[00:00:37] American Samoa Guam US Virgin Islands Micronesia and the Marshall Islands

[00:00:42] Whose listening habits data did not make it back to us Hank in time for your listening pleasure today

[00:00:48] However, welcome to Big Fan. Wow

[00:00:54] Somebody something sure who's keeping up with the volume number and the episode I feel like we jump around quite a bit

[00:01:02] this is a

[00:01:04] Riddle that created over the last three years waiting for a listener to figure it out

[00:01:10] Obviously you have not figured it out. It's like a beautiful mind thing. Yes, exactly

[00:01:18] Numbers everywhere pulling lines and everything else

[00:01:21] So if anybody I'm glad you brought it up because I was waiting for somebody to say how do you determine the volume?

[00:01:25] And when does the episode 4 in and 5 start, you know that kind of thing?

[00:01:30] It's all a riddle Hank just like the riddle of the Sphinx that I went over with you a couple weeks ago

[00:01:35] Watch my finger go around

[00:01:37] Okay, okay

[00:01:38] I feel like there's not gonna be anybody on this planet that cares about your riddle

[00:01:43] And so that is the last time we'll hear about it, but I'm looking forward to see how it works out

[00:01:46] Fair enough. Yes. My name is Chad Eason. I'm a big fan of parties that leads you. I'm sorry

[00:01:52] Let's start that again

[00:01:52] I'm a big fan of

[00:01:54] Thursday night parties that leads you to the weekend party that starts Friday

[00:01:58] AM that runs you through a holiday weekend and ends around Monday about 4 in the afternoon Wow

[00:02:04] That was the Memorial Day

[00:02:07] Weekend holiday party that I just went through a couple weeks ago. We'll talk about your beach

[00:02:12] Yes, that started that Thursday night

[00:02:14] We were just talking to our producer moose who enjoyed his weekend that weekend as well

[00:02:17] Yes, we'll talk about that also having your daughter back from college for the summer

[00:02:21] Which makes the entire household feel back to normal which it has done for sure and then eating lunch at your

[00:02:28] Favorite sushi spot which I did today and they make the wrong sushi for another customer

[00:02:33] But ask me if I wanted it before discarding it we call it double sushi days double sushi days

[00:02:40] You know the funny thing about a double sushi day. Yes, is you probably took some home with you

[00:02:43] The duck this the free one went into the go box and I brought it home and put in the refrigerator after lunch

[00:02:49] He looked at me because it was still sitting there said would and he's a buddy

[00:02:53] We do the printing for him

[00:02:54] But the server doesn't know me and I was like what you about putting them to box for me and he looked at me

[00:02:58] He's like sushi in a box and I say a doggie bag, please

[00:03:05] Like this dude is strange

[00:03:07] But anyway, he packed packaged it up brought it to the house be a good midnight snack tonight

[00:03:11] After the $500 for Jennifer's birthday dinner tonight. I can't wait to discuss that first of all birthday dinner for Jennifer

[00:03:19] Happy birthday. When's her birthday birthday Friday birthday dinner tonight Wednesday. We're coming to you live June 5th

[00:03:24] North Carolina, so hers is June 7th. Yes. Happy birthday Jennifer. I think I'm looking forward to hearing about the dinner

[00:03:31] So let's just discuss the dinner festivities

[00:03:35] She one of the people that likes to have her birthday all week like it's not all women want their birthday all week

[00:03:41] It's mostly two weeks

[00:03:42] I bet it was to start this Monday and then go the week or will it be like hey it starts really tonight

[00:03:47] Starts tonight. Okay, so which she deserves it sure take the whole month if you want to

[00:03:53] Wednesday dinner tonight tomorrow, I think they might have a tennis match but Friday wine shop dinner Friday night Saturday

[00:04:01] Think there's another dinner move into next week

[00:04:05] Possibly a get-together, you know, happy birthday get together sure maybe twice

[00:04:12] Next week next week. We're talking about six full day and then the kicker. This is great

[00:04:18] She's going to Lake Lour with some college friends for the weekend

[00:04:21] And then following that in August there's a big party with everybody who turned 50 at the

[00:04:28] someplace a

[00:04:29] Dance-a-thon, you know, we're talking so actually it runs through August. We're running through August for this birthday stuff

[00:04:35] But the August one is celebrating you too. So I don't hear it

[00:04:38] Well, I didn't I didn't set it up the girl the other wives set it up. So it will be spectacular

[00:04:44] I'm looking forward to it. Oh, but I'm just saying

[00:04:47] Birthday seemed to go a long way. Yeah, so it's the 50th. It's a happy birthday Jennifer

[00:04:52] You just you deserve this week this month. Don't let Chad take it away from you

[00:04:56] He's already complaining about certain aspects of it and I don't like it not at all

[00:05:00] Not at all like it sticking on that subject. Do you want to talk about the dinner?

[00:05:04] Do you want to talk about birthday celebrations that lead to another celebration that led to a weekend of pleasure?

[00:05:10] It sounds like you have your own agenda here. Let's go ahead and talk. Let's do it

[00:05:14] So two Thursdays ago Hank

[00:05:16] Yours truly the leader of Big Fan

[00:05:20] Chatties I was the leader of a caddy's had a kind of impromptu not surprised party

[00:05:26] But I didn't know the scale of it and it was at this wonderful brew that we've attended there before that's outside

[00:05:32] Inside really cool, but a deluge of a storm popped up remember right when you immediately so it starts at 630

[00:05:39] You got there right at 630 bingo you were prompt first one there and as soon as y'all

[00:05:45] Pulling to the parking lot that just started pouring right dumping dumping rain

[00:05:49] And so I was like, oh my gosh because we were gonna kind of try to set some of it up outside

[00:05:53] Now we're forced to be inside which actually turned out great cuz everybody was together

[00:05:58] It continued to rain for a good solid 45 minutes. I would say I mean it was just dumping

[00:06:03] And then a big surprise to me a performer a fantastic artist brought his talents to the place we're at

[00:06:10] He is he loves Prince can play the keyboards and the guitar simultaneously and sing

[00:06:15] Did you get to hear him? This guy wasn't there like Jennifer didn't pay for him to be there a

[00:06:20] Couple of my friends. Okay, they booked him. So he was there for you. Yes. Okay. I thought you meant he just happened to know

[00:06:27] No, no, they booked him and I didn't know that they were doing that. I did see a little bit of him

[00:06:31] I saw some video it wasn't it wasn't flattering of

[00:06:37] Me grabbing the mic and a microphone fiending and paid in full in I saw it and

[00:06:43] Solomon Birkin, I don't know if I saw that one. That was the last one

[00:06:48] Deleting that a lot of words were coming together a lot of slurred words and we deleted that video

[00:06:54] But anyway, it was just a fabulous night. And so, you know, you stayed for a little bit

[00:06:58] We ended up going out to dinner and yeah, yeah, but it was great to see you great to see our friends

[00:07:02] It was awesome get together. So we kind of keep that party rocking Prince the real prince

[00:07:07] But made an appearance which was so awesome grave

[00:07:11] Yes

[00:07:11] my neighbor dressed up as the symbol Prince and

[00:07:15] Full purple outfit brought the guitar everything just put on a show goatee goatee and everything spectacular

[00:07:23] And so that was a wonderful time

[00:07:25] Good food good drink

[00:07:27] So that kind of kept rocking to about 11 and then my daughter showed up after her work at the ice cream shop

[00:07:32] So she got to partake in everything and have a big time and we packed the car up. We got home

[00:07:36] I'd say it was about 11 11 15 ain't

[00:07:39] And you know, we're leaving for the beach tomorrow morning first thing and so I was like, you know what?

[00:07:44] I think I'm gonna go on getting the bed. Let's get a good night rest Wow

[00:07:47] and then I hear hang a horn in the driveway and

[00:07:52] Got a text. What do you think you're doing? It's your birthday get out here. The night is not done

[00:07:58] So I said Jen Olivia Lucy Rose was already in the bed. I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to go see what these guys want

[00:08:05] I'm sorry. I'm gonna have to see what I would have to see what they want. There's somebody in our yard

[00:08:09] Let me investigate this. Let's make sure there's no trouble

[00:08:14] Pop out exactly

[00:08:16] Screech out of the driveway hit the crescent moon

[00:08:19] Mm-hmm, and there's a whole crew of the people that had been at the party. They were already up there

[00:08:24] Just hanging out having a big time

[00:08:26] It's a spend a little time up there and then we came back and Andy was like, you know

[00:08:30] My neighbor talented Andy Roney said there's a song I want to look won't you to listen to it?

[00:08:35] I was like man literally I will listen to it one time and I got to get in the bed

[00:08:38] You know that never happens 75 times later a couple of edits go at it's here

[00:08:44] Yes, and then I said let me add something to that part there Andy

[00:08:47] Anyway, next thing I know it's 8 o'clock in the morning

[00:08:50] Jay barefoot is coming to pick me up at 830 for us to roll out to the beach. Oh my gosh

[00:08:55] I didn't stay up to a I'm just saying I went to sleep but the alarm goes off at 8 like

[00:09:00] I thought you were saying you no, no, no, no, come on

[00:09:03] Not even me don't look in my eyes and say that this is not capable

[00:09:08] Don't look me in my eyes because we all know even even the listeners know

[00:09:12] They all thought it because it's capable it's it's been done but not this time. I'm 50 years old

[00:09:18] I know you look at goodness sake

[00:09:21] Before you went over and I was smart. I was wise everything is great. Chad grab the Chad bag

[00:09:26] Brush the teeth jump the shower rinse off pop in the car get a little cup of coffee

[00:09:31] And we're off 830 where all of you in one car just Jay and I Jennifer and Holly came down several hours later

[00:09:38] Like they didn't probably get there to about six

[00:09:41] Jay and I get there to make a tee time at two

[00:09:45] So we go straight from there hit the golf course in Oak Island play with these guys. This is pretty funny

[00:09:51] We were coming in running where we don't want to miss the tee time and we're supposed to be it there

[00:09:55] You know the tee times at 235. Let's say where it's 232

[00:09:58] we're pulling up run to the the

[00:10:00] Check-in place and they were like we're gonna stick you with a couple guys and I was like no problem

[00:10:05] Just thanks for getting us in because the last tee time is at 3 if you don't make it before 3

[00:10:08] You can't play is this just over the bridge on the left just over the bridge on the left

[00:10:11] So we're running we get in the car. We run up to the tee box and there's these two

[00:10:16] Fine looking older gentlemen probably in their 60s dressed to the nines all brand new gear

[00:10:21] You know I'm saying you can see it brand new gear dripping in it golf bag

[00:10:27] Immaculate brand new clubs all the new technology. They got it all right

[00:10:31] And they look at us riff-raff running down there sweat pouring us

[00:10:35] We're hungover as can be and Jay was like guys. Sorry, we're gonna try we won't slow you up

[00:10:40] We're not very good. So we'll kind of try to stay out of your way and the guy was like

[00:10:44] Don't worry about it son. It's gonna be fine. You know, yeah come off the tee

[00:10:49] They put it down the fairway why lace one down the fairway Jay hits one down the fairway

[00:10:54] They thought that actually they were going to whoop us

[00:10:57] You know what I'm saying? Yeah, we managed to beat them on every hole except one

[00:11:02] So by whole sit and here's a gamble with these men

[00:11:04] We were kind of just running our mouth a little bit, okay

[00:11:07] But they just acted like they were gonna be so much better

[00:11:09] So we birdie the first hole then par you know, we're playing very well and

[00:11:14] Hole one because you know, I got to have music so I asked the gentleman was like, I'm sorry sir

[00:11:19] But what we typically do we put the music on kind of low. Is that all right?

[00:11:23] Crickets not one word. They didn't acknowledge anything else like really low. I keep the music on and they were like I guess

[00:11:30] They did not they said I guess they did not

[00:11:34] Very low did not did not want to bother them because we're just on

[00:11:37] Anyway, so we get through hole six about hole six

[00:11:40] They realized that we can play and they're not better than us in any way

[00:11:43] Even then their gear is much better and their shirt is very nice and Jay barefoot has a pair of foot joy shoes from

[00:11:50] 1987 they don't care anymore

[00:11:53] Now they're being friendly now. They want to maybe buy us a drink at the turn

[00:11:57] Okay, you know maybe want to make a dinner reservation after the thing, you know with us

[00:12:01] Yeah, anyway, we turn them through kindness Hank. We turn them through kindness and good golf play. Okay, that's how we turned them

[00:12:09] So anyway, we spend the rest of the weekend at the beach

[00:12:11] Jennifer and Holly came down just had a fabulous time get back Monday at 4 p.m. On Memorial Day

[00:12:18] Pull the plug. That's it. Let's get in the bed

[00:12:20] Let's get some rest 4 o'clock p.m. In the afternoon on Monday because we've been down there, you know

[00:12:25] In bed from four

[00:12:27] Yeah, we picked I picked up Koa from the kennel. Uh-huh got home about 430

[00:12:34] Showered for the jammies on let's go again the bed. The girls weren't hungry

[00:12:39] Let's rest we got to work the next day. So you slept from 430 on and off until 7 a.m

[00:12:45] Yes, the sleep wasn't very consistent nor good little bit of sweaty

[00:12:50] But had the scaries. Yeah a little bit of the scaries but drank lots of Gatorade lots of water hydrated

[00:12:55] And then we're ready to go on Tuesday. Okay solid weekend solid Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

[00:13:01] That's let's do it. That's a turn for the worst as far as your body is concerned wasn't good that next week

[00:13:07] I'm still paying for it a little bit stomach. I just got like this stomach. It's always hurting

[00:13:15] So anyway, well how you been buddy, I can't top that

[00:13:19] You've got you got birthday stories. So

[00:13:22] Speaking of your birthday story

[00:13:23] It's so funny to me to watch the crowd come in like into a birthday not just your birthday

[00:13:28] It just any version. Yes, because you've got a number of different people

[00:13:32] You've got the people that are like hey got to get there early cuz I got stuff done

[00:13:36] I was part of that crowd. Yes, right. Yes, then you have the hey and again not your crowd

[00:13:42] I'm just saying birthdays in general. Hey

[00:13:46] We got to go to this birthday

[00:13:49] Stay long I understand making a pair

[00:13:53] When we get there, let's see them first that way we can duck out

[00:13:57] Yes, right then there's the person that comes in that you know is ready to get lit

[00:14:04] Ready to have a time. Let's spark, you know, let's hit the fuse and let's watch it go

[00:14:09] Right, and then you have maybe the the couple that's a little confused on what the other spouse wants to do

[00:14:17] Right you seem like you're really nestling in here

[00:14:21] Well, I thought we were going to go home early and you see the eye daggers and the other things that are going on

[00:14:28] So I like to go to these things and kind of people watch sir

[00:14:32] Because you definitely are like this guy's digging a hole and he doesn't even know it because you'll see him at the bar

[00:14:38] And he's buying a drink. He's buying his buddy a drink

[00:14:40] You look over his wife and it is just hate being looked at on him

[00:14:44] You know I'm saying of course I do what about the person let me add to the list the person they they go

[00:14:50] They're like kind of middle-of-the-road don't really know where it's gonna take them, but they're hungry. So they make the first

[00:14:58] They get there they go straight to the food right? Yeah, but the food with their wife talk talk talk

[00:15:03] Maybe a couple people come up

[00:15:06] Then they make their decision so, you know kind of indecisive, but they hit the food first

[00:15:11] Let's feel it out a little bit and normally that's not my MO, you know, I'm normally like hitting the food first

[00:15:18] The other side the other group goes to hit the bar first. Sure

[00:15:21] Those are the people that want to get it rolling. Let's spark it up. It's like the fuse

[00:15:25] So let's like the dynamite. Yeah, and let's go usually those people end up having the worst evening

[00:15:32] Because at 11 they've got a couple buttons on their shirt undone sure right maybe the back of their shirts untucked

[00:15:38] Absolutely, they may be missing a sock and they're like

[00:15:42] What happened and somebody's like you didn't eat anything? That's what happened

[00:15:48] You've got 60 gallons of fluid on your stomach. There's nothing to hold on to right? You have to create a base

[00:15:54] That's what we call it the base. Yeah, so at again, we're just talking about parties in general

[00:15:59] But at my party who did you see the most of was at the a?

[00:16:03] Come and leave early. Was it the B?

[00:16:06] Not quite sure was it the C we're ready to rock and roll

[00:16:09] But what did you see people came in ready to fistfight?

[00:16:14] You know, they were ready to come in and get into some stuff sure right

[00:16:18] Yes

[00:16:18] So, you know when you got in there and you see everybody meandering around it's sizing each other up a little bit

[00:16:24] You know like what's this guy kind?

[00:16:27] I heard somebody at your party say that they hope you brought your passport because they were going to Mexico that night

[00:16:35] That same story chatter you packed up we might end up in Mexico tomorrow. So anyway hilarious

[00:16:40] We didn't end up in Mexico, but close enough, you know

[00:16:42] Yeah, so I you know, I think all of it birthdays especially like, you know 50 is a big birthday

[00:16:48] So it's like, you know, that's it. But like do you have that same celebration at 47?

[00:16:53] No, you don't well now maybe maybe me you do I do but the typical human does not

[00:16:59] But I look forward to your 50 your 50 coming up in what four years I'm 47 years

[00:17:06] Should be a good one. I'll be a good I look forward to that. So getting back to tonight's dinner for Jennifer

[00:17:11] Yeah, so, you know, it's her birthday now. Yeah, my birthday is over. It's done past not about you

[00:17:17] It's not about me. It's not about you. I can see it in your face. You wanted to be about you

[00:17:22] Do not about I do not want about you Jen

[00:17:24] I'm glad the birthday is over no more even though I did get a present yesterday, which was kind

[00:17:29] You know somebody couldn't make it to the parties who dropped a little present off for me and guess what they had in the bag

[00:17:33] Besides those yes, but other things

[00:17:36] Just for men great

[00:17:39] Coloring which I think it's appropriate. Don't you I'm looking at you right now

[00:17:42] I know I have a lot of gray, but it make it it makes me wiser more sagacious more sophisticated

[00:17:48] So I will never use this product. I'll pass it to you. I would know you're ready to use

[00:17:53] I don't have great. You don't even have any ready now

[00:17:56] We've got a very small spot right there on the side. Yeah in three years. It'll be all over

[00:18:03] Who gets gifts at 50?

[00:18:07] It was very kind. I don't know. I got it

[00:18:09] I got a lot of gifts and most of them bottle form bottle form, but there were other some funny things

[00:18:14] You know besides that just for men that I got a microphone a wireless mic

[00:18:18] Oh Wow from Rick Setzer. How kind is that?

[00:18:20] Yeah, I mean, you know flipping through the bottle of Buffalo Trace and Tito's and all of a sudden

[00:18:24] There's a wireless microphone in the bag. I'm cool. Yeah cool

[00:18:27] I think I think at this point if you're giving gifts, they've got to be from Spencer's

[00:18:33] Art spray or edible underwear, you know those things I might want to get you like a Wu Tang poster

[00:18:40] Next birthday absolutely

[00:18:43] So I get back to the dinner tonight

[00:18:45] So again we were talking about before the podcast, you know, you and I we don't care about birthday dinners

[00:18:51] It's great to get the family together, but you don't have to go to the finest dining establishment

[00:18:55] You know give us a pizza. You're not going to eat very much exactly

[00:18:59] I mean or maybe at all at all. So give us a nice pizza

[00:19:03] You know, let's have a taco or two sure, you know

[00:19:07] But fine dining now and there's some great places in hickory great place in Charlotte

[00:19:13] Fabulous have you seen the prices on some of these menu items Hank?

[00:19:18] Unbelievable as a non-eater person that doesn't really I don't care about food. I eat for sustenance

[00:19:25] Do you understand saying fuel just to live this drinking dancing machine?

[00:19:31] Just needs a little you selling ready printing printing just a little fuel and so that's what food is to me is fuel

[00:19:37] Granted I don't mind going to a nice dinner sitting down music playing being with some friends

[00:19:42] Jennifer loves it and you know, I enjoy it but she's like a foodie right? She looks exactly like the experience

[00:19:48] You're like the the look she appreciates

[00:19:52] Culinary design all absolutely and I which is perfectly cool. But again the pricing

[00:20:00] Three scallop

[00:20:02] Give me in 48 bucks 48 bones

[00:20:04] Bingo

[00:20:07] Appetizer broccoli something Rob. Give me a number. I'm gonna go with $22 18. Okay 18

[00:20:18] Anyway, I could go on and on but we're gonna go so how many people we have with us tonight

[00:20:23] We have six with us tonight six with us. Yes

[00:20:25] We have my four and my mom and dad Jeremy's got a tennis match my sister

[00:20:30] She you know, she's dealing with those three kids. They're graduating from kindergarten stuff

[00:20:34] She can't get down here. So you think that bills going over under over unders 500

[00:20:39] I'm going over

[00:20:44] The thing is is that you don't play a big bill without alcohol

[00:20:50] Yeah, but I might just have waters. No, you're not. I might just have a few letters my stomach remember

[00:20:56] It hurts it does not hurt that bad

[00:20:59] So you're telling me you haven't had anything

[00:21:04] And the other we're gonna celebrate also is Jennifer's birthday my mom and dad moved into the new place they sold their house yesterday

[00:21:09] Yes, so my dad was like he was pretty excited that is he said but excited at the same time

[00:21:14] So right knows maybe he'll pick up the whole tab. You know what I'm saying?

[00:21:19] Dad you got this one just sold the house. Congratulations slide in the bill. Are you gonna pull that one?

[00:21:25] Were you full it well, I'm gonna say right when the bill comes as a dad

[00:21:29] Sold the house yesterday, right?

[00:21:32] See if he picks up the hint and says give me the bill son. Yeah, we'll see how it goes

[00:21:36] But anyway, Jennifer's worth every minute and every dollar of this dinner tonight. I can't wait to celebrate it

[00:21:42] You deserve it Jennifer Jennifer don't you deserve it?

[00:21:45] Don't let him have a conversation at the table about Lucy Rose. You only get one

[00:21:49] Scalab or Olivia split the three scallops or anything

[00:21:55] Hey, the sky's the limit East family. Let's eat eat all we can. I love it. Hey, that's so great

[00:22:01] So I must say something I was at grand view today. All right grand view is where your son just graduated

[00:22:09] He did and with many awards

[00:22:12] I mean numerous awards very proud of this young man number two in the class

[00:22:17] Yes, he was academic awards and athletic awards I noticed you want to talk a little bit about that before

[00:22:23] He was so he they did the athletic awards like Tuesday and he was a baseball

[00:22:30] MVP great and then he got the six-man award on basketball wonderful

[00:22:34] Which was good, you know is a good experience about those were good experiences and then he got a couple class awards

[00:22:40] especially math awards he's

[00:22:41] You know, he likes math and he he got a couple awards in math where they did competitions at CBC

[00:22:47] and LR and stuff like that he got a

[00:22:51] business

[00:22:52] Entrepreneurial ship award because they do this like shark tank thing which was kind of cool that you know

[00:22:56] They get the opportunity to do that

[00:22:57] And then I think the proudest moment he got the principal award

[00:23:00] Which was the big award there and it just you know, it goes on not only what kind of student you are

[00:23:04] What kind of athlete you are but like how good you are for a grand view?

[00:23:08] And it was great to hear his teachers say, you know

[00:23:10] Really good things and him get recognized for that and so that and then they did

[00:23:15] The GPA and I think it was funny because we were talking about it the other day

[00:23:18] There's smart kids, you know, and you don't know where you you don't know where your kid falls. No, I did so, you know

[00:23:25] They said we're gonna do top 10 GPA for the kids and they this is cumulative GPA from sixth grade sixth grade on

[00:23:31] Yeah on mm-hmm. And so, you know, they they go to number 10

[00:23:34] They say kid and I was like he he's smart kid and then nine

[00:23:38] Smart and you know

[00:23:39] It got to a point where it was like number six and they said the name of the kid and I was like

[00:23:43] Here's that's that kid for help

[00:23:46] Right and then you know number four. I was like, I know that kid's really sorry

[00:23:50] I was like he may not be in that top ten, which would be fine

[00:23:53] Sure, but you know happy for him. He ended up being number two

[00:23:57] He was excited and it was good. Yes. Well, that is wonderful

[00:24:02] Which leads me just to this quick little snippet of the story of grand view

[00:24:05] I went to school there. You did not go to college. Reagan went there Reagan went there

[00:24:09] So anyway a lot of history for me there, but it's pretty amazing

[00:24:12] So I start talking to coach Teague and he we talked about Harris and the awards and all this and he asked about my daughter

[00:24:18] Lucy Rose and then another teacher because they're still finishing up stuff the teachers are you know, so they're still there a couple of them

[00:24:24] Having to be in the gym and they ask about Olivia

[00:24:26] Anyway, what I'm saying is, you know these these teachers they care about these kids. Yeah, they do amazing

[00:24:33] You know, they wanted to know how Olivia hasn't been in junior high for five years

[00:24:38] Yeah, you know and they still remember her and Lucy Rose and Harris and you know, it's just amazing these teachers

[00:24:44] They don't get enough credit bro. They don't they can't get paid enough. I don't get enough credit

[00:24:50] Especially in teaching is not easy anywhere. You are sure right anywhere and I think it's just tough when

[00:24:59] The teachers that are there don't get

[00:25:02] Get resources get help get you know

[00:25:05] I have a ton of students in their classrooms have you know, it's just tough and if if as parents and as alumni

[00:25:13] As friends, you know the more support we can get just makes their day easier. Sure just makes her day

[00:25:18] Anyway, we can make their day a little easier

[00:25:21] We should try to do it. You know what? I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, it was good talking to them

[00:25:27] And I just like being back even though that's not the grand view I went to it's the still the same feeling of family

[00:25:34] And all that good stuff at grand view, you know, even though it's a different school. Yeah. So anyway, it was good

[00:25:39] so

[00:25:40] Let's talk a little bit about summer. The summers ahead of us school is out, you know, we got out Friday

[00:25:45] Yeah, you know now we're kicking it into gear

[00:25:48] summer vacations around the corner, you know, I

[00:25:52] Don't know what y'all have planned but you know, hopefully we we're going to the beach

[00:25:56] We might end up going to Puerto Rico now. Yes some pretty cool stuff

[00:25:59] Livia's got her stuff going utterly delicious Lucy Rose doing her dancing stuff

[00:26:03] So anyway any special things that you're looking forward to or have planned?

[00:26:07] Well, we have the kind of cool thing about Harris's baseball is his coach does it early and quick so it's like the month of June

[00:26:14] We're gonna hit it play it. Have fun. We're going to Nashville. Okay, Raleigh. We're gonna Charlotte

[00:26:20] We're playing five tournaments. And so it kind of is fast and furious and we're playing now to a point where you're seeing

[00:26:27] Kids that you've seen before they're growing it's kind of cool to see parents and friends and everything that you had in that community

[00:26:33] So we're doing that pretty much the month of June

[00:26:35] Afterwards, we've we've kind of done something before and we're hoping to do it again this year is you know

[00:26:40] To having a beach trip where we take three boys, right?

[00:26:44] That's right. That's brave. And so that's our plan

[00:26:47] But you know, we have a couple of the ideas of what we're gonna do kind of outside of it

[00:26:52] We always kind of make a plan of a city

[00:26:54] We try to do a plan where a city where there's a baseball team that we want to go see and then you know, like

[00:26:59] Like I want to go to Chicago

[00:27:00] I've never been to either one of those stadiums and I have not spent hardly any time in Chicago, which is a great town

[00:27:05] Yes, right. We've done national parks. We've done it

[00:27:08] But I kind of want to continue to kind of like be in the US and look in the US

[00:27:12] We're planning a trip in over Christmas for New York New York City and Christmas time, but that's not the summer

[00:27:18] But hopefully one of those

[00:27:20] For the summer as well

[00:27:22] For the summer as well, so I would think Wrigley

[00:27:25] Day game in the summer. I mean that's bucket list stuff

[00:27:29] You know must do so what a plan. I've never done it

[00:27:33] I would love to sit on the outfield with everybody hot dog popcorn and a beer

[00:27:38] It's a beautiful Chicago June day July day probably hot but you know, we let's make the most of it

[00:27:45] How lovely does that sound sounds amazing sounds lovely? So while we're talking about the beach trip

[00:27:50] You know what's going on this week?

[00:27:52] Hank is senior week for most of the high schools and our surrounding area. Do you remember senior week?

[00:27:57] What I did not you did not go we have talked about this before and so I was

[00:28:03] Speaking with one of our friends who was to be a chaperone, but he has been feeling ill

[00:28:07] So he didn't make it

[00:28:08] So he gave me a list of the other chaperones and I was thinking if they're the chaperones who are gonna chaperone them

[00:28:14] Do you understand what I'm saying to you? Yes, the chaperones need some chaperoning. Yes. Yes

[00:28:19] I heard some I heard some some commentary on like, you know, the good thing is you go down there

[00:28:26] Before you were going down. I never went down but the stories I hear, you know

[00:28:29] You and your group would go down or my group would go down and

[00:28:32] There's nobody down there watching. No, we had no chaperones no adult. There's there's no involvement

[00:28:38] There's you know anything you're just down there

[00:28:39] So these people are there obviously to make sure there's some curbs to the road, right?

[00:28:46] But I I was kind of asking one of the parents of I was like, what are the

[00:28:51] Requirements of a day right and they're like first thing is

[00:28:55] We all eat breakfast, right?

[00:28:58] We all eat dinner and that goes back to the base

[00:29:01] Sure, it goes back to the base

[00:29:03] Yes

[00:29:03] but I think the thing the tough thing is is that when you get the beach and there's

[00:29:08] 15 of you and then 15 more show up that are the girls from your high school and then 10 more show

[00:29:13] Up from another house from your high school guys

[00:29:15] Yeah, right and then another high school shows up and then another high school because we didn't have social media

[00:29:20] So you would be out there like you wouldn't bump just bump into somebody from Fred T Ford or st

[00:29:25] Stevens like phone calls and logistics and everything else now all of a sudden

[00:29:29] That first day you could have 75 people out in front of your house

[00:29:33] No, Dan the thing about it too without social media like st

[00:29:36] Stevens and Fred T Ford and bandies they had their own stuff. We would not all come together as one

[00:29:40] We were like enemies now they're all friends. Yeah, I mean there's a social media

[00:29:45] Yes

[00:29:46] and so instead of just the hickory high school folks now you've got st

[00:29:49] Stevens and Newton and bunker hill all coming together as one so I don't envy those chaperones

[00:29:55] It would be hard to kind of keep everything like but these kids are good

[00:29:59] I'm sure they'll listen and do what they're supposed to but I can just easily see it getting out of hand

[00:30:05] You know

[00:30:06] Well in the other thing is to is the liability right sitting there as a parent you can say oh we want to have fun

[00:30:13] We want to do it whatever we want. Hey, I don't want my kids to get in trouble

[00:30:17] Be I'm not getting in trouble for you

[00:30:18] Right, right

[00:30:19] And so that's the fine line before you know

[00:30:22] You walk another street and you have a beer in your hand cop would be like hey

[00:30:24] You can't do that go now all of a sudden he's like, where'd you get the beer?

[00:30:28] Who's your parent did they have beer in your fridge time for you to get locked up?

[00:30:32] Like a bomb lose your business

[00:30:34] Repo your cars we're gonna have all this stuff

[00:30:36] So I mean there is like some consequences to it and 18 year olds

[00:30:39] You got a you know, you have to talk to them about listen

[00:30:42] You will have all the fun in the world, right?

[00:30:44] We just got to have some guardrails on here. Keep your head on your shoulders. Make sure you're making right decisions

[00:30:48] I did read there was a rule list and I saw one of the rules and it said

[00:30:52] You know, I'm here to provide a safe place for you to live or to stay for the week

[00:30:57] You know have fun as you said

[00:30:59] But if you go and do your own thing and you get arrested I'm not your daddy

[00:31:04] So do not call me to bail you out

[00:31:06] You call your real daddy and he or your daddy friend Hickory and he will have to come and get you out

[00:31:11] You know, that's fair. You know, that is absolutely fair

[00:31:14] So that you got to make the right decision

[00:31:17] so yeah

[00:31:18] You don't get thrown in the slammer because at Myrtle Beach for a while

[00:31:21] It was known as like Hickory

[00:31:23] It was the second Hickory police department because so many people from Hickory would get thrown in jail during senior week. It's crazy

[00:31:30] Yeah, I once heard it like about the time we were going down there

[00:31:33] I think it was a few years before me like my sister's yes time

[00:31:36] They would like the week of senior week

[00:31:38] they figured out what our senior week was and then at the police station on the the

[00:31:43] Marquis it was like well, okay, hi students. I

[00:31:47] Believe that I definitely believe that that's so funny. Well have they're up there having a great time at senior week

[00:31:53] You know, they asked me to come down there

[00:31:55] I was gonna go with one of our friends and I was like this is the worst

[00:31:59] Worst decision worst idea ever and if I were to say yes the worst decision I could have ever made so

[00:32:05] I've simply said no. Yeah

[00:32:08] Distance, you know, like it would be hard because

[00:32:12] Exactly hanging with the dudes, but you're still supposed to be the

[00:32:16] Chaperone figure do you think the chaperones are hanging with the dudes or do you think the chaperones are hanging with the chaperones?

[00:32:20] They're hanging with the chaperones, but you know during times of the day they're kind of all hands together

[00:32:25] You know like an evening time

[00:32:26] I saw pictures of them all hanging out in the deck and you know

[00:32:29] The chaperones were hanging out and the kids were on the deck

[00:32:32] But I don't think during the day I think they kind of go if they're going to the beach chaperones

[00:32:36] I'm gonna have rights are going to the beach. They're kind of staying put in that house. Sure getting rich. Yes

[00:32:41] Getting it ready for the next party or whatever is going on at the house. But anyway, I'm sure they're having a ball

[00:32:48] Hank I want to cut this one short because I got one more topic I wanted to talk about and I think you could run

[00:32:53] Through this real quick, but

[00:32:55] We could save it for another time too unless you have something there. You really want to say

[00:32:58] All right

[00:32:59] So last show and I did this with my girls the other day to test it to see what they said

[00:33:03] So we've talked about all kinds of things about you're a sitcom kind of fellow

[00:33:07] I mean I I look to you for your wisdom about sitcoms and so we picked out the top sitcoms

[00:33:12] We never talked about the best characters in a few of these sitcoms and some of them, you'll know immediately

[00:33:17] You'll know exactly who you think's the funniest right character not the best character the funniest sure because you live your life

[00:33:25] Trying to be funny

[00:33:28] That's part of your MO is you try to be the funniest guy in the room

[00:33:32] I mean normally it does not work but you try at least you try so hard

[00:33:36] Listen, I say this all the time

[00:33:38] When I get in a room a lot of people tend to attack and that's what you do when an alpha

[00:33:44] You don't want you you you don't like me in the room with you I get it I get it

[00:33:50] I'm the biggest alpha in this town, sir

[00:33:54] Whatever you want to say yes, I am. Okay, so I'm gonna go through a couple of these shows and

[00:33:59] You tell me who the funniest character is

[00:34:01] Okay, you can think about it a little bit because some of them are tough first. We'll say family guy

[00:34:05] That's your favorite show who is the funniest?

[00:34:08] That's I mean, it's kind of hard. Yeah, I think Peters by far the funniest guy fair done

[00:34:12] Let's go curb your enthusiasm. Larry could not not be what about JB smooth?

[00:34:18] He's pretty funny. It's pretty hilarious Larry David is you'd know it's coming from him. Yeah, so it makes him fun

[00:34:24] Okay, I'll agree with that friends. Oh god

[00:34:28] It's gotta be

[00:34:31] This one's easy to me but it's gotta be

[00:34:35] What's the guy with that just passed Chandler Chandler easily?

[00:34:38] It's gotta be cuz he has kind of the he's the wittiest. Yeah, you know, so yeah the witty

[00:34:43] That's stupid and the other guys pathetic cares. Yeah, so out of the girls though, Phoebe

[00:34:49] I think Phoebe's pretty hilarious cuz she's like dim. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah anyway, which is quick. She's quick bingo

[00:34:55] Let's go a little blast from the past and let's go family ties

[00:34:59] This is Alex P Keaton. Yeah, you know, this was like in the 80s you would did you watch this one? Yeah

[00:35:07] Didn't they have a little sister that was pretty witty. Yes. Yeah, I can't any others was her name

[00:35:11] Yeah, I can't remember her so I would write she was blonde and she always she didn't have many lines

[00:35:16] But they always gave her the one-liners to make they get the laughs. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so that's fair enough

[00:35:20] I say the dad in that show to me

[00:35:23] He didn't have many lines either but the things he said were so off the wall thought it was great

[00:35:27] So you normally everybody would say Alex P Keaton, but I'm going the dad you're going the sister. Let's go King of Queens

[00:35:33] This is the easiest of the easy

[00:35:36] His partner no, yeah, you think the lady is the

[00:35:41] Not the partner his is a UPS partner Deacon

[00:35:46] Okay, thank you. He's pretty funny. So I go with the

[00:35:49] Kevin James, but Kevin James brother to me in that show is hilarious

[00:35:54] Kind of you know what I mean? Yeah, he's pretty great. Let's go Simpsons the Simpsons

[00:36:02] Probably the funniest person on there

[00:36:06] Would be Homer

[00:36:08] Homer is the funniest easily no doubt are we getting down to the end here these last couple will be tough

[00:36:13] So the office

[00:36:18] Dwight Schroot fair fair enough

[00:36:21] I said so I said Steve Carroll the stick corral or whatever his name is and it was his name on this real show

[00:36:30] Michael Michael Michael, so Dwight was there to

[00:36:34] Olivia

[00:36:36] Anyway, I changed it like three times. I couldn't read it. I had Dwight on my list funny PAM's. Okay

[00:36:41] Do you think Jim's funny? I think Jim's kind of funny. I think

[00:36:45] Situational funny. I think the big the heavyset guy with the balls and oh that's uh, oh gosh

[00:36:51] I got Kevin Stan's African-American. Yes. Yes. Yes, Kevin. I think Kevin hilarious

[00:36:55] I know who it is now remember the guy who calls Jim big tuna. Yes that he has the alka

[00:37:03] Acapella group

[00:37:07] So it would be yeah probably Dwight or him to me

[00:37:10] All right. Now we're going to modern family. This is a tough one to me. It's a tough one

[00:37:16] It's not for me man the real estate agent the dad the dad exactly so the dad is everybody's number one

[00:37:22] He's actually one of the funniest characters in all of sitcoms. However, there's this dude named cam

[00:37:29] So there's cam and the other in their gay partner. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah cam is a bigger dude on

[00:37:35] Hilarious everything cam does I'll give it to the dad but cam is right under there

[00:37:39] So that was closer than I really thought it would be because I thought the dad had it easily

[00:37:43] But cam clothes and then I say the best for last for you. So Seinfeld that funniest character on

[00:37:50] Okay, so I got a kind of like two-tier this I think I think Jerry Seinfeld's

[00:37:57] By far the funniest guy on there

[00:37:59] David putty was only in about seven episodes buddy and in everybody knows buddy

[00:38:04] Yes, he was in seven episodes and it was he was only in seven. It was something

[00:38:08] I think it's seven. It was like something ridiculous like that

[00:38:11] But out of that group I mean

[00:38:14] Kramer is like physical funny, right? But George is probably

[00:38:21] My favorite George to me is the funniest. I mean he everything he does and says is to me is just hilarious

[00:38:28] There's nothing really that he doesn't do or say that's not funny to me

[00:38:31] So I read a story in and I saw actually a video cuz I went a little bit further and looked at us

[00:38:36] But I looked at it and they were talking about George's line when he wanted to be a marine biologist

[00:38:41] right

[00:38:42] And so they they were writing and you know how the ending ends with Kramer hitting the golf ball

[00:38:48] so they were just doing the

[00:38:51] Kramer golf thing and then the whale and they were just gonna have George walking down the beach and then like

[00:38:57] 12 hours before they were going to go to it

[00:38:59] They were like one of the writers was like I got it

[00:39:02] Have a ball go in there and then they you know

[00:39:05] He said he was gonna be a marine biologist so it all kind of like connected. You know, it's all live

[00:39:09] yeah, and so

[00:39:11] Jerry wrote it with the

[00:39:14] Writing team and they gave it to George and you know

[00:39:17] It's a huge monologue like, you know, he goes into this whole diatribe about what he did and he was like you've got

[00:39:22] like

[00:39:23] Six hours to memorize it and it's you know, it's all live. They don't have second cuts

[00:39:28] Whatever and they said that George did not

[00:39:31] Miss a beat they said he looked at him. It was like I'll be able to do it

[00:39:34] Oh, wow

[00:39:35] And so they started it and they showed a video of him doing it and it shows Jerry's face and in like all

[00:39:40] Like because but it looks like he's enjoying the story
