[00:00:27] So buckle in. We're gonna be inspired and instructed and dad gum, we're gonna have a little fun on Healthy AF.

[00:00:37] Hey everybody and welcome to Healthy AF. This month of June we're gonna spend the entire month talking about that body mind connection.

[00:00:47] It's so important to have our little brains talking to our bodies and tapping in to all the resources and all the communication that is happening

[00:01:00] from our bodies to our brains and from our brains to our bodies.

[00:01:04] I find that most of us don't take the time to really tap in to what's going on and then we miss stuff.

[00:01:14] We miss being grateful for our bodies.

[00:01:17] We miss the true capacity that our bodies have and we also miss some of the like stuck energy aches and pains that then we just

[00:01:30] poo poo until they are injuries that take us down to our knees.

[00:01:33] So I wanted to spend some time this entire month talking about that body mind connection.

[00:01:42] So I'm gonna use my radio voice when I first started podcasting.

[00:01:50] My oldest daughter she heard the first one she's like oh my god mommy you got a radio voice.

[00:01:55] So I'm gonna use my radio voice and this podcast is just gonna be a quick five or six minute body scan.

[00:02:04] If you've ever done a body scan before you'll know that it's a great way to take each body part moment by moment and just check in with that body part.

[00:02:19] So what are you checking in for?

[00:02:21] What we're gonna do is we're gonna start with a couple of deep centering breaths and I'm gonna cue you on that breathing and settle in to sort of your body.

[00:02:34] And then we're going to start with the top of your head and we're gonna move all the way down to the tips of your toes.

[00:02:42] So you're gonna want to just notice anything that you feel.

[00:02:48] Sometimes people feel a heaviness or just awareness of that body part.

[00:02:55] They may feel tingling or a heat or a cool.

[00:03:01] So your one job, you got one job when I use my radio voice, your one job is to settle in and just completely notice anything going on in your body.

[00:03:20] You are not aiming to judge it. You are not aiming to figure it out.

[00:03:26] You are not aiming to connect it to that time when you slid on the sled into the tree with your butt bone.

[00:03:35] You're not doing any of that. You're just simply noticing each part of your body.

[00:03:43] So I'm going to presence my own inner channel, get my radio voice on, get yourself in a comfortable position.

[00:03:54] It can be laying down, it can be sitting up, however you feel comfortable.

[00:04:00] I'm going to close my eyes, you can close yours too.

[00:04:04] And we're going to start with a nice deep breath and we're going to go in and out and in and out.

[00:04:30] And one more time in. Big deep breath into your lungs and your belly and let that go.

[00:04:45] Let your breathing settle and say hello to your body. Whatever way it is, just being here with your body.

[00:05:06] And now become aware of the very top of your head. Just feeling the very top of your head,

[00:05:21] allowing it to be any way it is. And now moving that awareness down over your forehead

[00:05:35] into your little eyeballs and the eyeball sockets in your brow. And moving on down

[00:05:48] to your cheekbones and your ears, past your nose, floating down over your jaw

[00:06:04] to your neck. Feeling that neck and those big traps. Feeling is there any tension there

[00:06:22] on your shoulders. Heading down in the front of your chest and on that upper back.

[00:06:39] Just noticing any way you feel. You may feel tightness, you might feel the air of the room

[00:06:51] or the brush of your clothing. Continuing down through the rib cage

[00:07:01] in the middle of the back, onto your tummy, down to your hip bones. And now down both arms

[00:07:18] from the shoulder to the elbow. Just checking in, allowing whatever sensations are there.

[00:07:27] From your elbows to your wrists. Just take a moment to listen.

[00:07:36] From your wrists to your hands. Down through your fingertips. Feeling the tips of your fingers.

[00:07:46] Sensing whatever they're touching. Are they sweaty? Are they dry or clammy?

[00:07:58] Are they relaxed? And coming back over to your pelvis.

[00:08:07] And coming back over to your pelvis. Feeling that pelvic bowl and up to the top of your thighs.

[00:08:19] Feeling any sensation there. From your thighs to your hip bones to your knees.

[00:08:30] From your knees down through your calves and your shins to your ankles.

[00:08:36] Just checking in. And down from your ankles through the arches

[00:08:43] to the balls of your feet and the very tips of your toes.

[00:08:55] Now taking just a moment to sense the entire body and listen for any whispers,

[00:09:07] any sensations, temperature fluctuations,

[00:09:12] sensations, muscle sensations, awarenesses. Just being with your body.

[00:09:32] We'll take three deep breaths here. Inhaling and let that go. And another deep breath in.

[00:09:51] Filling up that belly and those lungs and letting that go. And one last deep breath in.

[00:10:04] And then really opening up the lungs and letting that go. And presencing gratitude

[00:10:20] for anything that your body has shared with you. Or being able to be with your body.

[00:10:28] Being so grateful for everything it does for you. And lastly allowing it to be any way that

[00:10:37] it is right now. Now you can just take a moment to start to shift around a little bit. Get some

[00:10:47] movement back in that body. Maybe wiggle your fingers or your toes and whenever you're ready

[00:10:55] flutter those eyes open and come on back. I don't know about you but I feel like I could

[00:11:04] use my radio voice all day now. I'm so grateful for my body. I'm grateful you took

[00:11:12] the time to be with your body. And I hope you loved this episode of Healthy AF.
