun in.

[01:34:42] [SPEAKER_03] Get your fun in.

[01:34:42] [SPEAKER_05] Cause the depression's going to set in real quickly. Yeah. It'll be bleak in an hour. What? Okay. Termites. I will see you next in Atlantic city, the 21st and 22nd. I love that gig. It's so much fun. All right. See ya. Night night. Termites.

[01:34:57] Bye. Bye. Bye.
