Look, these robes, I be everywhere in this robe, all I thought.

The Beyonce album.

[00:03:08] I guess she won country. Mm-hmm. Uh... And, uh... So let me sit back and... You know, you got... You can't... You can't just listen to Beyonce, any kind of... You gotta sit in the room. You gotta sit back and chill. Nah, that's the plan. Nah, I ain't heard it, man. I be... I be all the people in the world. I'm like, what's all the talk about? Yeah. So I have heard of Texas Hold'em. I haven't heard of the full album. Texas Hold'em is a catchy song.

[00:03:37] Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I like Beyonce. But... I don't think she would've won... She should've won country album. Really? Okay, do tell. That's probably a hot take. What do you mean? Like... Who you think should've won? Well, I feel like if you're the Grammys... And you wanna pick somebody to win country album... That's kinda like that pop route. Like Beyonce. Yeah.

[00:04:05] Then you should've picked Post Malone F1 Trillion. That should've... Been the winner. I don't know nothing about it. Did you watch the Grammys? I didn't watch. No, I haven't watched it. I just saw where Beyonce won country album. And again, I'm not trying to... Like... Throw shade at Beyonce. Because Texas Hold'em is a catchy tune. A little bit of shade. Just a little bit. Yeah, I had you gonna have the beehive on you.

[00:04:33] And I like some of Beyonce's songs. But... I don't think she should've won country album. Of the year. Like if you want to go more that pop route. Post Malone. Shaboozy would've been better. I ain't gonna lie. Shaboozy would be rockin'. I mean, a bar song? Like that should've been... That's more of a country tune than Texas Hold'em.

[00:05:04] Yeah, I get it. But I don't know. This is the thing. It's probably about... Is it about votes? I don't know how you win a Grammy. How you win a Grammy. I'm not sure if it's like votes. Or like just a panel of people. If it's votes. If it's votes. Then there's no way Shaboozy would beat Beyonce. There's no one beating Beyonce. Well, but I think like... If you're leaving it to the public... Then I believe somebody could beat Beyonce.

[00:05:34] As far as like country. Are you serious? Well, apparently they didn't. Right. I mean, I am curious now. Like how do they vote on that? Because I'm surprised. Like if you're a true country music fan. You're not voting for Beyonce. To win country album of the year. I like country music. I mean, I have a pretty wide selection of country. If I was voting on it. I would have voted for... Let's see. I think...

[00:06:04] Didn't George Strait come out with a country album this year? I think. Apparently you didn't hear it. So how could it work? Yeah, apparently I didn't. I've heard bits and pieces. I've heard bits and pieces. But I don't know if it came out this year or... I mean, last year or when. It's all opinion. Well, this is the thing. Just like if you did hear... Like you may go back and hear some of these people that... Some of their music later. We said George Strait. You go back and hear if he did drop something.

[00:06:33] And you're going to listen to it. It could be a better album. Maybe I'll say... But you didn't know until after the Grammy. That was even out. To go listen to it. But that's the... Let's see each. That's the deal. You can't... You can't... Like it could be... Albums are better at... You could have some... Let me just give an example.

[00:06:59] Like the number of people who have went and listened to Beyonce's album to say, yeah, that's a good album. Versus the number of people that would have went to go... What was it? Post Malone? Yeah. Post Malone. Post Malone album. That would actually went to even just to go... Just to go hear it.

[00:07:30] Not even to... Ain't enough people compared to Beyonce. Beyonce got people from all over the place just because of her name that would go listen to it. I'm like, oh, out of the albums, they only maybe only listen to the one, even one country album. And so... But they... I guess if it's voting, then the votes would count. And so each year Grammy...

[00:07:57] Moose always drops some facts in the comments. I appreciate you, Moose. Each year Grammy winners and Grammy nominees are determined as voted by the Recording Academy's voting membership. Which is composed of music creators, including artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers. Registered companies are not permitted to vote in the Grammy awards process.

[00:08:22] So if you've got songwriters, producers, artists, engineers, music creators... Who not going to... Out of old people, not going to vote for Beyonce. Everybody won't vote for Beyonce. I mean, I guess certain artists and producers would vote for Beyonce. If I was an artist, I wouldn't have voted for Beyonce. I would have voted... Yeah, you would have. No, I would have voted...

[00:08:47] Because I was like, hey, you getting in the room, like, hey, Isaiah, Beyonce want to be on your record. Want to be on your record. And like, oh man, I ain't even vote for her on the Grammys. Never mind, Beyonce don't want you on... Want to be on your record no more. I'd just be like, okay, I'll see if I can get Luke Combs, an actual country artist that... I like Luke. See, there you go. He should have...

[00:09:14] He would have been a better pick to represent country music. Luke Combs voted for Beyonce. Luke Combs. We need to get him on the podcast and be like, did you vote for Beyonce? I say, how dare you vote for Beyonce? Real talk, I got... I'm heavy Luke Combs in my playlist, man. I got a nice selection of Luke. Let me see, from Hurricane to doing this. I got a lot of this music in my... And I didn't realize he was from Charlotte.

[00:09:44] Well, I think he was born in Charlotte, but he grew up in Asheville. Okay, right down the way. He's still right here in the mix, close by. So, yeah, he's Western North Carolina. Yeah, I'd rather... But still, he voted for Beyonce. Yeah, probably. Hey, Laney Wilson. Laney Wilson. That would have been a better pick. I don't know. He got all of those people.

[00:10:12] Now, even if it was the general public of people, like people that have... Maybe not so much, because there's some of these people that are like artists and producers, songwriters. Like all these... They're not all in just... In the country genre of music. They're doing other stuff. So they're working with artists. Is it just the country artists that could have voted in that category, or is it just across

[00:10:41] the board of whomever artists? Just the membership. I guess the members. All right. I need to write a song so I can get a vote. There you go. See if you can get any Grammy nominations. Yeah. We need to do a cover of Boats and Hoes from Step Brothers. What? I don't even know what that song is. What is it?

[00:11:09] It's a song that they do in Step Brothers. And I like hoes. So, it sounds like a good song. It's Will Ferrell and... Oh, what's that other guy's name that is in a bunch of the Will Ferrell movies? I know you don't know. I can't think of his name. John C. Reilly. And they're on... That didn't do nothing to do with it either. Now I know his name. I've seen his face before. What's his name again? John C. Reilly.

[00:11:38] John C. Reilly. And they're on this big old yacht, or not yacht, sailboat. And then, I mean, it's like a fancy sailboat. And they're like rapping this song, Boats and Hoes. And all of a sudden, the stepdad's like, who's steering the boat? And about that time, the boat crashes and gets destroyed. You funny.

[00:12:08] Because they're trying to create a video. Hey, Will. So we need somebody that has a nice sailboat. But you know what? This one thing I don't remember seeing. I've seen a lot of rap videos and R&B videos. So... Oh, really? I guess I have to go look on YouTube or something. Is there a... I guess a... What CMT, Country Music Station? Television?

[00:12:38] CMT? Mm-hmm. Yeah, CMT. I guess they have country music videos on there. I can't even tell you what's a... What's a good country music video? Oh, I had some help. Post Malone and Morgan Wallen. That's a good one. I had... Oh, if I had some help. I know that song. What's another good one? Pour Me a Drink. I think...

[00:13:07] That's another Post Malone and Blake Shelton one. I don't really got no Post Malone. I'm mad at it. I'm trying to think of some more country music videos that are pretty good. That came out this year. I think... Oh, Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood. I can't think of the name of the song. But that's a good music video. And it shows the horses running and stuff.

[00:13:39] What's the name of it? It's Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood. I'm Gonna Love You, I think. I think that's the name of the song. And that's a really good music video. I like it, though. I can't wait till the rest of the artists come into the genre. We done had... I like when artists go over to the other genres of music. Right. And do that crossover stuff. Yeah, like you got... Who is it?

[00:14:10] Morgan Whalen and Lil Durk. They'll do an album. Yeah, Broadway Girls. Yeah, or they'll do a... I can't wait. Or you'll have other artists like T.I. do a gospel song. Snoop Dogg do a gospel album. Like that type of... Or... I don't know. Didn't... Is it T-Pain? Didn't he do some country? He did...

[00:14:39] He did some stuff like... I know he's done some covers like... He's sung Tennessee Whiskey. Yeah. But I don't know. Some of it is more vocal. What makes it country for you? What's make... Because you said teeters from pop to country. What makes a country song for you? That's a tough one. What defines it as country?

[00:15:04] It's just like a certain sound and a certain vibe to me that makes it country. What is the vibe and the sound? Well, I mean, you gotta have a little bit of that twang in the song. Like that tip... Like... That country... They gotta sound how you talk. Twang. Well, not... Like I'm talking about like the... Like the music style. Like I like a good pedal still in a country song like that.

[00:15:34] Uh... What you said? A who? A steel guitar. The guitar that they play sitting down. Like I like that in a good country song. That to me that needs... That should be featured in a good country song. Guitar. And I don't know. Like the instruments like have to create a certain like... Twangy country sound.

[00:16:10] I'm trying to think of a... I don't know. Cause you could... I'm gonna love you. That's the name of the... Um... That's the music video. It's Carrie Underwood and Cody Johnson. And that is a good music video. You said Cody Johnson. And Carrie Underwood. I'm gonna love you. That's a good one.

[00:16:41] The Painter. That's a good music video. But that came out in I think 2023. Mm-hmm. So if you feel that... That wasn't the best... Beyonce didn't... Shouldn't have got the album. What... Why do you think... The other people should have got it? Well... So post Malone... Like he actually... Like... Like on F1 Trillion... He did a bunch of collabs... With like legit country artists.

[00:17:11] And I think even Beyonce said like... Cowboy Carter isn't really a country album. It's still more of a pop album. Mm-hmm. But with these other ones... It's more... You know... Towards country... With a little bit of pop. Huh. But what makes it more toward country... Than pop? Well I'd say like... Especially with like... Shaboozy... And... Post Malone. Let me see who was on the...

[00:17:40] I don't know who the... She had Willie Nelson... Nelson... Shaboozy on the album. Dolly Parton. What? Wait... Dolly Parton was on Cowboy Carter? Yeah. That's what it say. Wow. Yeah. That's a... Yeah. Let me see. We got a... She did a whole... What? 27... Songs?

[00:18:10] Golly. And Willie Nelson was on there too? Maybe I'll have to... Go back and listen to Cowboy Carter and see it. You ain't even listened to her. You said she wasn't supposed to win. Look at that. She done dropped classics on here. With... It's automatically rolled off. Cowboy Carter. I mean I do like Texas Hold'em. That's a catchy tune. Is that the only one you know?

[00:18:39] That's the only one you heard? I think I've heard of a couple other ones. But Texas Hold'em is the one that sticks out. You can't actually say... Because it's 27th day... That she didn't have the best album. She could have the best album because she got more songs than everybody else. Like what's a... Let's see. Let me see. Luke Coles. Okay. We can establish that Luke is a country singer, right? That's... He is...

[00:19:07] That he is solidified in the genre of country music. Would you say? Oh yeah. For sure. All right. So let me see. I'm gonna look at... One of his... Let's see. Which one would be the one? Growing up... Let's see. I was dropping 22. It only had 12 songs on it.

[00:19:36] And Cowboy Carter has 26. And yeah. Dolly Parton is actually featured a couple times on this album. Just by the sheer number of songs. She got two albums in one. Wow. And yeah. Willie Nelson's on one of them. But I think Luke Combs came out with another album last year. Fathers and Sons.

[00:20:07] That's a good one. Yep. I ain't listened to it yet. I'm glad. See? I didn't know it came out. I didn't know. I got it. Lainey Wilson. Wilson Whirlwind. That's a good one. Hey. I have that on CD. What? That one that you was just talking about. Oh. Growing up and getting... Yeah. Getting old. Getting old. And growing up. Yeah. I like both of those albums. So I just...

[00:20:38] You know. You find stuff. That'd be really be the problem. Everybody haven't listened to all the albums. Right. Yeah. Maybe I'm going to have to go back and listen to some more songs from Cowboy Carter. Do you listen... When you say an album, like, do you listen to it from start to finish? Or you be like, I haven't listened to it. Like, I'm sure you... You sound like you would be one that... You say you got the CD. You just put it on and listen to start to finish. Or maybe you're not.

[00:21:38] That's the... Trying to get back to where you were. You're just picking that needle back up and down trying to see where you're at. But, yeah. I even have Luke Combs on vinyl. Yeah. But that's... I think that's the thing. Most of the people are... Especially in the... That are talking about... Oh, Beyonce shouldn't have won. They ain't listen to the album. And they ain't listen to the other people hold album either.

[00:22:09] Yeah. I'm going to have to... I'm going to have to go back and listen to Cowboy Carter. Everybody got... Got two songs. Whoever's... Shibuzi. And was it... This ain't... Was the one with... The Texas Hold'em. They be comparing songs as opposed to albums. But you're looking at the whole body where... I try to listen to everybody. Like, if I find somebody I like, I'll just... I'll play a few of their songs on shuffle.

[00:22:40] And then, all right. Let me see. If I got enough of those songs off of the shuffle that I enjoy... Let me go through and listen to the whole... As you... As you put it together. I think that's... I came from... You know, you used to have... I don't know if they got them on... On everybody's now. I mean, some people still do... You know, the skits in the music. Right. Like, uh... Who was prominent? Like, Ludacris used to be real big about that. Where he always put some skits on his album.

[00:23:09] Hey, now that's a... That's a good collab. Collab. Carrie Underwood and Ludacris. Let me tell you something, man. On paper, it doesn't sound like a good collab. But it's a good collab. Are you crazy? I can hear... Ludacris coming in... He always... That's his... That's what he rapped. Ludacris. Because you would think that Carrie Underwood and Ludacris... Yeah, Ludacris would clash.

[00:23:38] But it's actually... Have you ever heard of their song together? It's called... I think The Champion. They got one together for real? Yeah, they do have one together. And it will make you want to punch a hole in the wall. Like, it makes you... It gets you pumped up. Let's see, Lud. And I think it can't... It's been out for a while. But yeah, they have a collab together. And it's... It's good. I'm...

[00:24:08] I'm gonna listen to it, yeah. I mean, that's the thing. Look, that's the... They've been making music special from the cross genre. So what would that song be considered? The Champion? I wouldn't consider it necessarily country. To me, that's more pop. It'd be... What makes it pop? Well, it just has more of like a poppy sound. Like it... There's not...

[00:24:38] There's not a whole lot of like country twang to it. Other than Carrie Underwood's voice. So... It's not rap? No, I wouldn't consider it rap. Is Ludacris not rapping on it? Well, yeah, he is rapping on it. But... Uh-huh. Only for... I think it's like two minutes of the... So... Or maybe even less than that. So... But I would consider it more of like a pop song. Than a rap song.

[00:25:08] Because the majority of it is Carrie Underwood. And then like with a little bit of Ludacris at the end. Oh, okay. It is. But it's still a good collab. And then I tell you another good collab. Nelly and Florida Georgia Line. I like them collabing together. My playlist about to be all wacky.

[00:25:36] What's that one that they did together? This is How We Roll. I think that's Nelly and Florida Georgia Line. But they have one to me that's better. A little bit? Yeah, that's it. I'm a... Because you know... You got... Oh, no. I'm a... I'm a music fanat. I love... I enjoy music from all genres. Like I listen to some classical music sometimes. I listen to jazz.

[00:26:06] Or... Country. Rap. Now it depends on who's... Trap music. It depends on who's... It depends on who's doing the jazz music. Like I'm not a big Michael Buble fan. Because it's too... It's too white. I don't like it. It's too white. Yes. What to do to him? There's not enough like...

That would probably be the first one to pop up is Take It All Back by Skillet and Torn Whales. Huh. Yeah. And that's kind of like a heavy metal gospel rap. Like it's a bunch of all these combined together.
