[00:00:55] And walking into the Fourth of July with a personal firework arsenal You're ready We've been traveling the streets and we've been going to South Carolina, Tennessee You know playing baseball and the hair-simer could be a tad bit of a pyromaniac Just like his father

[00:01:15] And so we go into these things and these stores and he thinks that we're putting on a show for many and we are not And we're not talking about this simple little black cat or your standard Roman candle No, no, no, no Big time

[00:01:31] We have cylinders that need to be purchased to set these things off So we are walking into the Fourth with Fully loaded This arsenal Let me ask you a question I was just talking to a buddy of ours before I came in here today

[00:01:45] Regarding, you know, we have a little firework show in the area of the golf course that we have And so they normally do it up It's pretty big time I've never been there but I hear it's like a big event

[00:01:58] So our friend mentioned, do you think we should worry that it hasn't rained in three weeks And we're getting ready to set, you know, World War III off out here I was like probably that's a good thing to think about I don't know who you talked to

[00:02:09] But I talked to that same gentleman And we talked about the same thing Because, you know, there's a lot of pine trees and pine needles And stuff like that And so I'm concerned that we could have a little bit of trouble

[00:02:25] Are you going to that spot to do your fireworks or do you go to the shows? No, we go to a different spot We go to a friend's house and we just shoot off personal stuff

[00:02:32] I think everybody says they have a great time and it's a great show But we are not We're going to go to the same spot we always go to Yeah, I started this story You know, there's little snap pops You buy by the convenience store

[00:02:46] You're just throwing the... Yeah That's about... I don't like fireworks I'm not a big fan I've seen some injuries happen in my day To friends And fireworks kind of scare me I like watching them I just don't like to be kind of close by

[00:03:01] You don't like the lighter in your hand You know, the pops that you have We bought at the last fireworks store They have them And they're as loud as a black cat You can buy serious ones And when you throw them down it's not like Pop, pop

[00:03:19] If you pinch those, you know how people pinch If you did these, your index and thumb would fly In different directions That powerful I think so I love them though I love them because we... Harrison and I will get out on the driveway

[00:03:34] And throw them a little bit They're loud My first experience with those little snapy pops Was in junior high I think I was in sixth grade And one of the hoodlums of the school Brought a pack of them And like when the teacher would turn around

[00:03:46] He'd throw it at the chalkboard And the teacher would turn back around And everybody just acted real cool And I mean, that's unbelievable Can you imagine throwing a firework At a chalkboard these days? Holy cow, no That would be impossible But anyway, that was my first experience

[00:04:01] With the snap pops Hank, just got back from a wonderful Baseball vacation, correct? Yes So let's tell our audience about How lovely the trip was Was it just 99 degrees So we went to Nashville, right? Nashville is not by the ocean So you don't get a breeze

[00:04:21] It is hot Okay So we went there and we played Left Thursday, played Friday, Saturday, Sunday And then got bracketed Monday And then we play Monday, Tuesday if we win So we play Friday at 2.45 Okay It is a billion Kelvins Right then Oh yes Okay So we were

[00:04:46] Let me tell you what I was doing here I have a tent, okay? When you put up a tent Everybody becomes your best friend Yes Chairs start Yes Moving under Just trying to get shade Just for the leg Or their neck Yes, the neck

[00:05:02] Or something like that, right? All of a sudden I find myself I'm not in the shade I've got a towel I'm perspiring I have this DeWalt fan That I bought last year That's battery powered That is Right Next thing you know one of the kids

[00:05:17] That's not even one of your kids Has your fan Oh wow Right, because they're hot Sure Right So it is a billion degrees And I'm just going to tell you one of the Highlights of this trip I drop hair off

[00:05:30] He's got to be at the field an hour before It's a Sunday Nothing's open We play at 2.45 again So at 1.45 Heat of the day Heat of the day Hot as cold I find out that my left tire Has a nail in it So I go to advanced auto

[00:05:46] And I have to buy a plug kit Right Okay, yes Find plug kit Very expensive for what it is Drive back to a convenience store Because I know I'm going to need air So I don't want to pull the object out Before I, right? Sure

[00:06:01] So I go to the convenience store I park in front of the air Pull the object out I don't have the tire off Because it's on the car, right? So I have to lay down On the 195 degree asphalt Right? And try to jam this piece of black

[00:06:18] Licorice into my tire I get up And I look like I just got my butt kicked Sure Right? Then I have to go out and watch my kid Play ball, which is amazing But sit on a steel bleacher I mean, it was ridiculous It was like the hottest

[00:06:38] One of the hottest vacations With no reward Because there's no water It's not like you're at the beach or by a pool Right We're just dirty No relief Sweating No relief None So did you get your fan back by at least? By game, like three of the weekend

[00:06:55] I had that thing I securely inserted my dominance on everybody Like nobody's touching my fan Not even Reagan If we wanted to, we should have got to Sure But we ended up playing super well Through Thursday Got the number three seed out of 27 teams Wow

[00:07:13] Played the 14th seed First game on Monday Lost came home Oh dang Yeah, but it gave us, we lost early Our first game was at nine And then we proceeded to go down to Broadway And listen to some live music Funny, Nashville is alive all the time Yeah

[00:07:31] And you know, my son It was funny, we went to Morgan Wallin's bar And we ate dinner Thursday night That we were there And they have multiple floors They must spend a million dollars per floor I mean, you know, they've got bars Soundproof the band downstairs

[00:07:47] You don't hear them If you're on the second level it's amazing But we sat there and we watched this band At Morgan Wallin's bar And we're up top looking down At the bar And there's this young man God bless him We've been there

[00:08:02] He was stumbling all over the place Oh, Lord Right, it was probably eight o'clock That was the young CJ Hines Yeah, it did Probably 25, right? Trying to give high fives to the band Oh, gosh, that guy And this girl, I guess it's his girlfriend

[00:08:16] They were with each other And next thing you know She's got a denim Everybody's in cowboy hats Cabo hats, boots, denim Bellbuckles, she's got this denim halter top on My man grabs her by the halter top And pulls her over to him Harris looks at me like

[00:08:35] What's going on? I was like, man This is what people are watching all about Oh, the Nashville for that kind of stuff With the cowboy hats You see the Hawk Tua girl down there I did not see her Oh, but you know it's funny that you said that

[00:08:47] Because Zach Bryant had a concert In Nashville Friday night When we were there And she got on stage I heard She also signed a deal with an agent For 1.7 million dollars I know For 15 seconds worth of whatever We say stupid stuff Every day

[00:09:03] Why don't we get paid for it? Chimchunk Joe I don't know There you go I don't know I can't even believe That that, you know That warrants that much money Sure Just tells you about the state of America So that was your last weekend

[00:09:21] I'm gonna tell you a little bit about mine We were in North Carolina The wonderful Hickory North Carolina In a golf tournament And granted yes It was 95 to 98 degrees Most of the tournament But we got the early tee time 99 out of 100 times Hank

[00:09:34] I will complain about the 8 o'clock tee time Like oh my gosh You expect me to get out there at 7 Get ready to tee off at 8 This particular weekend I was pleased All for it Let's do it at Can we start at 7 o'clock? Sure

[00:09:50] So we get off at the first Saturday Saturday or first tee time As we get off at 8 We're done at 12, 12.15 Topped We're back under the shade You know Having a cold beer Eating a hot dog Watching everybody else Some groups And particularly one of our friends

[00:10:05] Was in the last flight To tee off Like when we're like Three holes left They ought to see them getting Just getting it To tee to tee one And so I think it was about a 6 and a half hour round So he was out there From let's say 11, 11.30

[00:10:21] Almost till like 5, 6 o'clock In the heat of the day Right In the heat of the day And he did not have hair He did not have hair To protect him from the sun I don't know if he even had a hat on

[00:10:32] I'm sure he had lots of sunscreen on this He would have to Yes, but anyway I heard it was a tough go for them But thank goodness for the early tee time So listen to Father of the Year here So Saturday Boom

[00:10:44] Kind of take it into the early evening Get home at a decent hour Because I know we have to do it again On Sunday Decent hour I got home at 9.30 PM Yes, PM Well I was saying No, 9.30 PM Yes We start We're at the golf course

[00:11:02] Your family's already eaten They've already watched the show They've showered They want nothing to do with you Seems to be smoking Continue with your story Lots of the basement as normal But you know Because we had been kind of messing around All week Wednesday

[00:11:12] The NC State Caravan came to town Went up to City Walk Met with them Thursday Of course there was something Friday was the practice round That led into the hum Like all the stuff that was going on Around I think the hum was That was Saturday Well anyway

[00:11:26] So now we're to Sunday Finish our round We were terrible You know we thought we'd be in the hunt We had a triple bogey on a whole Which you know If you make a triple bogey in a tournament You ain't winning So that kind of squashed our hopes

[00:11:38] And so everybody gets around After the round Talking about the day It's like 1.30 I snuck out Normally I'm going to be there Till kind of the end Snuck out Get to the house The girls were like Let's go see a movie dad

[00:11:52] Alright so this has been a long weekend But you know what Put on the father of the dad hat Father of the dad Father of the dad Father of the year dad hat Put on the buckle father of the year Let's go on to the movies girls

[00:12:06] How quickly did you fall asleep In the movie That's what so I was sitting on the end Lucy roses in the middle And Olivia's on the other end And Lucy was like I'll give you five minutes Till I hear you snore And I was like Not today girls

[00:12:18] I'm staying up to watch this Because this one's quiet place Day one Have you heard about this You know what the quiet place is The original one that where Aliens attack the earth And they only can attack you If they hear you Is this Sandra Bullock

[00:12:31] No that's a different one I know what that was Called bird something This is a different one This is with Okay I think I did hear about that Yes and this is the third one Okay so anyway We wanted to see it for a while

[00:12:41] So we get in there And it kind of keeps you on The edge of your seat And all that jazz So we get in there It's uh Relatively cool It's very cool in there Oh yeah that's cool It's a good place For nap taking

[00:12:54] And so the first couple of scenes The aliens attack You actually see the aliens Landing on earth All kinds of weird stuff Happened you'll have to see It's a very short movie Only an hour and 28 minutes But after the movie We start talking about You know if aliens

[00:13:07] Really did come down here So Olivia and I Of course we get on Do our Google searches And we discover this thing Found by the Not the new web telescope By NASA but the old Hubble The old Hubble telescope Has found two new galaxies

[00:13:22] Hank that have a force field Around them Now I ask you Is this force field around them To protect other civilizations From attacking Or does it serve as a prison To make sure they can't leave Do you understand my question To you These alien galaxies

[00:13:44] They have a force field Around them That nobody's talking about These galaxies that are Keeping it hush hush They don't want to scare everyone I'm breaking it now I'm breaking it now They left this in your hands To break on big things To the three listeners Six listeners

[00:14:02] I'm breaking it now But imagine they're looking At these images brought back To us from the Hubble telescope And they see a new galaxy That they've never seen before And it has a shield around it A sphere Are we sure it's not gas? It's not atmosphere

[00:14:17] Are we sure it's not gas? The way that the scientists Described it was a force field Hank, force field Do you understand? I understand I know our producer's trying To pull this up But I understand the premise I understand what a galaxy is

[00:14:32] I understand what a force field is A galaxy with a force field Seems a little ridiculous to me Why don't we investigate How far are they at Maybe it's a magnetic field How far are they at Maybe it's a magnetic field

[00:14:47] How far is this galaxy away from us? I can't give you other details I was just giving the bullet points Galaxies discovered force field Are they keeping something in Or are they keeping something out That's what I would ask you What would you rather the galaxy

[00:15:03] Would you rather be It's like a prison So all the bad aliens and stuff Are stuck in this galaxy And they can't leave Or would you rather the technology be It's a force field to prevent Other alien civilizations From attacking them

[00:15:17] You're asking me if I believe in aliens In a way In a way that's a no-win situation Because you're like Do you believe in these aliens Or these aliens Not do you believe in aliens Listen, I've got to see somebody I've got to see one of these guys

[00:16:18] We're ready to go to the beach in three days Do all the fourth of July stuff tonight Tomorrow And my youngest daughter Was saying Dad, I need some money I need some money I was like Well get a job You know, get a job And she was like

[00:16:31] I work and I can't do anything I was like Well, let's babysit There's a Dog walk Dog walk There's a popcorn shop That they were hiring Let's go do this and that And she was like No Are there any other ideas And so My oldest daughter and I

[00:16:45] We started talking about jobs That I did during the summer What Olivia's done Which is scooping ice cream And one of the jobs Was becoming a server Lucy Rose a little too young To become a server But you can be a hostess At a restaurant or whatever Yeah

[00:16:57] And so We just start shooting the bull And Olivia starts Googling some stuff And then She finds this article About Bill Gates Right And so Bill Gates Goes to a restaurant And it's Let's say it's not even The fanciest restaurant In San Francisco But it's a nice restaurant

[00:17:15] And they see him Come through with his entourage And the servers Are like Licking their chops Like what Sure What areas he gonna be Please Put him in my area Blah blah blah So we start thinking We do some reverse math Let's say Bill Gates was in there

[00:17:30] For three hours The interest on his money In the bank So while he's eating dinner He just made $33 million While he's eating dinner What type of tip do you give this server? I mean do you give this server Your typical 20% If you're Bill Gates I love this one

[00:17:46] What do you 20% on the bill Do you slap him a quick thousand Do you give him $10,000 Let me tell you something Come on Let me tell you something You're getting better at this At this At this question ask Because you're You're trying to

[00:21:37] Saturday morning at 8 sharp O'Killen O'Killen Just your family Yep, so Olivia and I are going down To meet my brother-in-law And then for like a day or two Olivia, Lucy Rose and Jennifer Are going to Cherry Grove with the dance team And then they're coming to meet us

[00:21:52] On Wednesday So it's just gonna be Olivia and I For four days That'd be cool And the cousins for a day or two But yeah, so we're looking forward to that Doing all the stuff that we do Is this where we get the boiled peanuts?

[00:22:03] Is this the trip that we go to the border? Are we going to the same restaurant? Or the same stuff? We get the boiled peanuts? Bingo, D's nuts is the place that it's called D's nuts, that's right Yeah, so hopefully D's nuts is still there

[00:22:26] A little bit ago I got a bunch of books I got two Stephen King's I got a J. Billis book about confidence And then I got this other book Sport Psychology for the Brain How to Win And the reason I've got this

[00:22:38] I've turned into a big-ass loser, Hank Have you? I lost in the golf I've lost the last three matches I played tennis I can't find the edge Can't get over it So I've... I'm gonna... I'm reading a book Sport Psychology The Mind of a Winner

[00:23:29] And you know again A fabulous band It's more jammy Jam band They like two songs Over three hours? Three hours I saw the set list I think there were six songs But anyway Really fabulous time It was just so good But here's the thing

[00:23:43] The place where it was at It was a hot day Very hot day Went down there The band lost its air condition For a little bit So that was tough start But we all made it down there It was pretty awesome We get into the place

[00:23:54] And it is sold out to the max I mean there is no room To even move And it's hot And I'm little And we're in the back row And all these dudes are in front of me I can't see anything I mean I can't see nothing

[00:24:07] You know like I'm peering my head over here Left, right I can't see anything So we've been up there for a bit And I'm listening And everybody's grooving And I don't have any visual Yeah you can't get down I don't know what's done Yeah I cannot get down

[00:24:19] Cause I'm hearing it And they sound wonderful But I can't see them But you need to see them moving But you need to see them moving Yeah I gotta see a shoulder shake like this Yeah Watch this See what I'm doing there Yeah I saw it

[00:24:30] Just watch this See this color of worms You should have got on somebody's shoulders Yeah well They asked if I wanted to But I would never do that I would never So anyway long story short I sneak through the crowd Grab a beer And I'm kinda like

[00:24:42] Hang it There's a separation point The people that's been VIP VIP spot Compared to the lawn folks Like us So I'm right on the edge And they're security They're watching everybody Like a hawk But I'm being cool I'm just sitting over there Grooving just right at the spot

[00:24:56] Where they don't want you to stand Yeah So they keep saying Let's move along here Let's move along Keep moving Yeah so The sun finally goes down And I go back to the spot And the security guard Is talking to this Really pretty girl Like woman or whatever

[00:25:10] So I sneak right behind them And there's this little spot That has like chairs For people that submit the money It's not down where the seats are But it's like the little cement area Where there's a couple chairs And I look to my left And there's this dude

[00:25:23] That is passed out cold Sure So I sneak right beside him And I just start You know just dancing like I'm looking at the drunk guy Like yeah yeah yeah I'm talking to him like You dropped your keys buddy Like we're buddies And he's looking at me

[00:25:36] And I was like Good show right And he's like Yeah And so the security yard Sees me and assumes I'm good Yeah Half an hour VIP I'm cruising Digging Blah blah blah So tap tap tap tap tap on my shoulder And I turn around And it's Mr. Zagaroli

[00:25:53] Big music fan Huge music fan We've seen many a concert together I love watching music with him He's fabulous And I was like Charlie come on in here Get in here So he pops in there And we're grooving 15 seconds later The security guard says Excuse me sir

[00:26:08] Where did you come from Let me see your tickets And then he was like Let me see your ticket Spot blown Back to the cheap seats I'm out What if you would have looked At that security guard And said Let me see your ticket

[00:26:21] Or I don't know who this guy is Get out of here Move along Move along That would have been something Imposter That would have been something Can you believe him I can't believe he would Stoop to this Beautiful So anyway We got our heads down

[00:26:35] And we're back to the cheap seats But anyway A really fun, fun trip Good stuff The goose I would suggest You listen to him Especially live Just tremendous talent But be prepared You don't really know when the song stops And when the next one begins

[00:26:52] It kind of just all blends together But still, really It's kind of like that It's like Then it gets slow And it's like Y'all are absolutely killing me right now You're killing me right now It just started back up We hear it Our tennis bro

[00:27:12] At the club plays a lot of that music And I swear sometimes we have We're out there for an hour And we listen to one song Same song for one hour And then there's no lyrics Sometimes it's just Ding ding ding ding ding ding

[00:27:24] And there's some keys playing And you hear a little drum And then you hear like One word like Woo! Baby! And then you won't hear another thing For 20 minutes You know Come on That's a song-ender right there Let's go, let's go Anyway, fun, fun, fun in the sun

[00:27:38] Well I've kind of thought about this And this is not that concert It's just concerts in general Okay You know You go to different shows And you're like There's different types Of individuals at every show Like heavy metal shows Or you know Christian rock And then you've got

[00:27:56] Jam bands And you always wonder Like certain groups Like take the Grateful Dead In the past How many Of the individuals that were At the show Were on some sort Were completely sober In the 70s Very few Say zero to one percent Very few

[00:28:16] How many were just drinking alcohol Very few Right? Sure Then you started like going down the road Loosen the gen eggs And you know All kinds of stuff I wonder this about these shows now Like you know like I'm sure Goose was a great There's some great percentages

[00:28:34] Questions Yes, yes I mean you could kind of scale it Down to a smaller scale I don't know whether I could probably guess a percentage But I don't know I would say probably Not that many Times have changed Times have changed Not too many But you know

[00:28:51] Got lots of beer You know all that stuff Sure, sure But just Lot of fun Wonderful show Wonderful show Yes You know I would do it again In a second Well I heard you had A really good group of guys Yes Like you had a bunch

[00:29:06] There was like 10 of you right I think there actually were 14 14 I heard the group that was going I was like Oh that'd be fun Because I don't listen to that kind of music But it really depends on the group Yeah That you go down there

[00:29:17] The group makes it The group makes the trips It does We were real fortunate It was really good And then you know There's all kinds of other good music That happened last week At the home in Uptown And anyway It's gonna continue Throughout the summer So you know

[00:29:30] You make sure you check out Some of these bands Hank And you know Who knows Maybe the Dingle Dangles My band We might even get back together Right before school starts Okay The Dingle Dangles You know us Yeah I've heard of you Yeah I've heard of you
