[00:00:02] What you want, when you want it, where you want it.

[00:00:06] This is The MESH.

[00:00:11] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to episode 97, volume 6 of a somber big fan.

[00:00:20] I am Chad East. My man to the right of me is Hank Imer.

[00:00:23] And Hank, our town, our wonderful state, our brothers and sisters in Western North Carolina,

[00:00:30] they are struggling today as we kind of put the pieces together after Hurricane Helene.

[00:00:38] Anyway, this podcast is always positive and we try to keep things funny and light.

[00:00:43] Today, come to you in a little bit different light.

[00:00:46] We're going to try to get there with the energy, but let's start by just talking about, I'm sad.

[00:00:52] You know, I'm hurt. I feel terrible for the lovely towns in our North Carolina mountains.

[00:00:59] And shoot, the other states too. It's just not North Carolina that's affected.

[00:01:02] It's many, many states, but I mean, this is hitting very, very close to home.

[00:01:05] Sure.

[00:01:05] So let's talk about it.

[00:01:06] Yeah. Well, I think, you know, the biggest thing is how surprised we were by the storm.

[00:01:12] I mean, I think there was, you know, there's certainly talk, heavy winds, a lot of rain,

[00:01:16] you know, maybe trees, some power, but we weren't expecting what happened.

[00:01:21] And really and truly, we can't complain where we're at because I think, you know,

[00:01:25] we all know if what happened in Western North Carolina wouldn't have happened,

[00:01:30] there would have been people in our town that would have been very upset with being without power for five to eight days.

[00:01:35] Lost the internet.

[00:01:36] Lost the internet.

[00:01:37] Yeah.

[00:01:37] But, you know, I haven't heard anybody complain because they understand.

[00:01:41] Yes.

[00:01:42] That this is a very minor inconvenience compared to what is going on west of us.

[00:01:47] Absolutely.

[00:01:47] And like you said, these small towns and these, you know, I think that it's just, you know, tough to hear the stories,

[00:01:55] see the pictures of people's lives destroyed, you know, and that's not even counting loss of life.

[00:02:04] That's businesses and houses and memories, which can all be replaced.

[00:02:09] Lives can.

[00:02:10] And I think that it's pretty somber, you know, because there's part of this great state that will never be the same.

[00:02:22] Sure.

[00:02:22] And I think that people are having to make tough decisions like, you know, businesses, will they open like ski resorts and stuff like that?

[00:02:30] That, you know, their income is, you know, in that area's income is very, but that's not what they're worried about right now.

[00:02:35] They're worried about finding loved ones and making sure that they have enough food and water and all those things.

[00:02:39] So it's certainly been eye-opening last week, and I think the rest of the country is now starting to get an idea of the severity of it.

[00:02:52] And this is where you're starting.

[00:02:53] I've started, I'm sure you have, of getting phone calls from friends outside of North Carolina that are saying, what in the world is going on?

[00:03:02] Isn't that wild too?

[00:03:03] Like, it did seem, I'm not a big news watcher, but no one realized what was happening or what happened, you know?

[00:03:12] Right.

[00:03:12] They might have, it was like a minute clip or a minute and a half interview, and then they go on to something else.

[00:03:18] I mean, we're talking about catastrophic stuff.

[00:03:21] Yeah.

[00:03:21] Now, the public and the world is seeing, once they see some of these death totals and the pictures of the destruction, they're like, oh my gosh, this is like Katrina level stuff.

[00:03:33] And so, just like you mentioned, my friends that live in other places, like, what's going on there?

[00:03:39] Same kind of thing.

[00:03:39] It's like a week later, almost a week later.

[00:03:43] Yeah.

[00:03:43] Isn't that wild?

[00:03:43] It's wild.

[00:03:45] It's wild.

[00:03:45] I mean, and you know, I mean, I think that that's kind of the big thing now is because a lot of people are helpers.

[00:03:53] Yes.

[00:03:53] And a lot of people are fixers, and they want to come in and fix.

[00:03:57] And it's been, Western North Carolina has been destroyed.

[00:04:00] And they need help with power and food and getting access and communicating.

[00:04:06] And that's what everybody wants to do.

[00:04:08] And sometimes, that's at the detriment of the general public because they go up there, they need to be rescued.

[00:04:15] Or they go in there, and then they make an issue, or they get stuck.

[00:04:20] They might think they're doing a very, very good thing.

[00:04:22] Right.

[00:04:23] But in the end, it might not be the best.

[00:04:25] But their hearts are in the right place.

[00:04:26] Absolutely.

[00:04:26] You know what I mean?

[00:04:27] And we see it from all our friends.

[00:04:29] I mean, there's a million text chains.

[00:04:31] All right, I'm going to be here, load up the truck, or go here.

[00:04:35] They're going to helicopter the stuff in, which is just fabulous.

[00:04:38] Awesome.

[00:04:38] The way the communities are rallying, it is pretty incredible.

[00:04:43] You know, it's really hard to smile these days.

[00:04:49] You know, I was talking to my daughter.

[00:04:50] Like, everything just seems a little gloomy and down.

[00:04:55] And I mean, as well as should.

[00:04:56] I mean, what's going on?

[00:04:57] But just to know that the human spirit is still with us.

[00:05:01] Right.

[00:05:01] People are wanting to do the right things to help their brothers and sisters.

[00:05:04] Yeah.

[00:05:04] And you know, I mean, this is where it's, you know, there's going to be donations that

[00:05:09] people are sending up, I mean, like monetary donations and food and water and gas and all

[00:05:15] that stuff.

[00:05:16] But also to really, and this is months down the road, you know, we're going to have to

[00:05:23] travel there, eat in restaurants.

[00:05:25] Right.

[00:05:26] You know, like show the support as you're putting feet back in Asheville and the small towns.

[00:05:31] And we always say Asheville and Boone, and it's way more than those.

[00:05:35] It's Burnsville and, you know, all those small towns around there.

[00:05:39] So, I mean, it's going to be really important, really crazy to watch because, you know, like

[00:05:44] I-40, you know, it'll be another year and a half before they get that thing opened up.

[00:05:49] Right.

[00:05:49] And, you know, that's the main thoroughfare.

[00:05:51] Right.

[00:05:51] That's how we get to Tennessee.

[00:05:53] Yeah.

[00:05:53] And so I think that it's going to be really amazing to watch how it really is different.

[00:06:00] And if you can, you can tell too, and I don't know, and I heard this was going to happen.

[00:06:04] You can feel a lot more people in Hickory and they're not, you know, it's not from people

[00:06:08] coming down from that.

[00:06:09] It's coming, it's, it's people coming to help and it's, you know, it's like National

[00:06:12] Guard and FEMA and all those people, they're going to start flooding Hickory because it's

[00:06:16] right at the foothills of what's going on.

[00:06:18] And so it's going to be interesting to see how our town kind of grows in population over

[00:06:22] the next week or so.

[00:06:24] Probably longer than that.

[00:06:25] Yeah.

[00:06:26] Yeah.

[00:06:26] Months.

[00:06:27] Yeah.

[00:06:27] One interesting thing, and I'll try to put it in perspective because this never happened

[00:06:30] to me in my life, but, you know, I live kind of near the airport as do you and I sit out

[00:06:35] on my deck and you can see planes come in or whatever.

[00:06:38] So over the last week, this is no bull.

[00:06:42] We counted like 70 aircraft, helicopters.

[00:06:45] Yeah.

[00:06:45] Just, you can hear them all hours of the day and night.

[00:06:50] Planes.

[00:06:51] We saw three or four, we were playing tennis, just hitting tennis, getting some exercise,

[00:06:56] getting out there, getting things off our mind, just passing by, taking supplies and help to

[00:07:02] the mountains.

[00:07:03] So I kind of felt it was almost like a war zone.

[00:07:07] That's what I was, you know what I mean?

[00:07:08] To hearing those choppers.

[00:07:09] Yeah.

[00:07:09] Every minute, like, it's just so eerie.

[00:07:11] Yeah.

[00:07:12] Feels like Red Dawn kind of.

[00:07:13] Exactly like Red Dawn.

[00:07:15] Yeah.

[00:07:15] Exactly.

[00:07:16] Yeah.

[00:07:16] And I'm sure we're going to have more because, you know, if, when, you know, when we start

[00:07:20] getting national help or, you know, help from the government where I'm sure that those helicopters

[00:07:25] and those, you know, that the feet on the ground are going to feel a little bit more like it's,

[00:07:31] you know, it's a real operation.

[00:07:33] Operation.

[00:07:34] It should be.

[00:07:34] I mean, there are people still up there without anything within completely cut off and can't

[00:07:40] call and tell people that they're out there.

[00:07:41] And I mean, it's, it's very easy to sit down here and be without power, you know, compared

[00:07:47] to what's going on in there.

[00:07:48] And, you know, it's, it's going to be, people are resilient, I feel like.

[00:07:53] And I feel like, you know, there's going to be hopefully, you know, two years from now,

[00:07:59] three years from now, the Asheville, the citizens of Asheville and the city, citizens

[00:08:05] of these small towns will dig out of it.

[00:08:07] And, you know, they'll have that same prideful experience in their, in their towns and cities.

[00:08:14] And, you know, they'll, they'll kind of start over.

[00:08:17] Red Dawn one or two?

[00:08:19] One, bud.

[00:08:20] Not even close, right?

[00:08:21] Come on.

[00:08:22] No, have you even watched Red Dawn two or whatever?

[00:08:25] I've never seen two.

[00:08:26] I've never seen two.

[00:08:26] I've never watched it.

[00:08:26] I've never watched it.

[00:08:27] It's terrible.

[00:08:28] How many Cobra chapters do you get?

[00:08:31] Oh, we'll give that a half a Cobra chapter.

[00:08:34] Yeah, yeah.

[00:08:34] Half a Cobra chapter.

[00:08:35] Somebody said, and I wish I could do the quote justice, but they was talking about like,

[00:08:41] put an obstacle in front of me and I can, you know, it's not most people will look at it.

[00:08:47] What are we going to do where other people will look at it?

[00:08:50] Well, this is the time that we do do, you know, like we shine.

[00:08:53] I bet you that is a lovely quote.

[00:08:55] Oh, it's so good.

[00:08:57] I just completely butchered it, but you get the gist, you know, it just feels like everybody's

[00:09:01] saying, yes, well, this will, this will be our shining time.

[00:09:04] This won't be looked down upon and it's going to be a negative part.

[00:09:08] This will be our time to shine as North Carolinians and mountain folk.

[00:09:14] We're going to rise together and we'll get through it.

[00:09:17] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:09:17] Yeah, so I'll stay on this one more thing.

[00:09:19] So this really breaks my heart, but like Chimney Rock and Banner Elk, right?

[00:09:24] Two of my, I love these places.

[00:09:26] So when I first started working at the Deluxe Printing Company, my one of my first accounts

[00:09:31] was the Chimney Rock, the, what is the, you know, the park itself.

[00:09:37] The park itself, the park itself.

[00:09:37] You have the brochure and it shows the rock and the flag up there.

[00:09:40] Yeah.

[00:09:41] And you know, you see it, when you see it for the first time, you take pride, like this is

[00:09:44] my country.

[00:09:45] Yeah.

[00:09:45] This is beautiful up here.

[00:09:46] And my state.

[00:09:46] This is my state.

[00:09:47] I'm so proud of this place.

[00:09:48] It was my first client.

[00:09:50] I printed this brochure for them.

[00:09:51] So every year they'd reprint it.

[00:09:53] And one of the things I would look forward to is driving up there.

[00:09:56] And at the time that we would print it, it wasn't really a touristy time.

[00:10:00] It's like when not too many people went.

[00:10:02] So I'd be like the only person there and they show me around and it was just so cool.

[00:10:06] So I take my girls there last year and say, Hey, this is like my first client.

[00:10:11] And we went up and there was a lot of tourists and they had built those cool little bars that

[00:10:16] were right there, that coffee shop.

[00:10:17] There's that little bridge.

[00:10:19] I mean, just beautiful.

[00:10:21] Yeah.

[00:10:22] And now it doesn't exist.

[00:10:23] It's gone.

[00:10:25] Same thing with kind of banner elk.

[00:10:27] Those little, that little village, the little restaurants right there, Sorrento's, that Stonewall's

[00:10:32] restaurant, the little woolly worm festival, all that stuff that was right there.

[00:10:36] Oh yeah.

[00:10:37] It is gone.

[00:10:38] That part breaks my heart, but I know we're going to rebuild it and it's going to come

[00:10:44] back and it's going to be just as strong and just as beautiful.

[00:10:47] And we'll have many more memories there, but that's the part that really,

[00:10:51] touches my heart along with the people, of course, that starting over.

[00:10:56] Yeah.

[00:10:56] I mean, it's, you know, the pictures that you see side by side that people are showing

[00:11:00] and they're, you know, I mean, it's stark differences.

[00:11:04] And, you know, I saw a picture of Lake Toxaway today, I believe, yeah, this Lake Toxaway and

[00:11:09] there's so much debris in there that you couldn't see any water.

[00:11:13] It looked like just downed trees, just downed trees.

[00:11:17] And, you know, there's, those lakes are gone.

[00:11:18] Yeah.

[00:11:19] You know, I mean, to get that out of there is, I mean, they're gone.

[00:11:22] So, I mean, it's, it's going to be, it's going to change the landscape, but I mean, still,

[00:11:26] you know, like I said, that the, the rebuilding is got to, is going to start now.

[00:11:31] And, you know, I just hope that, you know, the, the stories that come out of this and,

[00:11:36] and are going to be resilient, you know, people being resilient in these communities,

[00:11:40] but it's a tough, it's a tough, tough, you know, it's going to be tough, tough for a

[00:11:45] long time because there's a lot of, you know, the, the bad thing, there's a lot of law,

[00:11:48] law lost in lives in this.

[00:11:51] And so that's going to be.

[00:11:52] We haven't really even scratched the surface of that yet.

[00:11:55] I mean, I'm not really looking forward to hearing those numbers, but if they're going

[00:11:59] to be upon us here shortly.

[00:12:01] The other thing I thought about, and I talked to Lucy Rose, this is right when they had her

[00:12:05] school called off, which a couple of days in Hickory and now it's two hour delay.

[00:12:08] Hey, we're, that's, thank God, you know, I feel blessed that that's all.

[00:12:13] We still have a school.

[00:12:13] We still have a school, right.

[00:12:14] Think about these kids.

[00:12:16] And I was looking at her right in, right in her eyes.

[00:12:18] I was like, y'all have had it the last five years for y'all kids.

[00:12:22] I mean, this has sucked.

[00:12:24] Yeah.

[00:12:24] So the kids go through COVID, miss a couple of years of school or a year or whatever.

[00:12:30] Think about the kids that now they're like my, my niece, freshman at app.

[00:12:35] Yeah.

[00:12:36] Now she has to, she's going through this.

[00:12:38] Now she has to come back home from school.

[00:12:40] Yeah.

[00:12:40] Miss another, however many long.

[00:12:42] UNC Asheville kids.

[00:12:44] May not go the rest of the semester.

[00:12:45] They might not even, yeah, who knows when they'll go back.

[00:12:47] So these young people, man, they have been through some stuff in their short lives, but

[00:12:53] it will make them stronger.

[00:12:54] And I mean, they'll probably think, you know, man, if I can get through that stuff, come

[00:13:00] on world.

[00:13:00] Yeah.

[00:13:01] I'll get through anything.

[00:13:01] If I can make it, I've already made it through this.

[00:13:03] Right.

[00:13:04] Bring it on.

[00:13:04] Yeah.

[00:13:05] You know?

[00:13:05] So anyway, I, my hat's off towards them and you know, just keep fighting.

[00:13:11] They'll get through it.

[00:13:12] Yeah.

[00:13:12] So you want to hear about another really terrible story?

[00:13:18] Sure.

[00:13:20] I had my colonoscopy last week.

[00:13:21] Oh.

[00:13:23] Yeah.

[00:13:24] So.

[00:13:24] Oh.

[00:13:25] Yeah, man.

[00:13:26] What a transition.

[00:13:28] Yeah.

[00:13:28] We talk about S-H-I-T-T-T-Y to another S-H-I-T-T-Y situation.

[00:13:33] Okay.

[00:13:33] So anyway.

[00:13:35] And I've had me.

[00:13:35] Yes.

[00:13:36] And actually, you, I've heard a couple of your stories and I've leaned on a couple of

[00:13:40] my friends who've had it recently.

[00:13:41] And you know, no big deal.

[00:13:43] The thing, the surgery itself, piece of cake.

[00:13:46] I mean.

[00:13:47] Surgery.

[00:13:47] You had surgery?

[00:13:48] No, whatever they do.

[00:13:49] Procedure.

[00:13:50] Yeah.

[00:13:50] Procedure.

[00:13:51] Yes.

[00:13:51] You had surgery.

[00:13:52] We're going to have some problems.

[00:13:53] I mean, because whatever that medicine they give you, the anesthesia, woo, can I have some

[00:13:59] more?

[00:13:59] Dude, that is fabulous.

[00:14:01] Isn't it propofol?

[00:14:01] Propofol, yes.

[00:14:02] So that is, is that what Michael Jackson passed away from?

[00:14:05] Yeah.

[00:14:05] So let's talk about propofol.

[00:14:07] Yeah.

[00:14:08] Okay.

[00:14:09] Let's have to do the whole rest of the podcast about propofol.

[00:14:11] That's how much I really enjoyed it.

[00:14:13] That has, that is a perfect drug.

[00:14:16] Yeah.

[00:14:16] I mean, like for what its purpose is, because it, you wake up feeling refreshed.

[00:14:24] And groggy at first, but then it's like the best night's sleep in your ass of your life.

[00:14:29] No hangover, no drug hangover, just refreshed.

[00:14:31] And I was talking to the, the nurse anesthetist and he was like, I was like, you know, is this

[00:14:37] a long kind of deal for you?

[00:14:38] Do you turn it on and just walk away, go have a smoke or whatever?

[00:14:41] And he was like, pretty much, man, I turn it on.

[00:14:43] And when you stop breathing, I turn it off.

[00:14:45] Like, you know, kind of like, I think he's being kind of funny, but, but I mean, I think

[00:14:50] that that's, that's proven to be true.

[00:14:52] Right.

[00:14:53] And, uh, but you know, when you go down and that it's not bad, but so that's not bad.

[00:14:58] The procedure is not bad, but there's a bad part of it.

[00:15:00] Oh, the prep is horrendous.

[00:15:02] Yes.

[00:15:03] So did you have the liquid that you had that the gallon jug or got the two little, two

[00:15:07] little pints?

[00:15:08] Okay.

[00:15:09] Two little pints.

[00:15:09] And, but how long did you have to cleanse before you, like, did they, you couldn't

[00:15:16] eat anything solid for how long?

[00:15:18] Like two days.

[00:15:18] Okay.

[00:15:19] Cause Jennifer has hers next week and she only has a half a day of cleansing or whatever.

[00:15:24] I couldn't eat anything for two days.

[00:15:26] That was, that's terrible.

[00:15:27] Two days.

[00:15:28] And then broth.

[00:15:29] Yeah.

[00:15:29] Bone broth and jello and stuff like that.

[00:15:31] Yeah.

[00:15:32] Yeah.

[00:15:33] But I will tell you that having the two pints is better than the gallon.

[00:15:37] Cause I had the gallon.

[00:15:38] Oh, did you really?

[00:15:39] Yeah.

[00:15:39] And I, from what I understand, they got pills.

[00:15:41] They got pills now.

[00:15:42] Pills are good.

[00:15:44] Pills are good.

[00:15:45] Pills will make good.

[00:15:45] If that's going to do it, I will tell you though, it is amazing that that drug can force

[00:15:54] stuff out of your body and your stomach not hurt.

[00:15:57] No stomach pain at all.

[00:15:58] No stomach pain.

[00:15:59] I mean, just really other weird stuff going on down below, but no stomach pain.

[00:16:03] Exactly.

[00:16:03] You, you, you really had to do some, uh, time checks.

[00:16:06] You have to be like, how long has it been?

[00:16:08] I've been in the bed.

[00:16:09] Whoa.

[00:16:10] Here we go.

[00:16:11] We need to visit.

[00:16:12] So, I mean, but it was amazing that that, and you know, the funny thing is, is like how

[00:16:16] drugs are created.

[00:16:17] They might've been like, okay, this is going to be a, um, a cancer drug.

[00:16:21] Okay.

[00:16:22] Well, it doesn't cure cancer.

[00:16:23] And the strange side effect is, is it makes you crap without your stomach hurting.

[00:16:28] So let's do that.

[00:16:29] So, I mean, tell us a little bit about your day.

[00:16:31] Okay.

[00:16:32] Sure.

[00:16:32] Like your prep.

[00:16:33] Yep.

[00:16:33] So here we go.

[00:16:34] We're cleansing bone, bone broth, jello.

[00:16:37] I mean, I don't eat much anyway.

[00:16:39] So I thought this would be kind of a piece of cake.

[00:16:43] However, the night before my cleanse, one of our friends had a 10 year anniversary party.

[00:16:47] And so, you know, there's a lot of consumption of all kinds of, you know, beverages and stuff.

[00:16:53] So I wake up the day of the cleanse where it's supposed to start.

[00:16:56] I can't eat anything afternoon, noon, you know, 12 PM.

[00:17:00] And, uh, we kind of get rocking and rolling, get up, go to church and everything.

[00:17:04] And so slightly hungover, you know, from the night before we didn't get home till three

[00:17:09] o'clock in the morning.

[00:17:10] Cleanse has to start at noon.

[00:17:12] What do you want to do when you're kind of hungover?

[00:17:14] You want to eat something greasy?

[00:17:15] You want to drink a Coca-Cola?

[00:17:16] Well, cannot do any of that.

[00:17:19] I got to stick with bone broth and jello.

[00:17:21] So the rest of that day, bone broth and jello.

[00:17:24] Go to work the next day.

[00:17:25] That's Monday.

[00:17:26] Bone broth.

[00:17:26] Bone broth and jello.

[00:17:28] Get all the way through the day.

[00:17:34] Before it hits.

[00:17:35] So we take the first one at five.

[00:17:37] I started worrying because nothing's no gurgling, nothing's happening to my stomach.

[00:17:42] And I was like, I don't think maybe I did.

[00:17:44] I mean, I did exactly what I was supposed to do, right?

[00:17:47] And nothing happens.

[00:17:48] And then maybe 28 minutes after the minute, bango.

[00:17:53] And then it just starts working like clockwork.

[00:17:56] So make it through the first run.

[00:17:58] I have to take my next medicine little pint at 1.30.

[00:18:03] So I'm not sleeping.

[00:18:04] You know, you don't sleep.

[00:18:05] You got to wake up.

[00:18:06] Yeah, yeah.

[00:18:06] So just go right through.

[00:18:08] That was the one good thing.

[00:18:09] Monday night football had two games that Monday night.

[00:18:11] So that was good.

[00:18:12] So watch football.

[00:18:13] Drinking the terribleness.

[00:18:15] Get through it at 1.30.

[00:18:16] Can't have anything after 3.30.

[00:18:18] So you got to have the medicine down and no water or anything after 3.30.

[00:18:21] So I was like, screw it.

[00:18:22] It's 3.30.

[00:18:23] I'm just going to stay up.

[00:18:25] Get to the place, right?

[00:18:27] 7.00.

[00:18:28] Check in.

[00:18:28] 7.30.

[00:18:31] East, come back to the back.

[00:18:33] I'm in there.

[00:18:33] Here's your little gown.

[00:18:34] You know, put the gown on.

[00:18:35] My butt's showing.

[00:18:36] You know, it's cute.

[00:18:37] Jennifer's like, oh, look at your little butt right there.

[00:18:40] So the doctor or the nurse comes in and was like, oh, got some news.

[00:18:45] Uh-oh.

[00:18:45] Your doctor's sick.

[00:18:46] She's not going to be able to make it in today.

[00:18:50] And I was like, we might.

[00:18:51] She said, we might have to reschedule.

[00:18:54] And I thought, if I have to go through this again like this week, there's no way.

[00:19:00] Just cancel it.

[00:19:01] We'll come back next year.

[00:19:02] Give me a year to kind of recoup from this prep.

[00:19:06] Oh, we've got this new doctor named The Claw that can do it.

[00:19:10] Right.

[00:19:10] And so I was like, ma'am, I don't mean to be rude, but I just went through all the prep.

[00:19:15] I haven't slept really in two full days, maybe two hours.

[00:19:20] You got a janitor or something that can do this?

[00:19:22] Exactly.

[00:19:23] I'm staying here.

[00:19:24] I'll stay here all day, all night.

[00:19:26] But let's just get it done today.

[00:19:28] And she said, we're working on it.

[00:19:29] We're working on it.

[00:19:30] So an hour or two pass.

[00:19:31] Another doctor comes in.

[00:19:33] They're like, we got you.

[00:19:34] You're going in.

[00:19:35] So they will me in, you know.

[00:19:36] And then the lady said, the anesthesiologist or whatever, she said, all right, I'm going

[00:19:43] to count to five.

[00:19:43] You're going to feel something kind of metallic-y in your throat.

[00:19:48] And she was like, that's the medicine.

[00:19:50] And then next thing you know, you wake up.

[00:19:52] And I was like, okay.

[00:19:54] So I roll over, you know, hit that IV.

[00:19:57] I can see on the, there's a screen.

[00:19:59] I can see it go drip, drip.

[00:20:01] And she said, five, four.

[00:20:03] And then I woke up.

[00:20:04] Then you woke up.

[00:20:04] I woke up and it was over.

[00:20:06] Yeah.

[00:20:06] So amazing.

[00:20:07] Yeah.

[00:20:07] I think I told you my, when I went to, so first of all, I had to sit back in that

[00:20:12] room before I went in for a while.

[00:20:13] Right.

[00:20:14] Yeah.

[00:20:14] And so I'm sitting back there and I might have to go to the bathroom again.

[00:20:17] Yeah, of course.

[00:20:18] You know, did you get up?

[00:20:19] Of course.

[00:20:19] Okay.

[00:20:19] So, so we had to do that.

[00:20:20] Right.

[00:20:21] But I get wheeled in there and my guy was really cool.

[00:20:23] The nurse that was putting me down and he was like, so Mr.

[00:20:28] Hammer, where do you want to go?

[00:20:29] I was like, what are you talking about?

[00:20:30] He was like space, the beach.

[00:20:31] Wow.

[00:20:31] You know, he's like, he was trying to like, he was like, I was like, how about I just

[00:20:35] wake up?

[00:20:36] How about I just come back in this room?

[00:20:37] And he was like, oh, you'll come back, bud.

[00:20:39] And he was like, uh, he did the same thing.

[00:20:41] And in my mind, I always think it's funny to mess with people, you know, like in this

[00:20:44] situation, cause they do it all day and you know, you want to say something funny and

[00:20:48] I'm stupid enough to think I'm funny.

[00:20:50] And so he was like looking at me and he was like, all right, man, I'm going to start

[00:20:54] the medicine.

[00:20:55] Tell me when you can feel it.

[00:20:56] And I was trying to like fight it a little bit, you know?

[00:20:57] Really?

[00:20:58] Yeah.

[00:20:58] I was like seeing like how hard, like how hard I can fight it.

[00:21:00] And so I was like fighting it.

[00:21:01] And he was like, you all right, Mr. Imor?

[00:21:05] I was like, you're a good looking man.

[00:21:06] And he was like, yeah, you're feeling it.

[00:21:08] And next thing you know, I was asleep.

[00:21:10] That's great.

[00:21:11] And I woke up and he was laughing.

[00:21:13] He was like, man, that was some funny stuff.

[00:21:14] Cause I barely remember saying it.

[00:21:16] Yeah.

[00:21:16] But, uh, so let's think about that.

[00:21:18] Michael Jackson, this is, I mean, that's how he passed away, I guess too much of that,

[00:21:22] but that's how he would go to sleep every night.

[00:21:24] That's crazy.

[00:21:25] Is that not wild?

[00:21:26] That's crazy.

[00:21:27] Go to sleep every night that way.

[00:21:28] Could you imagine needing that to go to sleep?

[00:21:30] Like, I mean, what, like what's going on in your life?

[00:21:33] Because think about it.

[00:21:34] We, our procedure lasted 30 minutes and it felt like the medicine went in and it felt

[00:21:38] like you were, do you remember dreaming or anything?

[00:21:42] I vaguely remember when I was coming to something was going on in my brain, but I can't really

[00:21:46] remember.

[00:21:46] So if he went to bed, that means, you know, you, when you sleep, you realize you're asleep

[00:21:52] and you know that, you know, cause you'll wake up and say, okay, and then I'll go back

[00:21:55] to sleep with that thing, you're not waking up.

[00:21:57] So it basically is you take the medicine and then bang, you wake up.

[00:21:59] It's the next morning you wake up.

[00:22:00] Yeah.

[00:22:00] He's like jockeying a nozzle to keep you asleep.

[00:22:05] To keep you asleep.

[00:22:06] And then like right when he turns it to the left, you wake up.

[00:22:08] Right.

[00:22:09] It's crazy.

[00:22:10] Right.

[00:22:10] And that's every night.

[00:22:12] I mean, not amazing.

[00:22:14] It's terrible, but whoever been to the drug that I commend them.

[00:22:19] Yeah.

[00:22:19] Well, I mean, it's a perfect one for what it's used for.

[00:22:21] It's wonderful.

[00:22:22] It is.

[00:22:23] So, so, uh, how often we got to go back?

[00:22:26] 10 years.

[00:22:26] You got the 10 year note.

[00:22:28] Clean bill of health.

[00:22:29] Oh boy.

[00:22:29] Yes.

[00:22:30] Absolutely.

[00:22:30] I guess that happens when you don't eat anything.

[00:22:33] I mean, I mean, you don't eat anything.

[00:22:36] Nothing will collect in there.

[00:22:37] It was probably, it's probably like a new piece of PVC.

[00:22:41] You probably were slick as it came.

[00:22:44] Yeah.

[00:22:44] One funny thing is when I did get out, Jennifer was like, what do you want to eat?

[00:22:47] And I was like, I'm just not hungry.

[00:22:49] Oh, that doesn't surprise me.

[00:22:51] I was like, shouldn't I be starving?

[00:22:53] Yeah.

[00:22:53] I definitely wanted to go eat.

[00:22:54] Did you?

[00:22:55] Where'd you go?

[00:22:56] Of course you did.

[00:22:57] Where'd you go?

[00:22:58] Chick-fil-A, I think.

[00:22:59] Everybody, we talked to Mark Egridge.

[00:23:01] He said he went to Chick-fil-A.

[00:23:02] Will went to Chick-fil-A after theirs, but.

[00:23:04] Yeah.

[00:23:05] Chick-fil-A was the right call.

[00:23:06] Yeah.

[00:23:07] Yeah.

[00:23:07] It was the right call.

[00:23:08] Well, good.

[00:23:09] Well, anyway, moving away from poop stories.

[00:23:14] Let's talk a little bit about your favorite sport, and it is baseball playoff time.

[00:23:19] It is baseball playoff time.

[00:23:20] And so I'm not a big baseball watcher on television, but when the playoffs come, oh my gosh, it's

[00:23:25] so exciting.

[00:23:25] It is exciting.

[00:23:26] And furthermore, you've got the three, let's say, star athletes, baseball players that

[00:23:34] will bring eyes to the television.

[00:23:36] They're in the playoffs.

[00:23:37] Like Shoei.

[00:23:39] Shoei.

[00:23:39] Shoei.

[00:23:40] He's in it.

[00:23:40] He hasn't been in the playoffs before, I don't think, right?

[00:23:42] It's the first time.

[00:23:43] Eyes will be glued.

[00:23:45] You got the.

[00:23:46] You know, 50-50 club.

[00:23:47] Do you understand what, like, the magnitude of that?

[00:23:49] I do just from reading.

[00:23:51] Not really, because I'm not a baseball player, but, I mean, it's never been done, right?

[00:23:55] No.

[00:23:55] I mean, unbelievable.

[00:23:56] And there's only a handful of people that have been 40-40.

[00:23:58] Right.

[00:23:58] Right?

[00:23:59] Then there's, you know, a good bit of 30-30.

[00:24:01] But the 50-50 is bananas.

[00:24:06] Sure.

[00:24:06] And it probably won't ever happen again, because Shoei, the only reason Shoei got that many

[00:24:09] at-bats is because he had Tommy John, and so he wasn't pitching.

[00:24:13] He wasn't pitching.

[00:24:14] So he, next year, if he throws, which, if I were the team, I would never throw that dude

[00:24:18] again.

[00:24:18] He's a great, I mean, he's considered one of the best pitchers.

[00:24:20] Sure.

[00:24:21] But he's such a good bat.

[00:24:22] But what he did is bananas.

[00:24:26] I mean, that 50-50.

[00:24:28] And, you know, offensively, you want to hear a stat that I heard, which is crazy, the other

[00:24:32] day, that Shoei's season would be the ninth best season for Barry Bonds.

[00:24:37] What?

[00:24:40] How is that possible?

[00:24:42] Offensively.

[00:24:43] Okay.

[00:24:43] Like, I mean, you can't equate the stolen bases.

[00:24:45] Right.

[00:24:45] It would be the ninth best season for Barry Bonds.

[00:24:49] And Barry Bonds will not be ever a Hall of Famer, right?

[00:24:52] Probably.

[00:24:53] You know, the thing is, is I was talking about this the other day with Pete Rose dying.

[00:24:59] Yeah.

[00:24:59] Does that make his path to the Hall of Fame any easier?

[00:25:06] And so if Pete gets in, would that make Barry Bonds' path any easier?

[00:25:12] Or Mark McGuire's?

[00:25:13] To different circumstances, gambling versus PDs.

[00:25:15] Which is worse.

[00:25:19] That's a good question.

[00:25:20] I'll think about that for a little bit.

[00:25:23] Because Pete never bet against his team.

[00:25:27] I bet you.

[00:25:28] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:25:29] You know.

[00:25:29] Who knows?

[00:25:30] I don't know what is worse.

[00:25:31] But anyway, the other superstars that will be in the playoffs that will be bringing all

[00:25:36] the Americans' eyes to the television.

[00:25:38] You've got Judge, Aaron Judge in New York.

[00:25:41] He'll bring them in.

[00:25:42] And you've got Harper.

[00:25:43] Yeah, Bryce.

[00:25:44] In Philadelphia.

[00:25:45] So those three superstars.

[00:25:47] You couldn't ask for bigger superstars in baseball.

[00:25:49] Bang.

[00:25:50] They're all going to be playing.

[00:25:51] And you've got a lot of second tier, like right below them.

[00:25:55] Right below.

[00:25:55] Juan Soto's right there.

[00:25:57] This Padre dude.

[00:25:58] Machado.

[00:25:59] Machado.

[00:26:00] Machado's right there.

[00:26:00] Yes.

[00:26:01] Tatis.

[00:26:01] Tatis, yes.

[00:26:01] You know, you've got Lindor.

[00:26:03] Right.

[00:26:03] You've got Ramirez from the Guardians.

[00:26:06] I mean, you've got a lot of great baseball players.

[00:26:08] It's going to be fun.

[00:26:08] So Colin Cowherd said today, this playoff season will be remembered like, you remember

[00:26:15] when the Red Sox and the Yankees had the, where was 3-0 and the Yankees came back?

[00:26:21] How everybody watched that series.

[00:26:23] He said people will be watching these series just like that year.

[00:26:27] That might be over 15 years ago.

[00:26:29] I can't even remember when that was.

[00:26:30] It was maybe early 2000s, 2005, 2008, something like that.

[00:26:34] And you know the crazy thing is you look at these teams, the lineups of these teams, and

[00:26:37] they are like, before you'd have like three, four great players, and then you'd have role

[00:26:41] players, glue guys.

[00:26:42] Man, you look down at like the Dodgers or the Yankees, the Phillies, the Padres, everybody

[00:26:50] is like, Luis Areza is considered one of the best hitters in baseball.

[00:26:54] I think he hits seven for the Padres.

[00:26:56] Unbelievable.

[00:26:56] I mean, it's amazing.

[00:26:58] Yeah.

[00:26:58] So give me a winner before we go today.

[00:27:00] Give me a winner.

[00:27:01] Who wins the World Series 2024, Hank?

[00:27:07] Who do you think it'll be?

[00:27:10] Dodgers.

[00:27:13] I will agree.

[00:27:14] I believe it will be the Dodgers too, but it's going to be good.

[00:27:17] It's going to be great.

[00:27:17] It's going to be fun to watch.

[00:27:18] Yeah.

[00:27:18] You know the team that I think is going to be the most fun to watch?

[00:27:20] The Tigers right now are crazy.

[00:27:22] I love the Tigers.

[00:27:24] Right.

[00:27:24] But I'm not saying they could do it, but they're a team that's like so hot right now and fun

[00:27:27] to watch.

[00:27:28] Sure.

[00:27:28] So is the Royals.

[00:27:30] Royals.

[00:27:30] Bobby Witt Jr.

[00:27:31] He's the most, probably one of the most exciting players in baseball right now.

[00:27:34] Yeah, he's bad.

[00:27:35] Yeah.

[00:27:35] It's going to be fun to watch.

[00:27:36] So staying on the sports tip, Hickory High School, last year, state champions in football,

[00:27:43] Hank.

[00:27:43] Yep.

[00:27:43] This team, this year's team might be better.

[00:27:46] So they had a very against, I guess, supposedly the second best team in the conference last

[00:27:54] night, North Lincoln.

[00:27:55] And Hickory High handled business.

[00:27:57] I didn't see the final.

[00:27:58] What was the final?

[00:27:59] It's like 65 to 28 or something like that.

[00:28:02] It was like, yeah, it was something our producer's pulling out.

[00:28:06] Yeah, it's 60 something to 28, I think.

[00:28:10] Yeah.

[00:28:11] Here we go.

[00:28:11] Here comes the score.

[00:28:12] Up, right there.

[00:28:13] Max prep.

[00:28:15] Right there.

[00:28:16] You go down to the schedule.

[00:28:18] Go up to the schedule.

[00:28:20] Over the top.

[00:28:22] North Lincoln.

[00:28:23] That's what we played, right?

[00:28:24] North Lincoln.

[00:28:25] No, if you go up to the top right underneath baseball or basketball, boys basketball, it

[00:28:28] says schedule.

[00:28:30] Schedule.

[00:28:34] Gosh.

[00:28:34] Anyway, it was a blowout.

[00:28:36] So did you go?

[00:28:37] I did.

[00:28:37] Okay, so give me kind of, I wasn't there.

[00:28:39] Give me kind of how, are we bringing big crowds?

[00:28:42] Like last year, we were toward the end.

[00:28:43] I mean, huge crowds.

[00:28:44] Is it kind of like that?

[00:28:45] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:28:45] It was a big crowd.

[00:28:46] But you got to think it was on a Wednesday night.

[00:28:48] True.

[00:28:48] And so, you know, it did have a little bit of a-

[00:28:51] Sixteen.

[00:28:52] No, that's a different one.

[00:28:53] Yeah, that's Cox Mill.

[00:28:54] That's Cox Mill.

[00:28:54] So it did have a big crowd compared, like compared to most.

[00:29:01] And North Lincoln brought a pretty good crowd for them.

[00:29:03] You could tell, Hickory's offense is so good, right?

[00:29:10] Like a college team.

[00:29:10] And their defense is good.

[00:29:11] We had this argument last year.

[00:29:13] One of the parents of the defensive players got mad.

[00:29:16] But their offense, to a fault, scores so quickly.

[00:29:21] And the team, North Lincoln does this option, this read option.

[00:29:25] And the problem is, is they're getting three yards at a time, four yards at a time, right?

[00:29:30] We are going down and scoring in two minutes.

[00:29:32] So our defense is out there forever.

[00:29:34] Ever.

[00:29:35] And so it really is taxing on the defense.

[00:29:37] And so, you know, I think the real question, and it's not the question mark, but it's the

[00:29:41] question, is can our defense stop the big teams that we're getting ready to get into?

[00:29:46] Because last year, it did.

[00:29:49] Our offense stayed the same.

[00:29:50] Right.

[00:29:50] Ish.

[00:29:51] Ish.

[00:29:51] So we know what we have on offense is, can the defense, you know, pull that job?

[00:29:56] And last night, we had a couple of fumbles, which kind of like, at the first of the game,

[00:30:01] which kind of like made it look a little sloppy at the beginning.

[00:30:04] But we had a number of interceptions.

[00:30:07] They had a lot of fun, like three or four fumble losses.

[00:30:10] Our friend Will, his nephew, Brett had another game.

[00:30:14] He's got his fifth interception.

[00:30:16] Wow.

[00:30:16] Fumble recovery.

[00:30:17] Good for him.

[00:30:18] So, but everybody played real well.

[00:30:19] And to watch Stober throw a ball, especially to Ellis or Jamian, it's a different kind of

[00:30:26] football, dude.

[00:30:27] Yeah.

[00:30:27] I mean, those guys were doing what they wanted when they wanted.

[00:30:30] Yeah.

[00:30:31] So.

[00:30:31] It's like a different level.

[00:30:32] Someone was describing the offense compared to the other offenses in our conference.

[00:30:36] And they was like, dude, it's just a whole different game.

[00:30:38] Yeah.

[00:30:38] They're playing a different game.

[00:30:40] Yeah.

[00:30:40] And, you know, it's kind of interesting, too, because you see this vertical kind of game

[00:30:45] from Hickory.

[00:30:46] And they have got a dang bruiser in the backfield.

[00:30:48] Yes.

[00:30:48] That just drags people.

[00:30:50] And so, like.

[00:30:51] Blackie.

[00:30:51] I love it that they, you know, they hand it off to him and he gets a hard eight.

[00:30:55] Sure.

[00:30:55] You know, dragging four dudes.

[00:30:56] And then that.

[00:30:57] They don't want that to happen again.

[00:30:58] So, they load the box.

[00:30:59] Right.

[00:30:59] And then they just dump it deep.

[00:31:01] So, it's.

[00:31:02] I mean, they look really good.

[00:31:04] That's good.

[00:31:04] Go Hickory High School.

[00:31:06] Red Tornadoes.

[00:31:07] We are very proud of you.

[00:31:08] So, let's hopefully they keep it up.

[00:31:10] We're playing St.

[00:31:11] Stephen's this weekend, I believe on Saturday.

[00:31:14] At home.

[00:31:15] At home.

[00:31:15] At home.

[00:31:16] And hopefully it just gets us back in the rhythm.

[00:31:17] Because, you know, I thought high school football couldn't play closer than five days.

[00:31:22] For some reason, I thought that was like you couldn't play, you know, more closer than

[00:31:26] five days.

[00:31:26] But I guess not.

[00:31:28] And so, hopefully after that, it'll get us back on track.

[00:31:30] And North Lincoln was proved to be probably the tough, you know, the toughest opponent

[00:31:34] right now.

[00:31:35] East Lincoln was pretty tough.

[00:31:37] But St.

[00:31:37] Stephen's, you know, is always our rival.

[00:31:41] And so, you know, they're going to certainly want to beat up on us.

[00:31:43] And we're going to be ready for them.

[00:31:45] And, you know, it'll be an exciting game, I'm sure.

[00:31:47] Yeah, very good.

[00:31:48] Yeah.

[00:31:48] Well, this weekend, Hank, a lot of stuff going around Hickory.

[00:31:52] A lot of fundraisers, obviously, for our brothers and sisters in the mountains.

[00:31:57] I know the Hum is putting on a show where some of the proceeds will go to help people

[00:32:02] living in Western North Carolina.

[00:32:03] The Auto Lawn is this weekend.

[00:32:05] I'll be emceeing it today.

[00:32:07] I'm sure there's going to be donations taken there where they will get to the people that

[00:32:12] need it in Western North Carolina.

[00:32:15] I know that Hickory High does that big 50-50 raffle.

[00:32:18] That's right.

[00:32:19] And it's, I don't know where it's at now, I think close to 50.

[00:32:22] Okay.

[00:32:22] Okay.

[00:32:23] And they just announced yesterday that 80% of it is going to Samaritan's Purse.

[00:32:27] Awesome.

[00:32:27] So I think you can still get tickets.

[00:32:29] They've extended it another week.

[00:32:31] Yeah.

[00:32:31] Yeah.

[00:32:32] So you can still get tickets up until, I mean, really, actually, I think it's up until

[00:32:35] next Friday.

[00:32:36] So yeah, get your tickets.

[00:32:38] I know I've got mine.

[00:32:39] I'm sure you've got yours.

[00:32:40] I did.

[00:32:40] I think it's for really, really good calls and even better calls now that some of the

[00:32:44] proceeds will go to Samaritan's Purse to help.

[00:32:47] And we've heard rumors of other things that are going to go on in Western North Carolina,

[00:32:50] concerts and stuff like that, that the proceeds are going to, you know, they're hopefully going

[00:32:54] to raise enough money to help that.

[00:32:56] So I think all of us have to be conscious enough to be like, hey, you know, we can't solve this

[00:33:02] in one day.

[00:33:03] And, you know, I think they're a very smart friend of ours that has a lot of knowledge

[00:33:08] in this was talking about, you know, everybody around this event and being knowledgeable

[00:33:13] and what their area can give.

[00:33:16] And, you know, they lost a lot of furniture up there and our area is very furniture heavy.

[00:33:22] And so, you know, who better than the Hickory community to kind of look within themselves

[00:33:28] and say, hey, what can we do to help supply things to those people that can get them to

[00:33:34] their next step?

[00:33:35] Sure.

[00:33:35] And that's really smart.

[00:33:36] I mean, you know, let's use our strengths and that would certainly be one of ours.

[00:33:40] Yes, absolutely.

[00:33:41] Like just, you know, hosiery used to be huge here in Hickory and it's one of our friends

[00:33:45] has a great hosiery company.

[00:33:47] My wife works for them.

[00:33:48] Well, they donated.

[00:33:50] Just think about it.

[00:33:51] You don't think about, they need socks.

[00:33:53] Yeah.

[00:33:53] Their stuff's soaking wet.

[00:33:55] Yeah.

[00:33:56] You know, they need these things.

[00:33:57] And so they donate just tons and tons of socks and I'm loading them on the truck right after

[00:34:01] we get out of here to, they're going up there tonight with them.

[00:34:03] So anyway, yeah, that's how we can help.

[00:34:07] Right.

[00:34:07] Yeah.

[00:34:07] Right.

[00:34:08] Hey, you were talking about sports.

[00:34:09] Yeah.

[00:34:09] I got a question for you.

[00:34:11] Shoot.

[00:34:11] And this is not something we give a lot of attention to.

[00:34:15] Caitlin Clark.

[00:34:16] Yes.

[00:34:17] Wins rookie of the year.

[00:34:18] She does.

[00:34:18] A lot of hate on that girl this year.

[00:34:20] A lot of hate.

[00:34:21] I don't watch WNBA.

[00:34:24] The college basketball national championship was probably the most exciting women's college

[00:34:29] national championship.

[00:34:31] And I think more people watched it because of Caitlin, because of Angel Reese.

[00:34:34] They actually watched the women's game more than the guys game that year.

[00:34:38] Right.

[00:34:38] I don't know if you knew that.

[00:34:39] Right.

[00:34:39] They did.

[00:34:39] It's crazy.

[00:34:40] Going into the season, a lot of hate on her.

[00:34:42] She's not that type of player.

[00:34:44] She isn't that person.

[00:34:45] Right.

[00:34:46] Bricks all kind of records this year and gets rookie of the year.

[00:34:50] Yes.

[00:34:50] Right.

[00:34:52] Do you think the WNBA and most of their players are going to acknowledge that she's bad or are

[00:34:59] they just going to continue to hate on her?

[00:35:01] And because she like she was getting hammered on the court.

[00:35:05] Oh, yeah.

[00:35:05] Like it was like she did not like her like a foreigner in someone else's land.

[00:35:11] Yes.

[00:35:12] And they're so dumb because all she's doing is putting more bread in their pocket.

[00:35:18] Now they fly first class private jets.

[00:35:20] Now the stadiums are sold out.

[00:35:22] So that means more salary increases for them.

[00:35:26] And they hate her.

[00:35:28] You know, but they're always going to hate a good player.

[00:35:31] You know what I'm saying?

[00:35:32] I don't know.

[00:35:33] People are going to hate.

[00:35:33] They really hate her.

[00:35:34] Oh, they really do.

[00:35:35] And she hadn't done nothing.

[00:35:35] No.

[00:35:36] She's awesome.

[00:35:37] Yeah.

[00:35:38] I saw that she won it and I saw she wrote the assist record.

[00:35:42] And what was the other one?

[00:35:45] Three pointers.

[00:35:46] Yeah.

[00:35:46] Yes.

[00:35:47] So, I mean, that's bananas.

[00:35:49] Yeah, it truly is.

[00:35:50] I root for a man.

[00:35:51] A lot of my friends are like, you watch WNBA?

[00:35:54] I'm like, yeah, dude.

[00:35:55] I've got two girls in my household.

[00:35:57] You know, they sports people kind of.

[00:35:59] Olivia's really not.

[00:36:00] Lucy Rose is a little bit.

[00:36:01] But we'll watch WNBA games and specifically they started watching them because of her.

[00:36:06] You know, so anyway, she brings a lot of eyes to the television.

[00:36:09] When we were talking about sports, I wanted to ask that question because I saw that the other day.

[00:36:12] And I knew you were, you know, you watch everything and wanted your opinion.

[00:36:17] Yeah.

[00:36:17] Very good.

[00:36:19] Well, Hank, what else we got today before we call it a show?

[00:36:22] It started off on a somber note, but it seems like we have found a little energy and a little enthusiasm

[00:36:28] and a little light at the end of the tunnel to bring to our listening audience, which is climbing.

[00:36:34] The audience is getting bigger and greater.

[00:36:38] Hank, yes, yes, yes.

[00:36:39] Anything else you want to talk about before we get out of here today, my friend?

[00:36:42] No, I think we might have covered it all.

[00:36:45] Again, our thoughts and prayers are with those people in Western North Carolina,

[00:36:48] with the volunteers, with, you know, our government that's going in there, whether it's state or national.

[00:36:58] I just, you know, I hope that a plan is put together and they're able to see kind of the first steps to getting out of this.

[00:37:06] Yes, absolutely.

[00:37:08] And I'm sure, you know, you guys look online or whatever.

[00:37:11] There's a million places to bring supplies, your donations, anything to help these fine folks in North Carolina.

[00:37:16] And as we talked about it before, we will survive.

[00:37:19] We will get through this all together and we'll become stronger for it.

[00:37:24] So anyway, thanks for listening today.

[00:37:26] Hank, have a great weekend.

[00:37:28] And we'll see you guys in two weeks.

[00:37:30] Peace.
