[00:00:02] What you want, when you want it, where you want it. This is The MESH.

[00:00:09] Hey, I'm Amy Chang. I'm a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach and this is Healthy AF.

[00:00:16] In this podcast, I'll be bringing you all things health, from the newest health strategies to how to tackle those personal roadblocks that just will not let you move forward.

[00:00:26] So buckle in. We're going to be inspired and instructed and dadgum we're going to have a little fun on Healthy AF.

[00:00:36] Hey everybody and welcome to another episode of Healthy AF. I'm super excited because this is part three and definitely three.

[00:00:43] I didn't know if it was going to be three whole episodes, but I just feel like I really want to do three.

[00:00:47] So we're bringing it on home. Part one, we talked about the state that we can really live in, where we're not fulfilled, we're really busy,

[00:01:00] we're sort of like going on and on and on and on, on the hamster wheel, the wash, rinse, repeat cycle, the hot mess express.

[00:01:08] I hear it described so many different ways for my clients when they first come in or we first have that consult.

[00:01:14] And it's just that go, go, go head down, keep going. You know, you don't really feel great, but you're not bleeding out.

[00:01:20] So may as well continue on into becoming aware through either a forced stop moment, like big traumatic moment in your life or a lovely spiritual moment.

[00:01:34] You know, where you have that conversation with a friend, your mind gets blown or you go to that continuing education thing and think, oh gosh, wow, I should have been doing this.

[00:01:44] Or you get that right cue from the right person at the right time and then all of a sudden things click, right?

[00:01:49] So you go from being unaware to having this awareness moment.

[00:01:54] And then you start moving into like really investigating all the concreteness that lives in your head and all the limiting beliefs and all the things you've been telling yourself for sometimes many decades.

[00:02:07] That is simply not true.

[00:02:10] And actually, now that we've gotten here, we can start creating a life that we're choosing and that we love.

[00:02:19] Yay!

[00:02:22] And that's where part three comes in.

[00:02:24] So I'm so glad to have you here.

[00:02:26] This is where things get good and they don't always feel good, but they get good.

[00:02:32] I promise you.

[00:02:34] So part three is living a life well lived.

[00:02:39] What does that look and feel like?

[00:02:42] You know, it's hard when we are in the midst of either not being aware of our work, not being aware of that life is living us.

[00:02:53] Or we're in the arena, really looking honestly at ourselves and how we have mucked up some stuff and want to make some real changes.

[00:03:09] That's a lot of work and a lot of energy.

[00:03:12] It's hard when we're in that to be committed to that work without knowing that there is something on the other side.

[00:03:23] And I'm here to tell you, it's over there and it's waiting for you.

[00:03:29] Again, you're not going to maybe get this big flash, brilliant life of life transformation.

[00:03:37] You might.

[00:03:39] But you are going to get it coming in like seasons.

[00:03:43] Spring, spring, warm days when it's been winter.

[00:03:48] I never forget in growing up in North Carolina.

[00:03:53] In February, we'd start having sunny 50 degree days.

[00:03:58] and at 13, I'd get on my little red bikini

[00:04:01] and I'd go out and lay on the front porch

[00:04:03] freezing my Lulu off,

[00:04:07] but sunbathing.

[00:04:08] And yes, I was lathered in baby oil.

[00:04:10] Yes, I am that old.

[00:04:13] I still wait for those warm, sunny days

[00:04:19] of late January and February

[00:04:22] that tell me a new season is coming.

[00:04:26] And that's what a life well lived is like.

[00:04:29] That's how it enters in.

[00:04:32] It's moments of peace.

[00:04:35] Your daily schedule might look exactly the same

[00:04:38] as it looked when you were on wash, rinse, repeat,

[00:04:41] but you're going to be there for it.

[00:04:45] You're going to have a new sense of peace

[00:04:48] and serenity and purpose.

[00:04:53] You know, there were so many times I picked up my kids

[00:04:56] just like, I don't know, so automatic,

[00:05:02] like the phone rings, you pick it up.

[00:05:07] And then there were times that I picked up my kids

[00:05:10] and I was so focused on the joy.

[00:05:13] I got to be there to pick them up

[00:05:17] and to see their faces.

[00:05:19] Their faces said more how their day went

[00:05:24] and what they were feeling and learning

[00:05:26] than any of the words in the minivan going home did.

[00:05:31] Sometimes I could be in presence of that.

[00:05:33] A life well lives feels like being in your life,

[00:05:38] not in your list.

[00:05:40] A life well lives feels like choice

[00:05:43] and it feels like power

[00:05:47] and it feels like the paradox

[00:05:50] of being in control of your life

[00:05:53] and also not having to be in control of your life.

[00:05:58] Doesn't always feel good.

[00:06:00] Tragedies still happen.

[00:06:02] But in the midst of tragedy,

[00:06:04] when you're living a life well lived,

[00:06:08] you can be grounded enough

[00:06:11] to know that you're going to be okay

[00:06:13] and to remember who you are.

[00:06:16] You can be well acquainted enough with yourself

[00:06:22] to not be blown off course

[00:06:26] by an election season,

[00:06:29] a hurricane,

[00:06:32] a really joyful moment.

[00:06:35] Right?

[00:06:37] Because we do some,

[00:06:38] we can make some pretty poor decisions

[00:06:40] in joyful moments too.

[00:06:42] Sometimes they're not always authentic.

[00:06:46] Living right sounds like

[00:06:49] I get to go get my kids.

[00:06:52] No more I have to's.

[00:06:53] No more I can't.

[00:06:56] Having that well lived life

[00:06:58] feels like mountains of possibility.

[00:07:02] I don't know what my exercise is going to look like,

[00:07:04] but I know I'm going to do some.

[00:07:06] Okay.

[00:07:07] Now we're talking.

[00:07:09] It looks like when you tear your Achilles,

[00:07:13] but figure out how to come on the deck

[00:07:16] and do 20 minutes of abs and push up work.

[00:07:20] That's what it looks like.

[00:07:23] There is a way

[00:07:26] to move through

[00:07:29] obstacles

[00:07:31] without becoming a victim to them,

[00:07:34] without losing your spirit,

[00:07:37] your passion,

[00:07:40] without being a robot.

[00:07:42] You can feel your feelings.

[00:07:45] You can have some,

[00:07:46] wow, I don't like this.

[00:07:47] I don't like having a torn Achilles

[00:07:49] and not being able to run or bike.

[00:07:51] I don't like that at all.

[00:07:53] I think I'll go out on the porch

[00:07:54] and do some one-legged push-ups.

[00:07:58] You see that?

[00:07:59] That flow,

[00:08:01] that power.

[00:08:03] And what it feels like in your body

[00:08:06] is full breathing.

[00:08:09] None of the shallow breathing.

[00:08:12] None of the,

[00:08:13] for me,

[00:08:13] it's tight traps.

[00:08:14] None of the tight traps.

[00:08:17] It's loose.

[00:08:19] It's loving yourself.

[00:08:22] It's loving other people.

[00:08:26] It's a feeling of

[00:08:31] knowing that you can do

[00:08:34] what you think

[00:08:36] you might want to do.

[00:08:37] And if you end up

[00:08:38] not doing it,

[00:08:40] you're still okay.

[00:08:42] It's having the ability to fail

[00:08:45] and having the courage to try.

[00:08:50] And that's

[00:08:50] where

[00:08:51] I see people

[00:08:53] who are in the midst

[00:08:55] of transforming

[00:08:56] their lives

[00:08:58] or transforming

[00:08:59] an area of their life.

[00:09:01] That's what I see them doing.

[00:09:05] and how I see them living.

[00:09:07] And that's what's waiting

[00:09:09] for all of us

[00:09:10] on the other side

[00:09:15] of

[00:09:16] saying like,

[00:09:17] hey,

[00:09:17] I'd like to check in

[00:09:18] and be aware of what I'm doing.

[00:09:20] Seeing what you need to see.

[00:09:23] Choosing to do the work

[00:09:25] with whatever you need to do

[00:09:27] that's concrete in your head.

[00:09:29] And then really

[00:09:32] being fearless.

[00:09:33] I'm not,

[00:09:34] no,

[00:09:34] strike that.

[00:09:35] Being courageous.

[00:09:37] As you try

[00:09:38] creating

[00:09:39] a life

[00:09:40] that you're choosing.

[00:09:43] I know I'm pretty stoked

[00:09:44] about that.

[00:09:45] I think I'm just going to

[00:09:46] leave it right there.

[00:09:48] You know,

[00:09:51] I have

[00:09:52] a lot

[00:09:53] of meditations

[00:09:54] that I listen to

[00:09:56] when I

[00:09:56] go to sleep

[00:09:57] and wake up

[00:09:58] and I love my

[00:09:59] Insight Timer.

[00:09:59] Y'all know I love

[00:10:00] my Insight Timer.

[00:10:01] And there's this

[00:10:02] one dude

[00:10:03] on there

[00:10:03] and the first time

[00:10:05] I ever heard him say this

[00:10:06] I was like,

[00:10:06] that's weird.

[00:10:07] I don't know if I like it.

[00:10:08] And now I love it.

[00:10:11] And this is what he says.

[00:10:13] He says,

[00:10:16] I know that you don't know me

[00:10:18] and I don't know you,

[00:10:19] but I just want to tell you

[00:10:21] that I love you.

[00:10:23] And I just want to tell all of you

[00:10:25] that I love you.

[00:10:26] I hope you're creating

[00:10:27] a life

[00:10:28] that you

[00:10:29] absolutely

[00:10:30] love.

[00:10:32] And if you're not,

[00:10:33] that's okay too.

[00:10:35] Give yourself grace.

[00:10:36] Give everybody else

[00:10:37] some grace.

[00:10:38] Put some love

[00:10:39] on yourself.

[00:10:40] Put some love

[00:10:40] on everybody else.

[00:10:42] And like,

[00:10:43] share,

[00:10:44] and subscribe.

[00:10:44] And if you ever,

[00:10:45] you know,

[00:10:46] want to

[00:10:47] chitter chatter

[00:10:48] with me

[00:10:49] about really transforming

[00:10:51] your mindset,

[00:10:52] your habits,

[00:10:53] your behaviors,

[00:10:53] your actions,

[00:10:55] and living a life

[00:10:57] that you get to create

[00:10:58] that you really do love,

[00:11:01] just hit a consult.
