[00:00:02] What you want, when you want it, where you want it. This is The MESH.

[00:00:15] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Episode 106, Volume 5 of a special After Thanksgiving Leftover edition of Big Fan.

[00:00:25] My name is Chad East and I'm not a big fan of transporting Thanksgiving leftovers from one location to the next, to the next, to the next,

[00:00:34] and upon returning to Hickory, realizing you left them in your brother-in-law's basement refrigerator because you were eating cold mashed potatoes at 4 a.m.

[00:00:43] and didn't want to wake the rest of the family.

[00:00:46] Gross.

[00:00:47] Yes.

[00:00:48] Next, wearing short sleeves to a golf tournament on Sunday afternoon and then turn around and dressed in long underwear to work on Monday.

[00:00:54] And finally, leading Team Red to a 5-up lead in the 5th Annual Hickory Town Cup with 9 holes to play and then looking into each and every one of your teammates' eyes,

[00:01:06] including yours, looking in the mirror, which is me, and realizing three days of food, drink, and fun has finally caught up with us and we're destined to finish in last place.

[00:01:16] Yeah, it was a bad day.

[00:01:18] My name is Hank Imer and I'm a big fan of having to do zero cooking, zero prepping, or cleaning for Thanksgiving.

[00:01:26] What's it going to the club?

[00:01:27] Crisp, cool air to get you in that holiday spirit.

[00:01:31] And channeling my inner Chad and going to the movies midday.

[00:01:36] Oh, yes!

[00:01:37] Well, let's start there then, sir.

[00:01:39] Let's start there.

[00:01:40] So, this is our after Thanksgiving leftover for edition.

[00:01:44] We normally come to you prior to Thanksgiving.

[00:01:46] Thanksgiving, I was busy.

[00:01:47] I couldn't do it.

[00:01:48] So, we're doing it now afterwards.

[00:01:49] But it might be even more fun because we can talk about our adventures that we had during Thanksgiving.

[00:01:55] So, let's start with the movie, my friend.

[00:01:56] All right.

[00:01:57] Tell me the situation.

[00:01:58] So, we went Friday.

[00:01:59] It's a good movie day.

[00:02:01] Like mid-afternoon.

[00:02:05] And we went to the Carolina, which, let me tell you, that is just a gem of a place to have here.

[00:02:12] We were there, too.

[00:02:13] Okay?

[00:02:13] Yes.

[00:02:13] Nine tickets for $46 or something like that.

[00:02:17] It was amazing.

[00:02:18] Popcorn, I mean, relatively affordable.

[00:02:21] All of it.

[00:02:22] So, you can get to this.

[00:02:23] I know this for a fact because we were there Wednesday for another movie.

[00:02:27] But we'll talk about that after your movie.

[00:02:29] So, two extra large popcorn.

[00:02:32] Big, you know, the jumbo ones.

[00:02:33] The biggest ones.

[00:02:34] Come on, Chad.

[00:02:35] I know.

[00:02:35] Four drinks.

[00:02:37] Four drinks.

[00:02:39] Maybe a candy.

[00:02:40] I can't remember if there's a candy there.

[00:02:41] 20 bucks.

[00:02:42] Yeah, that's crazy.

[00:02:42] I mean, come on.

[00:02:43] That is ridiculous.

[00:02:44] It's crazy.

[00:02:45] What movie did you go see?

[00:02:47] Wicked.

[00:02:48] Okay.

[00:02:49] Yes.

[00:02:50] You know the one.

[00:02:50] Yeah.

[00:02:51] Was it you, Jen, two girls?

[00:02:53] Lucy Rose and Olivia.

[00:02:53] Yeah.

[00:02:54] Okay.

[00:02:54] That's good.

[00:02:55] We went to see Gladiator 2.

[00:02:56] So, I want to see it.

[00:02:58] Tell me a little bit about the movie and your experience for matinee.

[00:03:02] This might be your first matinee since you were probably eight years old, right?

[00:03:05] It's close.

[00:03:05] Yeah, it's close.

[00:03:05] It's close.

[00:03:05] So, tell me the experience.

[00:03:06] Okay.

[00:03:06] So, Carolina is amazing.

[00:03:07] I love being in there.

[00:03:09] But the big D and all that, it's a different experience.

[00:03:12] Of course.

[00:03:12] Right?

[00:03:13] This is just a big theater, big TV.

[00:03:16] So, it was my extended family.

[00:03:19] So, it's myself, Reagan Harris, my brother, Carson, Brenna, their kids, my father-in-law.

[00:03:26] And so, we took up like a whole row, right?

[00:03:29] Gladiator is one of my favorite movies.

[00:03:30] This is a great movie, right?

[00:03:31] This movie didn't disappoint either.

[00:03:33] I thought it was great.

[00:03:35] I thought they spent a lot of time.

[00:03:36] It was two hours and 45 minutes.

[00:03:37] I think Wicked was about the same.

[00:03:39] Exactly the same.

[00:03:39] It's a long movie.

[00:03:40] I think they took a long time making sure you understand who each character was and

[00:03:47] how they were in the fold.

[00:03:48] But still a really good movie.

[00:03:50] If you liked that movie before, you're going to like this one.

[00:03:52] Question for you.

[00:03:52] Have you seen the original Gladiator recently?

[00:03:55] Or were you going on your memory of what it was when you saw it back in the day?

[00:04:00] I've seen it recently.

[00:04:02] You've seen it?

[00:04:02] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:04:03] Because I watched part of it recently.

[00:04:04] Because I remember when it first came out, I was like, dude, this is a top tenner.

[00:04:07] I was like, this movie is so sick.

[00:04:09] And when I caught up with it maybe a couple months ago, it just a part, not the whole movie,

[00:04:14] I didn't think it kind of held up as much.

[00:04:16] But I came in at a weird part.

[00:04:17] You know, if I probably would have started from the get and kind of got through the whole thing again,

[00:04:20] it probably would have held up.

[00:04:22] But anyway, I'm glad to hear that this one is good.

[00:04:25] It's worth seeing.

[00:04:26] And from what I understand, Wicked has a special crowd.

[00:04:30] I mean, because it's musical.

[00:04:31] And I know you like musical.

[00:04:32] I do.

[00:04:32] I mean, I know you like it.

[00:04:33] But with it being long, musical, you can lose some people.

[00:04:39] Sure.

[00:04:39] So the majority of the, this is interesting, that we're in there, were young girls, like

[00:04:45] Lucy Rose's age or younger.

[00:04:47] Or younger.

[00:04:48] That were dancers or cheerleaders or participated in some type of acting.

[00:04:55] Yes.

[00:04:56] One girl who Lucy Rose danced with, it just came out, like let's say it was Tuesday at midnight

[00:05:01] and we saw it on a Wednesday or whatever the day was.

[00:05:03] She had already seen it three times.

[00:05:05] That's crazy.

[00:05:05] Three times, you know.

[00:05:07] So we rate things in our household based on four stars.

[00:05:12] So Livia, when we got out of there, said, how many broomsticks are you going to give it,

[00:05:16] Yeah.

[00:05:16] And so I came in with a solid three broomsticks.

[00:05:19] Three broomsticks.

[00:05:20] Lucy Rose, three and a half.

[00:05:22] Jennifer, four broomsticks.

[00:05:24] Four.

[00:05:24] Livia, two broomsticks.

[00:05:26] Okay.

[00:05:26] Two broomsticks.

[00:05:27] I trust Livia.

[00:05:28] I do trust Livia.

[00:05:28] Oh yeah, she's good with the, the ratings.

[00:05:31] The ratings.

[00:05:31] So, but anyway, it was very long.

[00:05:34] Yeah.

[00:05:35] And in the middle of the movie, Jennifer pops up out of the seat and says, I think I left

[00:05:40] a candle burning.

[00:05:41] Oh gosh.

[00:05:42] In the kitchen.

[00:05:43] And she's staring at me and she has this blank look at her face like she knows she left the

[00:05:47] candle burning.

[00:05:48] And so this is right, I mean, almost perfectly in the middle.

[00:05:52] So I was like, you know what?

[00:05:54] I'll go.

[00:05:55] Let it burn.

[00:05:58] I said, I'll go.

[00:06:00] And as soon as, so I was sitting beside Olivia, I'm on the end.

[00:06:03] Maybe Lucy Rose on the end.

[00:06:04] The way she tugs, I'm sure she was like, come back.

[00:06:07] Don't you leave me in here.

[00:06:09] Because she thought I was going to leave and not come back.

[00:06:11] And I was like, because that's what I was going to do to be honest.

[00:06:15] I wasn't going to come back.

[00:06:16] But when she tugged me, like, come back.

[00:06:18] I was like, okay, come back.

[00:06:19] So I talked to the fella who was emptying the trash and he's the owner.

[00:06:23] And I've had many a conversation with him because I would go see movies by myself sometimes,

[00:06:26] you know, as you know.

[00:06:27] And he's always there and we talk.

[00:06:30] And he said, I said, sir, I've got to leave.

[00:06:33] I explained the situation.

[00:06:34] He was like, no problem.

[00:06:35] And he was like, pretty.

[00:06:37] He's excited for the holiday season.

[00:06:39] He's got some big movies.

[00:06:41] He does have big movies.

[00:06:41] Wicked was, it was sold out in there.

[00:06:43] There wasn't an open seat in the whole place on a Wednesday.

[00:06:46] You know, I don't know how it was for Gladiator.

[00:06:48] Hopefully they had a big crowd, but it was during the day.

[00:06:50] Yeah, it wasn't a big crowd.

[00:06:51] It was, I mean, it was actually pretty thin, but you got to believe Friday people were traveling,

[00:06:56] finishing up their holidays, kicking people out of their house.

[00:06:59] You know, I'm sure they've had big crowds.

[00:07:01] Absolutely.

[00:07:02] So he was excited about the holiday season.

[00:07:03] So anyway, get to the house.

[00:07:05] I book it over there.

[00:07:05] All the candles extinguished.

[00:07:07] We're good.

[00:07:08] Get back, finish the rest of the movie.

[00:07:10] I come back to the scene that everybody's talking about.

[00:07:13] I don't know if you've heard about this.

[00:07:14] There's a song called Defying Gravity, and it's the big hit, you know, of the movie.

[00:07:22] And so now what I heard is it's so popular, they've had to put up a sign that says no singing

[00:07:28] in the theater because the kids and the adults, when the song comes on, they want to sing it

[00:07:34] loud, you know?

[00:07:35] And so it's overpowering the movie, so they're not allowing anybody to sing.

[00:07:38] I don't think I'd want somebody to sing while I was watching Harry.

[00:07:41] It's hard to watch them sing, not to sing.

[00:07:42] Yes, Ariana Grande sing.

[00:07:44] Exactly.

[00:07:44] Not to have your next-door neighbor behind you singing, you know?

[00:07:47] Unless it was me singing.

[00:07:49] You know, if it was me singing, then let it rip.

[00:07:51] Let it roll.

[00:07:52] Let it rip.

[00:07:52] Let it roll.

[00:07:53] But anyway, it was a really fantastic experience, and I'm glad you got the movie experience as well.

[00:07:58] Yes, sir.

[00:07:59] Anything else exciting?

[00:08:01] Pre-Thanksgiving?

[00:08:03] During Thanksgiving.

[00:08:04] Well, I mean, the Town Cup.

[00:08:05] We didn't talk about the Town Cup.

[00:08:06] There's so many things we can talk about.

[00:08:07] So, I mean, the Town Cup was the weekend before.

[00:08:11] It starts really on Friday, but the parade started on Friday.

[00:08:14] That's right.

[00:08:15] Which Cole Banker, two-time defending champ, going into this parade, there's a lot of pressure

[00:08:21] to three-peat, right?

[00:08:22] Of course.

[00:08:23] So we went out there, and we put our best foot forward.

[00:08:26] We were the Peanuts, Charlie Brown Christmas.

[00:08:28] I saw a picture of your float.

[00:08:30] It was amazing, wasn't it?

[00:08:31] Awesome.

[00:08:31] Yeah, the lady that does our design is amazing, and she did an incredible job.

[00:08:37] Just, you know, when somebody else won it, which, listen, I want it to be spread out.

[00:08:43] Let every...

[00:08:43] We want more participants for down because the...

[00:08:47] Hickory comes out.

[00:08:48] Yeah.

[00:08:48] It was like apparently 14,000, 15,000 people that come out to it.

[00:08:51] Huge crowd, right?

[00:08:52] And I want more people to win because I want more floats in there.

[00:08:55] But a lot of people told us a lot of good things about our float.

[00:08:58] And then I found out who one of the judges were.

[00:09:01] Hmm.

[00:09:02] And I found out that this gentleman probably wouldn't have voted for me if he were forced

[00:09:09] to.

[00:09:09] Gotcha.

[00:09:10] And it leaves kind of a red mark on it.

[00:09:14] Understood.

[00:09:14] So, you know, I'd like to learn more, investigate more of the process.

[00:09:17] I'm very happy for those who won it.

[00:09:19] Of course.

[00:09:20] They had a great float.

[00:09:21] It was an amazing float.

[00:09:22] But we had a lot of fun.

[00:09:23] And then after that, I went straight over to the party.

[00:09:26] Yes.

[00:09:26] Right?

[00:09:26] Found out who I was paired with at the pairing party, which you do an amazing, you guys do

[00:09:30] an amazing job.

[00:09:30] Thank you.

[00:09:31] I did not make it for your rap.

[00:09:32] I heard it was awesome.

[00:09:34] Pretty good rap.

[00:09:34] But I didn't hear it.

[00:09:35] So I just got there just right out.

[00:09:37] I walked in the door and somebody goes, were you here for Chad's rap?

[00:09:40] I said, no.

[00:09:41] Yeah.

[00:09:41] Thank God.

[00:09:43] Well, to tell our listening audience a little bit about the Town Cup pre-party, it's a

[00:09:47] Friday night stag night where we announce the members of the team, red, white, and blue,

[00:09:52] and the pairings who they will be matched up with in the Saturday morning pairings, along

[00:09:56] with 500 oysters, low country boil, two briskets, multiple gallons of bourbons from all over

[00:10:04] the place.

[00:10:05] And this year, a special edition, peach moonshine was added to the list.

[00:10:10] It was.

[00:10:11] Which was part of the reason I think on Sunday, our team ran out of gas and steam because of

[00:10:17] that Mr. Peach moonshine.

[00:10:19] Absolutely.

[00:10:20] So anyway, one thing I would like to share with the audience, red team has won three years.

[00:10:24] We've had it five years.

[00:10:25] We won three in a row.

[00:10:26] Last year, we lost to Team Blue.

[00:10:27] This year, we were up five points with just nine holes to play, thinking we were in the

[00:10:33] driver's seat.

[00:10:34] I really thought it was over until I looked at everybody on our team and I was like, there's

[00:10:39] no way we're winning this.

[00:10:40] Yeah.

[00:10:40] But I don't know if you remember this little, this encouragement that I try to give the

[00:10:46] team on Saturday.

[00:10:47] Inspirational speech.

[00:10:49] Let's just share with the audience.

[00:10:51] Let's take them there, Hank.

[00:10:52] This is Saturday morning.

[00:10:54] Before we tee off, captain of Team Red, Coach East, approaches the team.

[00:11:03] What we do in life echoes in eternity.

[00:11:08] Let the roars of our triumphs today echo through the green fields of the national.

[00:11:12] That's the name of our golf course.

[00:11:14] Let your hard work and belief in your teammates leave a lasting legacy for years to come.

[00:11:20] Gentlemen, let today start our eternity.

[00:11:25] And everybody, just like Gladiator.

[00:11:28] You know, did you feel like he's kind of like Gladiator?

[00:11:30] I wanted to sit down right when you started talking.

[00:11:32] I did.

[00:11:33] I did.

[00:11:33] I was like not in a good space.

[00:11:35] I was like ready to just sit down.

[00:11:37] That's all I wanted to do.

[00:11:39] Or get in the cart and sit down and let's go to the next hole.

[00:11:41] Yeah.

[00:11:42] Yes.

[00:11:42] Absolutely.

[00:11:42] It was rough.

[00:11:43] It was a rough part of the week.

[00:11:45] Yes.

[00:11:45] But a lot of fun.

[00:11:46] You know, but we had my in-laws and my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law in their family, which

[00:11:51] was a lot of fun.

[00:11:52] We had my brother and family.

[00:11:56] And we did go to the club because my kitchen is destroyed right now.

[00:12:00] And so we did that.

[00:12:02] And there's good pluses and minuses.

[00:12:05] Didn't have to cook.

[00:12:05] Didn't have to prep.

[00:12:06] Didn't have to clean.

[00:12:06] That's great.

[00:12:07] Right?

[00:12:08] No leftovers, which is tough.

[00:12:11] Yeah.

[00:12:11] And there's something about waking up, lounging around, helping cook, then getting back on

[00:12:17] the couch and like just wearing slippers.

[00:12:21] Just not leaving the house.

[00:12:23] Not leaving the house.

[00:12:24] Yeah.

[00:12:24] And there's something to that.

[00:12:25] And so next year we ain't leaving the house.

[00:12:27] Yeah.

[00:12:27] Understood.

[00:12:29] Before I get to my Thanksgiving adventure, and it was quite the adventure, we did something

[00:12:35] this Thanksgiving Eve that I haven't done in a couple of years.

[00:12:37] Last couple of years I missed it, but our producer Moose and his band put on this fabulous

[00:12:42] show.

[00:12:42] I told you about it.

[00:12:43] You might even go up there with me one time before.

[00:12:45] They're at the Barley Market.

[00:12:47] Yep.

[00:12:47] And there's a group.

[00:12:49] It's his guys and other people that sing locally here and they're all talented.

[00:12:53] And so they just put on a show.

[00:12:54] It's fabulous.

[00:12:55] So Charlie Henry, Brett, and I with Josh Eldon, all kinds of, a lot of other people were up

[00:13:01] there.

[00:13:01] And it was awesome.

[00:13:02] Got to hear everybody singing.

[00:13:03] So it was 1030.

[00:13:05] They were shutting her down at 11.

[00:13:06] We all wanted to get home at a decent hour because we had a big day on Thanksgiving Thursday.

[00:13:11] So we get in the car and leave.

[00:13:12] And we happened on our way home, which is near my house.

[00:13:15] There happens to be just a little old bar that's been sitting there for a long time that

[00:13:19] my dad used to go to back in the 70s and 80s.

[00:13:21] Oh, wow.

[00:13:22] And it's still there.

[00:13:24] Not too many people that we know go there anymore.

[00:13:27] But you know what?

[00:13:28] We saw it.

[00:13:28] The lights were on.

[00:13:29] And we were like, why don't we?

[00:13:31] Why don't we just pop in just for a nightcap?

[00:13:33] All right.

[00:13:33] You know?

[00:13:34] Not a car in the parking lot.

[00:13:35] So we were like, all right, let's pop in here.

[00:13:37] And then this place has pool tables and all kinds of fun stuff.

[00:13:40] So we go in there and ask the bartender if she minds if we shoot pool.

[00:13:45] And she was like, have at it.

[00:13:46] So I had the jukebox to myself.

[00:13:47] So I throw a couple of dollars in the jukebox.

[00:13:49] Boom, boom, boom.

[00:13:50] Just over near my house?

[00:13:51] Yes.

[00:13:51] Okay.

[00:13:52] Yes, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

[00:13:52] I know where I'm talking about.

[00:13:53] Everybody in Hickory knows exactly what I'm talking about.

[00:13:54] Yeah.

[00:13:55] So we're in there shooting pool.

[00:13:57] It's pretty fun.

[00:13:58] I asked, can we turn the music up?

[00:14:00] Nobody's in here.

[00:14:00] She was like, crank it up.

[00:14:01] So turns the jukebox up loud.

[00:14:03] Having a big old time.

[00:14:04] A couple people roll in.

[00:14:06] Something happened to be one of the dudes I knew from high school.

[00:14:08] I haven't seen him forever.

[00:14:09] So we're shooting the ball.

[00:14:10] It's just an odd night.

[00:14:12] And so shoot our last game of pool.

[00:14:14] No idea what time it is.

[00:14:15] We were supposed to be in there for one game, multiple games.

[00:14:18] Yeah, that's Chad timing right there.

[00:14:21] So we're getting ready to leave.

[00:14:22] And we're setting the beer or the bars build up.

[00:14:26] And all of a sudden we hear this.

[00:14:28] And this little chihuahua, I don't know where it's been hiding, just pours out from behind the bar.

[00:14:34] And the bartender comes and chases it because it's in attack mode.

[00:14:38] Sure.

[00:14:38] Coming after, I can't remember who it is.

[00:14:40] And everybody's got their pool sticks just ready in case this little chihuahua attacks them.

[00:14:44] And the lady behind the bar happens to only have one leg.

[00:14:48] And she's operating a drone inside the bar.

[00:14:52] And so a drunk, this is the end of the night.

[00:14:54] That's what I'm telling you.

[00:14:55] It's a very strange night.

[00:14:57] Chihuahua comes out.

[00:14:57] I got to get my head around that one more time.

[00:15:01] Picture this.

[00:15:01] A lady with one leg operating a drone chasing a chihuahua?

[00:15:04] Yes.

[00:15:05] Who is the bartender?

[00:15:06] And we're trying to pay the bill.

[00:15:07] And all this happens.

[00:15:08] Bang.

[00:15:08] And we're all looking at each other like, where are we?

[00:15:11] Did we just fall into a wormhole?

[00:15:13] Pushed into a wall.

[00:15:14] A different world.

[00:15:15] Are we in a different universe?

[00:15:17] And so the drone is flying over her head.

[00:15:20] She's yelling at the dog.

[00:15:21] Don't bite them.

[00:15:22] Don't bite them.

[00:15:23] As she maneuvers around with one leg.

[00:15:27] Now that's the end of a pre-Thanksgiving evening night.

[00:15:30] I got to tell you.

[00:15:31] There's no story topping that.

[00:15:32] So we got in the car.

[00:15:33] And we all just sat there in silence for a second like, did this really just happen?

[00:15:37] Unbelievable.

[00:15:38] Yeah.

[00:15:38] And so we were all kind of quiet.

[00:15:39] And so Charlie dropped me off.

[00:15:41] And he dropped Brett off.

[00:15:42] And we all texted the next day like, did this really happen?

[00:15:45] So anyway, that was a pretty odd night.

[00:15:47] But it was a lot of fun.

[00:15:48] Which rolls us right into Thanksgiving.

[00:15:50] Yep.

[00:15:51] So my mom and dad are redoing their whole kitchen.

[00:15:53] They had some hardwood floor issues at their new place.

[00:15:55] So we can't go there.

[00:15:57] So we decided to do the first Thanksgiving ever at my sister's in Charlotte.

[00:16:01] Gotcha.

[00:16:02] Because you usually do High Point too, right?

[00:16:04] Yes, always.

[00:16:04] Your parents and then High Point.

[00:16:05] Parents and then High Point.

[00:16:06] So we roll to Charlotte.

[00:16:07] My sister and her husband have got this just phenomenal setup.

[00:16:11] So he's got those Blackstone grills, right?

[00:16:15] So he's got two of them set up outside.

[00:16:16] They've made all this rice.

[00:16:18] I brought all types of seafood.

[00:16:20] They've got steaks and chickens and blah, blah, blah.

[00:16:21] There was enough rice.

[00:16:22] I am not allowed.

[00:16:23] I've never seen this much rice in my life.

[00:16:24] They were overprepared.

[00:16:25] You know how you do for Thanksgiving?

[00:16:26] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:16:27] And so just mounds of it.

[00:16:28] You're having like hibachi?

[00:16:29] Hibachi Thanksgiving.

[00:16:30] Hibachi Thanksgiving.

[00:16:31] Hibachi Thanksgiving.

[00:16:31] Hibachi Thanksgiving.

[00:16:32] Oh, wow.

[00:16:32] Phenomenal.

[00:16:33] So my mom made tons of sushi, brought crab legs, scallops, shrimp, steak, chicken, and

[00:16:37] he's got the zucchini.

[00:16:38] He's got his little Kobe hat on.

[00:16:40] He has a Kobe hat.

[00:16:40] He's got a Kobe hat.

[00:16:41] No, he doesn't.

[00:16:42] Chop it up.

[00:16:43] Jennifer went to Kobe and got two big things of the shrimp sauce.

[00:16:46] Shrimp sauce, sure.

[00:16:46] So we are loaded.

[00:16:49] And anyway, we eat.

[00:16:51] I wouldn't suggest that that would be the new tradition that we always do, but it's fun

[00:16:55] to throw in the mix maybe every five years, you know, something new.

[00:16:58] And one thing that we always do is we always play Thanksgiving Family Feud.

[00:17:03] Okay.

[00:17:03] And what I've done today, Hank, is I've prepared a couple of the Thanksgiving Family Feud questions

[00:17:08] and answers that I want you to go through them, kind of like Hank's hierarchy.

[00:17:13] Sure.

[00:17:13] All right.

[00:17:14] So here we go, Hank.

[00:17:14] This is a couple of the questions that we participated in during Thanksgiving.

[00:17:20] Let's do it.

[00:17:20] Hank, there's six answers.

[00:17:23] Six on the board.

[00:17:24] Six on the board.

[00:17:24] Yes.

[00:17:25] 100 people surveyed.

[00:17:27] Hank, name something you hope Grandpa does not do at the Thanksgiving table.

[00:17:33] Throw up.

[00:17:36] Let's see.

[00:17:37] Throw up, Alex.

[00:17:38] Bing, bing, bing, bing.

[00:17:39] Vomit.

[00:17:40] Number six.

[00:17:40] Well done.

[00:17:41] So there's five more that you can answer to.

[00:17:44] Drop out his teeth.

[00:17:46] Bing, bing, bing, bing.

[00:17:47] Number four.

[00:17:48] Take dentures out.

[00:17:49] Okay.

[00:17:49] Well done.

[00:17:50] Yes.

[00:17:50] So when I put, just to give you the, everybody got all of them except nobody said take dentures.

[00:17:56] Take dentures out except my dad who has dentures.

[00:17:58] And they would not listen to him.

[00:18:00] He was like, take dentures out.

[00:18:01] You know when you ask the rest of the team?

[00:18:02] Take dentures out.

[00:18:03] They ignored him.

[00:18:05] And then sure enough, that was the one.

[00:18:06] Wow.

[00:18:07] Yes.

[00:18:07] Hilarious.

[00:18:08] I was dying when it happened live.

[00:18:10] Okay.

[00:18:10] Go ahead.

[00:18:11] Name something you hope Grandpa doesn't do at Thanksgiving table.

[00:18:14] Break, wind, crap his pants.

[00:18:15] Break, wind, crap pants.

[00:18:16] Number one.

[00:18:17] Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

[00:18:18] Yes.

[00:18:18] You've got three of the six so far.

[00:18:20] Hey.

[00:18:20] Continue.

[00:18:21] Doing well.

[00:18:21] Okay.

[00:18:22] Doing really good.

[00:18:22] I got to think.

[00:18:22] Yes.

[00:18:23] Fall.

[00:18:24] Fall.

[00:18:25] Let's look for fall.

[00:18:26] That's a good one, but something close, but no, no fall.

[00:18:29] Get drunk.

[00:18:31] Well, you would think for sure it would be there, but eh.

[00:18:33] What?

[00:18:34] No, get drunk.

[00:18:35] No.

[00:18:35] So I want you to think you've got three.

[00:18:38] One should be a given.

[00:18:39] You know, what old men do at the Thanksgiving table?

[00:18:42] All sleep.

[00:18:43] You already said that one, but I'm saying like, you know, like Grandpa.

[00:18:48] Say something stupid.

[00:18:49] Argue.

[00:18:50] You would think that too, but eh.

[00:18:52] All right.

[00:18:52] So the one you missed was burp.

[00:18:55] Oh, yeah.

[00:18:56] Because they're going to burp.

[00:18:57] I would have thought that would have been with fart two.

[00:18:59] It was number two.

[00:19:00] Burp is number two.

[00:19:01] No, you said fall asleep, right?

[00:19:02] Yeah.

[00:19:03] Yes, you've got fall asleep.

[00:19:05] Number four, you've got take teeth out.

[00:19:07] Bingo.

[00:19:07] Number five, now this was a tough one, but die.

[00:19:11] You certainly wouldn't want that.

[00:19:13] Die at the Thanksgiving table, which that's terrible.

[00:19:16] So anyway, good job.

[00:19:17] You've got four of the six.

[00:19:19] Not too bad.

[00:19:20] Round two.

[00:19:22] Hank, 100 people surveyed.

[00:19:25] Name something that might ruin your Thanksgiving day.

[00:19:28] Five answers.

[00:19:31] Sickness.

[00:19:32] Let's go.

[00:19:34] Illness.

[00:19:34] Sickness.

[00:19:35] I'll give this to you.

[00:19:37] Vomiting because of overeating.

[00:19:38] I'll give that to you.

[00:19:39] Bing, bing, bing.

[00:19:40] Number five.

[00:19:41] Terrible company.

[00:19:43] Let's go.

[00:19:45] Terrible company.

[00:19:46] Family not getting along.

[00:19:47] Family fighting.

[00:19:48] Bing, bing, bing.

[00:19:48] Number two.

[00:19:49] Okay.

[00:19:50] So I've got one and two?

[00:19:51] No, you've got number two and you've got number four.

[00:19:53] Number two and number four.

[00:19:57] Crappy food.

[00:19:58] Bing, bing, bing.

[00:19:59] Number one.

[00:20:00] Burnt or crappy food.

[00:20:02] Yeah.

[00:20:02] You have two left.

[00:20:03] Zero X's.

[00:20:05] Fire.

[00:20:06] Fire.

[00:20:07] Which you would think would be there.

[00:20:09] It would be.

[00:20:09] You would make it crummy Thanksgiving.

[00:20:11] Turkey explodes in the oven, causes the house to catch on fire.

[00:20:15] Yes.

[00:20:15] But it is not there.

[00:20:16] Two more.

[00:20:17] This is hard.

[00:20:19] This is hard.

[00:20:20] Listen, I'm a man that learns as I go.

[00:20:23] Grandpa dies.

[00:20:26] A person dying at Thanksgiving table with face and stuffing.

[00:20:31] No.

[00:20:32] What?

[00:20:32] Not there.

[00:20:33] Not there.

[00:20:33] These two are very difficult, I would say.

[00:20:36] I mean, I wouldn't have guessed these two.

[00:20:37] You wouldn't have guessed these two.

[00:20:38] So I've got one more.

[00:20:39] Name something that might ruin your Thanksgiving day.

[00:20:42] You need number three and you need number five.

[00:20:44] And there are only five total.

[00:20:46] This is tough, Hank.

[00:20:49] Oh.

[00:20:50] The only thing.

[00:20:52] The only thing.

[00:20:53] Just think what might put a dreariness on it.

[00:20:55] My football team loses.

[00:20:57] You would think that.

[00:20:58] But you would think sporting team lose.

[00:21:01] That's what I would say.

[00:21:02] Number three.

[00:21:04] Bad weather.

[00:21:05] I could care less.

[00:21:06] I mean, you're inside anyway.

[00:21:07] Unless you're throwing a football or something.

[00:21:08] That's what I'm saying.

[00:21:09] Sometimes you like to be outside.

[00:21:10] And number five.

[00:21:12] This is kind of sad, but no one shows up.

[00:21:15] You're by yourself.

[00:21:16] Eat alone?

[00:21:16] Eat alone.

[00:21:17] Oh, wow.

[00:21:17] Oh, my God.

[00:21:17] How terrible was that?

[00:21:18] That would be a bad Thanksgiving day.

[00:21:21] That would be terrible.

[00:21:22] Could you imagine if you prepared for six and nobody showed?

[00:21:24] Exactly.

[00:21:24] And you're waiting and waiting.

[00:21:26] Now it's game two of the NFL.

[00:21:27] You're supposed to eat after game one.

[00:21:29] It's the end of game two.

[00:21:31] It's now dark outside.

[00:21:32] It's all sitting at the table.

[00:21:35] And there's just three empty bottles of wine and a thing of bourbon.

[00:21:38] And you'd be just drinking it because you're just so sad.

[00:21:41] It's sad.

[00:21:41] It's sad.

[00:21:42] I'm sorry I missed those.

[00:21:44] Yeah, very good.

[00:21:45] I also want to.

[00:21:45] So that's two Thanksgiving ones.

[00:21:46] And I want to give one, you know, just so we can get everybody in the Christmas mood.

[00:21:50] This is a Christmas family feud question, Hank.

[00:21:53] We have seven total answers.

[00:21:55] 100 people surveyed.

[00:21:56] Name a place you'd hate to be on Christmas Day.

[00:22:00] No.

[00:22:01] No, that's right.

[00:22:02] Name a place you would hate to be on Christmas Day.

[00:22:05] North Pole.

[00:22:05] Nobody's there.

[00:22:08] Right?

[00:22:08] Am I right?

[00:22:09] If you were Buddy the Elf, yes, but you're Hank Imer.

[00:22:11] So no, there's not a real North Pole with elves and stuff.

[00:22:14] So that is not correct.

[00:22:15] Name a place you'd hate to be on Christmas Day.

[00:22:17] Jail.

[00:22:18] Jail.

[00:22:18] Ding, ding, ding.

[00:22:19] Number one.

[00:22:20] Okay.

[00:22:20] Jail would be a good one.

[00:22:21] I feel like you're in-laws.

[00:22:24] In-laws.

[00:22:25] Ding, ding, ding.

[00:22:25] Number seven.

[00:22:26] Okay.

[00:22:26] Number seven.

[00:22:27] Yes.

[00:22:27] Okay.

[00:22:29] Speed round here.

[00:22:30] You're on a roll here.

[00:22:31] Jail.

[00:22:33] In traffic.

[00:22:34] Traffic, which I would think would be top five, but no traffic.

[00:22:38] What?

[00:22:38] Yes.

[00:22:39] That's two you're missing.

[00:22:40] That's ridiculous.

[00:22:41] Two you've missed.

[00:22:41] Think about what you would really.

[00:22:43] I mean, everybody's together at Christmas, but you have to.

[00:22:45] Hey, you want to be.

[00:22:46] You'd be at work.

[00:22:46] Work.

[00:22:47] Bing, bing, bing.

[00:22:48] Number two.

[00:22:48] It said work slash street corner.

[00:22:50] Whoa.

[00:22:50] What type of work are we talking about?

[00:22:52] Okay.

[00:22:52] So now you've got three of the seven with two strikes.

[00:22:56] I was thinking lonely bar by yourself.

[00:22:58] I can see the picture.

[00:23:00] Lonely bar.

[00:23:01] You're crying.

[00:23:02] The tear going into your vodka.

[00:23:06] The television's on, but nobody's watching it.

[00:23:08] Oh, yeah.

[00:23:09] Good try, though.

[00:23:11] What are these answers?

[00:23:12] Here are the others.

[00:23:12] Number three.

[00:23:13] An airport, which would make sense.

[00:23:15] Yeah, that would make sense.

[00:23:16] Number four.

[00:23:16] The hospital.

[00:23:17] Who wants to be in the hospital on Christmas?

[00:23:20] Number six was shopping or at a mall, or for me, CVS.

[00:23:24] CVS.

[00:23:24] Yeah, you learn CVS.

[00:23:25] The one that didn't make any sense was church.

[00:23:27] Where would you place you would hate to be on Christmas Day?

[00:23:31] It was number five.

[00:23:32] Church.

[00:23:33] Oh, wow.

[00:23:33] That's blasphemy.

[00:23:34] That is blasphemy.

[00:23:35] That's blasphemy.

[00:23:35] But anyway.

[00:23:36] Spend the day with God.

[00:23:37] Come on, guys.

[00:23:38] Let's go.

[00:23:38] Well, congratulations.

[00:23:39] You made it through the Thanksgiving and Christmas pre-edition of the Family Feud.

[00:23:43] Yes, very well done.

[00:23:44] I like Family Feud.

[00:23:45] See, it's fun.

[00:23:45] I got to tell you, Steve Harvey being the host.

[00:23:48] Hilarious.

[00:23:49] Genius.

[00:23:49] Absolutely.

[00:23:50] It's gold.

[00:23:51] You know, I think it's gold, too.

[00:23:52] Someone told me, though, in real life that he's a jerk.

[00:23:55] I just can't believe it because he's just sick.

[00:23:57] I mean, I guess I can believe anything with these actors and actresses.

[00:24:01] But he just said-

[00:24:02] They told you this.

[00:24:02] Addison Fox.

[00:24:03] Probably.

[00:24:04] Yes, probably.

[00:24:05] I heard it maybe, I don't know, on E! or something.

[00:24:08] But anyway, I'm going to believe that he's a good dude because he is hilarious, right?

[00:24:12] I go along with that.

[00:24:13] All right, Hank.

[00:24:14] Some other things that happened during our Thanksgiving, our break.

[00:24:18] So Hickory High School football continues to-

[00:24:21] Foo ball rolling.

[00:24:21] Continues to roll.

[00:24:22] Were you there for last weekend's game?

[00:24:26] Yes.

[00:24:27] And what were you thinking when they're down 13 and haven't stopped them yet?

[00:24:31] We played the team from Crest, I believe.

[00:24:33] Yep, from Shelby.

[00:24:34] From Shelby.

[00:24:35] And they are a fabulous team.

[00:24:36] Had a D1 quarterback who's only a junior.

[00:24:39] I think he's committed to Virginia.

[00:24:40] They had a couple stud running backs.

[00:24:42] They had a receiver that was fabulous.

[00:24:44] Their defensive-

[00:24:45] I think they have two defensive players that are going to play D1.

[00:24:48] I was streaming it and watching it.

[00:24:50] And it's the biggest crowd I've ever seen on television at Hickory High.

[00:24:52] I mean, it was awesome.

[00:24:53] Yeah, it was huge.

[00:24:54] But how were y'all feeling in the stands?

[00:24:56] Well, I think in reality, people thought that game started off with a quick touchdown.

[00:25:01] And then it went fumble on a run, fumble on a run, interception.

[00:25:06] That's not happened.

[00:25:07] Like, we've never done that before.

[00:25:09] And so I think everybody was saying, I can't get work.

[00:25:12] Like, we're not going to do that all game.

[00:25:13] And so we're going to come back.

[00:25:15] So everybody still felt positive.

[00:25:16] Positive, yeah.

[00:25:17] Everybody felt positive.

[00:25:18] And you know, I mean, you talked about the players that they have.

[00:25:21] We got some dudes.

[00:25:23] We got some real dudes.

[00:25:24] We got some dudes.

[00:25:24] And you know, I mean, you had, you know, Jamie and Little show exactly why Duke wants him.

[00:25:30] I mean, that guy's amazing.

[00:25:31] Amazing.

[00:25:33] And Brady Stober will win anywhere.

[00:25:37] Like, I love watching.

[00:25:38] He will run through a wall.

[00:25:39] I don't know.

[00:25:39] Somebody is going to, somebody at a big D1 school.

[00:25:42] Sanford's a big D1 school.

[00:25:43] Yeah.

[00:25:43] But I mean, like Power Five is going to say, I knew that kid was going to do that.

[00:25:49] Like, it's going to be good like that.

[00:25:50] Because that's the kind of kid he is.

[00:25:51] So, I mean, it's really cool to watch them play with each other.

[00:25:54] Then Lackey had an amazing game.

[00:25:56] Ellis Chappell just committed to wing it.

[00:25:58] Did he really?

[00:25:59] Yeah, he just committed to wing it.

[00:26:00] And so he had an amazing game.

[00:26:02] The kid that transferred from High Brighton, he scored two touchdowns.

[00:26:06] Defense played great.

[00:26:07] That second half, it showed you like, we were about it.

[00:26:11] Like, you know, 470 yards from Stober.

[00:26:13] What?

[00:26:14] Yes, amazing.

[00:26:15] What?

[00:26:16] Jamie had 250 or 225 yards receiving.

[00:26:19] Yeah, Ellis had a ton too.

[00:26:22] Yes.

[00:26:22] So, I mean, it looks like we're going, you know, we're playing North Lincoln, which we

[00:26:25] played before and we beat them.

[00:26:26] They do that, you know, that triple option or whatever.

[00:26:30] They're much better than they were when we played them the first time.

[00:26:33] We're better too.

[00:26:35] So, you know, you never, it's hard to be a good team, you know, twice.

[00:26:38] And sometimes you can get down, but that's the difference.

[00:26:41] I feel like in that coaching staff that we have is glass will make sure they're not down

[00:26:48] for this game.

[00:26:48] They're going to be up and they're going to be ready to take it on.

[00:26:50] So, it's going to be cold.

[00:26:52] Yes.

[00:26:53] And it's going to be a lot of people again.

[00:26:56] I will be streaming.

[00:26:57] It's too cold for me to go out there to watch football, but I will be streaming it, rooting

[00:27:01] them on, you know, not to get ahead of ourselves, but let's say we are fortunate enough to win,

[00:27:06] then we would play in the Western Conference Finals and the winner that goes to Carter,

[00:27:11] Finley, Raleigh to fight or to play for the state championship.

[00:27:14] Yeah.

[00:27:14] But one game at a time.

[00:27:15] One game at a time.

[00:27:16] One game at a time.

[00:27:17] The other game on the other side to get to that final is crazy.

[00:27:20] Dudley in West Charlotte is crazy.

[00:27:23] And, you know, regardless, if when we get through this game, if we're to play Dudley,

[00:27:30] they're going to come in ready to fight.

[00:27:31] We played them last year, didn't we?

[00:27:33] Yes.

[00:27:33] It had a real game.

[00:27:34] Yeah, it was a real game.

[00:27:35] But, you know, got to get through North Lincoln.

[00:27:37] That's right.

[00:27:37] So, let's take care of business first before we look to the future.

[00:27:41] Right.

[00:27:42] Maybe a little snippet of info about Hickory High School basketball.

[00:27:45] I know things are getting cranked up now.

[00:27:46] They are, but, you know, the tough thing for basketball is their depth is still on that

[00:27:51] football team.

[00:27:52] You know, I mean, Jamie, you know, who knows if he's going to play in basketball because,

[00:27:57] you know, even in the paper I quoted his mom saying like he was going to graduate in December

[00:28:02] and go to Duke in the spring.

[00:28:04] Oh, no kidding.

[00:28:05] So, you're probably not going to have him, which, you know, he's arguably one of the better

[00:28:08] players.

[00:28:09] He's fabulous.

[00:28:09] But then you have three or four guys on the football team that provide the depth.

[00:28:13] So, I think that the basketball teams actually push some of their games deeper so they're

[00:28:19] allowed to get those guys back because they need them.

[00:28:21] Because, you know, unlike last year, there's not a lot of height on this team.

[00:28:24] I think, you know, a bulk of the guys are 6'2 to 6'4.

[00:28:27] I mean, they're all the same size.

[00:28:29] So, you know, Professor Willis is going to make sure he's got a game plan for that.

[00:28:34] And it's just going to be a different kind of basketball, which will be fun to watch.

[00:28:38] Oh, yeah.

[00:28:38] So, you know, they'll kick it up pretty soon.

[00:28:40] Yeah, well, good.

[00:28:40] Well, anxious to see them play.

[00:28:43] And then moving on into the festivities this weekend.

[00:28:46] So, Hickory, you know, between Thanksgiving prior, Town Cup and all that stuff, all the

[00:28:52] way through Christmas, there is something fun and fantastic every weekend.

[00:28:56] This weekend happens to be the world-famous Chili Catillion.

[00:29:00] Yes, sir.

[00:29:00] It goes down this Saturday.

[00:29:02] On Friday, we have the Hickory High School game and a fabulous bluegrass band.

[00:29:06] They say top three in the nation is coming to Hickory to play at the premiere.

[00:29:10] Andy Roney's family, Birdsong, sponsors it and promotes it.

[00:29:14] So they're coming Friday night as well.

[00:29:16] I mean, big time.

[00:29:17] Lots.

[00:29:18] Lots of stuff happening.

[00:29:20] And anyway, multiple other Christmas parades going on.

[00:29:23] I know Lincolnton had one last weekend.

[00:29:25] I think there's one in Taylorsville this weekend or something.

[00:29:27] So all kinds of things to get you right into the Christmas spirit, Hank.

[00:29:30] Hank, you'll be attending the football game and the Chili Catillion.

[00:29:34] And I know it's an exciting time for you.

[00:29:37] You know, I think your wife might be going to New York City.

[00:29:41] She is.

[00:29:42] She left today.

[00:29:43] Wow.

[00:29:43] So what is she going to do up there?

[00:29:45] So my sister-in-law has two little girls.

[00:29:48] Yes.

[00:29:48] Right.

[00:29:48] Well, 15 and 11, I think.

[00:29:52] And they wanted to go there, see Christmas in New York, do the Rockettes, stuff like that.

[00:29:57] And so on Friday after Thanksgiving, so last Friday, Brenna goes, why don't you go with us?

[00:30:05] Yeah.

[00:30:06] So Reagan was like, yeah, let's do it.

[00:30:08] Right.

[00:30:08] So they are flying out of Atlanta.

[00:30:11] Reagan drove to Atlanta today, staying the night with them.

[00:30:13] They're going to fly out for a couple of days, come back on Sunday, which is great for her.

[00:30:18] I'm excited for her.

[00:30:19] You know, Chili Catillion, sometimes she always loves it.

[00:30:23] Yeah.

[00:30:23] But sometimes it's cold.

[00:30:24] Oh, yes.

[00:30:25] And rainy.

[00:30:25] Yes.

[00:30:26] And stuff like that.

[00:30:26] And that doesn't always what she loves.

[00:30:28] So this, you know, it's going to be cold out there.

[00:30:31] But also, Harris and I got kind of a boys weekend.

[00:30:35] Right.

[00:30:35] Right?

[00:30:36] And so we're going to do, we're going to hit tonight.

[00:30:39] And tomorrow, I don't know what we're going to, my sister's coming in town.

[00:30:42] Oh, fun.

[00:30:42] So we'll see her tomorrow.

[00:30:44] Will she be here for the weekend too?

[00:30:45] She's here for the weekend.

[00:30:46] But over the weekend, she's taking my niece to Elon to move in because my niece has been

[00:30:50] in Australia all semester.

[00:30:52] Wow.

[00:30:52] And so they're kind of moving her in for after Christmas.

[00:30:55] And then Chili Catillion, we'll be streaming the football game because we got to make the

[00:30:59] chili on Friday night.

[00:31:00] So we go to somebody's house and we build these big chili cauldrons.

[00:31:07] Right.

[00:31:07] And we have those ready to go for Saturday, which is a lot of fun.

[00:31:10] We have a ton of fun and make sure we roll into Saturday a little better.

[00:31:17] Sure.

[00:31:17] Understood.

[00:31:18] Well, that sounds like a fabulous time.

[00:31:19] You mentioned Carson.

[00:31:22] Yes.

[00:31:22] Your brother-in-law.

[00:31:23] He's an idiot.

[00:31:24] And my brother-in-law, Todd, who's also an idiot.

[00:31:28] So I only get to see Todd a couple of times a year.

[00:31:30] Thanksgiving happens to be one of them.

[00:31:32] You get to see Carson a little bit more often.

[00:31:33] Yeah, we see each other often.

[00:31:34] Same kind of stuff.

[00:31:35] And I mentioned to you in our last conversation, my brother-in-law, Todd, and he's doing great

[00:31:39] now, but he had a little bit of a scare about six months ago.

[00:31:42] And to our listening audience who listens to the big fan often, Todd is my guy who when

[00:31:48] we're together, because we don't get to see each other often, whether it be at the beach

[00:31:51] or the mountains or his house or when he comes to Hickory, he's a night owl like me.

[00:31:56] Like there'll been many a time that we've been together and don't realize it's the sun

[00:32:01] is up and we're still like listening to music or talking about the Orioles or the, you know,

[00:32:07] the Broncos, whatever, some sports related thing or talking about our family or whatever,

[00:32:11] you know.

[00:32:11] And so I didn't really know what to expect this Thanksgiving with him, you know, getting

[00:32:18] better.

[00:32:18] You know, he's lost 40 pounds, changed his lifestyle up a little bit.

[00:32:23] Not that he was had a crazy lifestyle before, but he's just trying to take it cleaner.

[00:32:26] He's trying to take a little bit better care of himself.

[00:32:28] Yeah.

[00:32:29] So all of us should do that.

[00:32:31] Absolutely.

[00:32:31] I'm looking at one.

[00:32:35] So we get, we leave to, we have four events on Thanksgiving.

[00:32:39] So the last, after the last event, I think it was about 9, 30 or 10, Todd was like, you

[00:32:44] ready?

[00:32:44] And I was like, yeah, let's go.

[00:32:46] It's time to burrow.

[00:32:46] It's time to, let's take everybody home in the car.

[00:32:49] Let's get everybody settled and let's take our space in the basement.

[00:32:52] I always on the seat on the left.

[00:32:54] He's on the seat on the right.

[00:32:56] We've got one in the middle between us.

[00:32:58] We've got our phones charging, you know, because you never know when there's a 1230.

[00:33:02] It's Alabama-Burbingham versus UTEP basketball game.

[00:33:05] Highlight game.

[00:33:06] Or a highlight game or, you know, some type of cricket.

[00:33:09] Indian cricket.

[00:33:09] Cricket pops off at two o'clock in the morning.

[00:33:11] So anyway, we're watching all the basketball games.

[00:33:14] Everything's over now.

[00:33:14] It's probably about 2.30.

[00:33:16] And I am wide awake.

[00:33:18] And I look at Todd, and I'm not pushing it because, you know, I don't want to mess with,

[00:33:21] if he needs to go to sleep early, let's get to sleep early.

[00:33:24] Because I can go to bed, but I'm feeling wide awake.

[00:33:26] So I look over and I was like, Todd, how you feeling?

[00:33:29] And he was like, I'm feeling like this.

[00:33:31] Click.

[00:33:31] So he flips it over to top five unplugs of all time.

[00:33:36] So you got Nirvana, and then you had Live, and then you had Soundgarden.

[00:33:40] Anyway, he was like, I think we can get through all five.

[00:33:43] I was like, Todd, it's 2.30 in the morning.

[00:33:46] Let's shoot for two.

[00:33:47] All right?

[00:33:48] So we make it through Nirvana.

[00:33:50] I think the next one, I can't remember who it was.

[00:33:52] It might have been like maybe Soundgarden or it might have been Pearl Jam.

[00:33:55] And through Nirvana, we're plowing right through wide awake still.

[00:33:59] So now it's about 3.45.

[00:34:01] So I was like, yeah, go ahead and start the other one.

[00:34:03] I was like, I can't guarantee that I'll make it.

[00:34:05] He was like, I understand.

[00:34:06] And so I remember hearing, Jeremy's spoken.

[00:34:10] And the next thing I know, I'm looking up.

[00:34:12] I'm looking around, and I look at my phone, and it's 11.45 the next morning.

[00:34:17] And so we must have been, he's sitting there right beside me and said, we must have sleep.

[00:34:21] Oh, dead asleep.

[00:34:22] So we must have fallen asleep during Pearl Jam.

[00:34:24] And our families were gracious enough just to let us lay down there.

[00:34:28] I had the mashed potatoes.

[00:34:30] On your lap still?

[00:34:31] My lap mashed potatoes in there.

[00:34:33] I thought for sure you were going to say you were waking up to Jennifer being like, Chad,

[00:34:38] Chad.

[00:34:38] They let us be.

[00:34:39] It was pretty awesome.

[00:34:41] And so, yeah, we jumped in the shower, gathered our stuff.

[00:34:45] We left.

[00:34:45] I got Todd up.

[00:34:46] Make sure he came up.

[00:34:47] We fed him a couple cinnamon buns.

[00:34:49] And then we rolled a hickory.

[00:34:51] I was back in hickory picking Koa up from the kennel at 1.30, 2 o'clock.

[00:34:55] Look at you.

[00:34:56] Family man.

[00:34:57] Look at this guy.

[00:34:58] Look at this guy.

[00:34:58] He's all grown up.

[00:34:59] Oh, my God.

[00:35:00] I love it how the whole premise of the story is how you guys have matured and got healthier

[00:35:06] and making better decisions.

[00:35:09] And you went the opposite way.

[00:35:11] Well, you know, it's one time a year, me and him.

[00:35:14] So he said he was ready to push it through.

[00:35:16] So I was going to be his wingman.

[00:35:18] We're going to push it on through, right?

[00:35:19] I get it.

[00:35:19] You understand?

[00:35:20] You and Carson have done that many, many times.

[00:35:22] Yeah.

[00:35:22] Anyway, that is the wrap-up of our After Thanksgiving leftover podcast.

[00:35:27] It was a good one.

[00:35:28] It was.

[00:35:28] This was a good podcast because we got some feedback from the last podcast that they said

[00:35:32] it was boring.

[00:35:34] Yeah, that was one person.

[00:35:35] Yeah, because my buddies were telling me they loved the last podcast that we mentioned

[00:35:39] the Anthony Hamilton.

[00:35:40] My friend Toomas was sitting beside them.

[00:35:42] Now they remember Anthony Hamilton.

[00:35:44] I told you the story.

[00:35:44] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:35:45] They hung out like last week, too.

[00:35:47] That's amazing.

[00:35:47] Isn't that crazy?

[00:35:48] And I think the other thing is the person that said it was boring.

[00:35:51] He got mentioned today.

[00:35:52] So let's see what he thinks about this one.

[00:35:54] He'll think it's the best one ever.

[00:35:55] It's the best one ever.

[00:35:55] It's the best podcast.

[00:35:56] Yes.

[00:35:57] So anyway.

[00:35:57] All right, my friend.

[00:35:58] It was good seeing you again.

[00:35:59] Good luck this weekend.

[00:36:00] Same to you.

[00:36:01] Hopefully.

[00:36:01] I know I'll run into you.

[00:36:02] Maybe.

[00:36:03] Who knows?

[00:36:04] Multiple times.

[00:36:05] Multiple times.

[00:36:05] Absolutely.

[00:36:06] Multiple times.

[00:36:07] You never know.

[00:36:07] Maybe we'll be eating mashed potatoes at 2.30 in the morning.

[00:36:10] Who knows?

[00:36:10] Who knows?

[00:36:11] It could happen.

[00:36:12] Maybe we'll get to hear that four and five of the best unplugged.

[00:36:16] Yes, unplugged.

[00:36:17] You never know.

[00:36:18] You never know.

[00:36:18] Anyway.

[00:36:19] All right.

[00:36:19] To our listening audience, thank you for tuning in.

[00:36:22] Thank you to Hickory North Carolina for being Hickory North Carolina.

[00:36:25] Good luck to the Hickory High School Red Tornadoes.

[00:36:27] Let's get it done.

[00:36:28] And we'll check you guys out in two weeks.

[00:36:30] Peace.
